  1. If you prevent people from leaving, you'd quite likely end up with half your team not trying, at least now they rage quit and there's a chance someone better takes their spots.

If you prevent people from leaving they just won't queue up. Nobody is going to be happy if they're forced to "play" a game. Honestly I'm stunned that people still do queue up, especially as solo queue. Must be a lot of masochists.

  2. so the whinners on this thread basically want people to NOT play with thier friends in a star wars large scale MMO

and fyi we arent in mumble/vent to "pwn the noobs with our sick stratz" , we do it to talk and have fun ,

and a premade of 2 is still a premade group, so most of you know its more fun to play with people

Um, nobody posted that. Strawman much?

Hell, it's a large scale MMO, you shouldn't be sitting in your tiny little group the entire time. Get out there and socialize. Talk to new people, make new acquaintances. I get the feeling that for most of you, in the rare event that you are actually invited to a party, you just sit there with each other and are too scared to talk to anybody else.

Biofail isn't going to change anything so stop worrying. This is a PVE game, they'd rather lose their jobs than fix the PVP lol. And man they're doing a great job at that, they've lost what, 90% of their workforce? Haha, now that's determination. Nonsensical determination, but you have to be impressed with it.

Personally I'd rather save my job instead of getting fired for being inept. It's awfully hard to get a new job when you are known for screwing up your last one. The only exception is if you are at the elite highest levels, then you just fire and blame your inept employees and then get a new job and run another company into the ground.

At least that clown Georges is gone. I wish this new devs cared, it would be nice to get behind them and root for them to really get it all together and then make a great reputation for themselves. But they are completed insistent on just repeating what their predecessors did and not learning from anything. Much like this entire game, that refused to learn from other games. Love it!

  3. my point is that just b/c they are in a PUG doesnt mean they have to play poorly.

general awareness of whats going on, call-outs early, not over-rotating (counting is hard), etc etc

all little things, but all things that go a long long way to make a bad player a good player. if every single player did these things all the time, PUGs would actually not be that bad, and would probably hold their own against the large majority of premades

Oh please, a good premade should never lose to a full PUG no matter who the players are. PUGs are simply too slow and the team composition won't be good enough.

We had a full PUG against a double premade (as usual) where the PUG side had 3 guild leaders from the top PVP guilds, and the premade side had the top PVP guild and another very good one.

Despite the PUG side having some people on vent and having really good players overall, it just wasn't going to work. Despite great play and leadership skills it was eventually going to be a loss, and honestly it was never really competitive at all. These were all guild leaders that had won plenty of times with their premades against that same premade, and in general that team composition led to a high win percentage in PUGs, but against a similarly skilled opponent it's all meaningless.

Premades are a huge advantage against PUGs, that's why people premade. Voice chat, solid team composition, better gear, familiarity, they are all significant advantages.

This is a progression gear game and it puts premades vs PUGs. It is what it is. Personally the only thing that really annoys me about it is people that speak out of both sides of their mouth, bragging about how playing as a premade means they're more skilled while simultaneously insisting premade vs PUG affords no inherent advantage to a premade.

The only way a PUG is beating a premade is when that PUG is actually significantly more skilled than the people on the premade. But just in terms of common sense and basic numbers, that can't be effective match making because you have to assume average vs. average (because that is what average means, meaning the majority of people).

Nothing is ever going to change and the only solution is to form your own premade and then roll PUGs until all the PUGs stop queuing up. There's nothing wrong with the back and forth going on in these forums, it's just meaningless. As long as you look at it as entertainment it can be fun though.

  4. They should just end warzones when too many people on one side quit. That's how it used to be and then nobody really complained, except the people that whined that people were leveling up too quick in PVP or getting too many comms or something.

I hate people like that, why are you so concerned with what other people are doing or how fast they're progressing? It happens at most jobs too, someone always makes a big deal about people taking breaks or something else. Rather than whining and then getting it screwed up for everyone, these people really need to either do these things themselves or ignore it.

So as usual Biofail listens to the whiniest, most vocal, and clueless people (who probably don't even play this game anymore) and just keeps the warzones going. So people quit, more people zone in, they quit too and instead of temporarily annoying 3-5 or so people, you're now annoying 16-18 people.

RWZ sure if one side quits you keep the match going until it ends. But normal warzones, especially PUGs vs premades? That's absurd, just end the match. We don't force a guy in boxing to keep getting up and punched in the face until time is over, we just call the match because it's so stupid to keep going when it's obvious one side is overmatched. Heck in real war too, it's been tens of hundreds of years since we actively killed every single person on an opposing side especially every battle. People have been retreating from battle and agreeing to ceasefires since the dawn of time. I don't know why this backwards game thinks everyone needs to be punished.

  5. What? Why can you see what you're targeting? How is it you can see the enemy's HP and resource pool? Why is it you can see enemy status effects on them? How is it you can see the debuffs and such on you as well?

I mean really? This thread exists? Seriously?

  6. Do you enjoy facerolling non-premade non-guild new players? Do you enjoy being the bully who's telling the skinny kid to lay down so you can take his lunch money and shoes before you break his nose? What kind of narcissist are you?

Haha are you kidding, he was the skinny kid being bullied. A lot of people repeat what happened to them. Others try to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. It's two types of different reactions that determine your character.

  7. People like you are the reason I refuse to join a hardcore PvP guild. I did it in another game, and most hardcore PvPers are similar...rude, arrogant, dismissive, childish sociopaths who are just as clique oriented now as high school kids. I would not hang out with you in real life, so why would I socialize with you in a game I play for fun?

Yeah, same here. That's why voice chat for PUGs would be an awful idea. I got a permanent 5 point infraction for saying this before, so I will likely have to stop here. Biofail does not want you to insult these types of people because they are catering to them, apparently they spend the most money or something (forget the 2M+ subs they lost, Biofail must cater to these types over profitability and the overall player base! lol).

I ran a very, very good PVP guild for awhile. The problem is if you insist on maturity, which most of us had, you won't last too long. The problem is people that are more mature generally also have friends, family and careers. So while they can play for 2 weeks, maybe 2 months or so, eventually real life takes over and they will disappear for the most part, fall way behind on gear, and then realize they have better things to do and leave.

I'm subbed mostly for PVE, I play a few hours a week, maybe ever other week when I can coordinate with friends. If there was a solo only queue I'd prefer that, also with a much shorter gear grind or none whatsoever. Ideally no comm cap, so when I'm playing for fun I won't be punished for the next gear set. But as it is, I know that won't happen, so whenever my friends get bored, probably when we level cap on our PVE on both sides (we run every class in a group, each being a different class, so we pretty much see every class story with 1 run through on each faction) we will unsub and likely never play again, just using left over cartel coins at most.

  8. When that happens, I generally just look to premade, because when you premade it never backfills you. Plus then it's free wins since it almost always just zones you against a full PUG group, so even if you're just premading with one other person it's a better experience.

Yes, it's stupid, but they're called Biofail for a reason.

  9. If you don't like it just don't queue up anymore. I certainly don't. And once you have your toons at 50, just un-sub, over 2M and counting have taken that exact option.
  10. Even if gear was the real issue, I still don't get why undergeared people feel they should have a chance against geared players and chastize "being coordinated" like its wrong or something. Makes no sense.

Because they were looking for a different game. They wanted GW2 or something like that, except they're Star Wars fans so they wanted it in this game.

Maybe Disney will make that game, they certainly have the resources to create a competitive Star Wars based video game. It probably won't be anytime soon however.

I can only speak for myself personally, but the reason why I make posts like that is because I am messing around and trying to make my day go by faster. I've stated it before and it still holds true, I know full well nothing will ever change and this is a PVE game, with tacked on progression PVP. I really don't take it seriously but the back and forth on here can be fun sometimes. Too bad the evil mods always come in to ruin the fun.

  11. This wont work and here is why

group allowance: people will simulque and will most likely get into the same game.

friend/guild: just remove them from friends list or /gquit on when you want to pvp together.

only thing that i like from your post is the class role restrictions but only if they do not effect que times. As in, if there are no healers queing repub or imp side, that faction will still get que pops with no time delay regardless of of group composition.

If there are actually a lot of warzones happening, and especially if the game goes same faction, the chances of those guilds getting their groups together like that are far lower than the number of times it won't happen or their groups would get broken up. They'd then have to drop, let other people actually get in the game, and re-try later on so as not to get put right back in the same game again.

If they were really determined, they'd just keep trying that for an hour so they could play for 10 minutes and actually roll a full PUG, but what if they wind up against another premade that tried this too, so they can't even roll them? Or a skilled group of PUGs that stream roll them?

The problem would just sort itself out. If the population is too low then it's only a few people playing anyway so it doesn't matter. If the population is high it's such a waste of time to try it that nobody is going to try doing it.

The only reason people say it would be a problem is because they don't want Bioware to implement it in the first place, since right now you don't even have to bother with that and can just roll solo queuers with a guaranteed premade.

  12. You do know kiting does not equal running away right? And of you're going to do what? Shock, keep your slow up, IDK maybe lightning when you get to a safe range so you can get procs, use your hard cc's, use knock backs, force speed away, heal if you can?

And no, a good melee doesn't run after a stupid person trying to kite, you run away LOS and range them.

Haha this exactly, especially in an objective based game. If I'm a Mara guarding and I see a Sorc, what is he going to do exactly? I'll just stick around behind the turret and force him to get in my range. Either he comes to me and I kill him, or he stays far away from me staring at me while I get defensive medals.

The opposite is true when I'm going for an objective. Either that Sorc is going to stick around the objective, where I will slaughter him, or he's going to run away from the objective, so I'll just take it.

Even in a game like huttball, if you get knocked off a ledge for instance and don't have leap up, or even if you do, unless you need to get there for positioning purposes, it doesn't really make sense to bother attacking that Sorc. Just LOS him, or get out of his range, and go after someone else while he stands there like a moron.

People only look at LOS from the ranged perspective. People don't seem to understand that if a Sorc/Sage is LOSing you, that means they can't attack you either. They are not DPSing you when they LOS themselves. The melee wins that matchup, not the ranged, ranged WANTS you to stand there far away from them where you can't hit them but they can hit you, it is absolutely no benefit to them when neither of you can hit each other, that is in fact a net benefit for the melee, because he has now nullified the opposing position of strength.

If people really like the Sorc/Sage DPS playstyle they should just play the middle tree of PT. It isn't the optimal PVP build, but it will give you a similar experience, except better, unless you really like to be rooted in one spot while casting a channel ability. But even if you do that, PT has one of those for you too.

  13. Just roll back Sorc/Sage, Merc/Commando, Operative/Scoundrel to pre-1.2 levels. They still probably won't be as ridiculous as the current Mara/Sent garbage we have, so the JK/SW should not have a reason to complain (they will anyway, that's why we have this mess).

All the Mara/Sents whined that 6 ACs were OP (How is that possible?) so Bioware in their infinite wisdom nerfed them all while buffing their melee glowstick brigade to ridiculous levels.

Since then they have done absolutely nothing, nothing to help these classes. Their piss poor attempt to help Sorc/Sage was to give a crappy heal and then a stun bubble, which I think was probably only given to the Sorc/Sage to put it on JK/SWs and then get the heck out of the way.

  14. Or perhaps it is simply that I have no desire to socialize with a group. Seriously look at the posts here, and ask yourself logically why anyone would want to subject themselves to having to listen and put up with socializing with these types of people for more than a few minutes.

I understand this is an MMO but it also gives me the ability to ignore people, and I get my socialization outside of this game with people I actually enjoy.

Why should I be forced to join a guild, group or anything of the sort just to play the game and even remotely stand a chance of being successful? I am not demanding or even asking for this game to geared to fit ONLY my preference of playing style. Read my post as my main point was the game might be a tad more enjoyable if EA put a little effort into trying to balance out the teams (by make up of the classes) as it seems now it is just smash or be smashed, neither of which I find to be that enjoyable.

I actually got a permanent 5 point infraction and a ban for stating what you just stated. I think you'll probably get that too soon, you can laugh at the wording in your infraction message. It's really pretty funny. They then threaten you with a perma-ban too.

The people that are making these decisions are inept from the top down, at every level. They seriously think that the current way they are doing things is the best way. They won't change.

I honestly wish they'd just remove instanced PVP altogether. I would rather have open world stuff instead, like with the Rhakghoul event which was more fun that dopey warzones anyway. It's unfortunate this lame game can't actually handle multiple people on the screen at once, and struggles even with 8v8. In beta there was a time where there was 12v12, I personally thought those were the best matches especially in the node map like Alderaan. At that time there was only Alderaan and Huttball, maybe VS got added during 12v12 but I don't think it was.

I still can't believe we can't pick our WZ. The only WZ I would ever queue up for if given the choice is huttball. The rest of these wzs are completely worthless.

  15. Yeah you sound more like a call of duty person which sounds about right.

And if you really think PvP is boring and don't play it anymore then why care about anything PvP?

I don't play FPS, but I do have friends in that competitive scene. I always preferred fighting games and RTS myself.

I post on here to pass the time and because the PVE in this game is very good when you play in groups. It's probably the best group MMO PVE leveling experience you can get. But coordinating schedules to play can be an issue, and if you've done the PVP grind at 50 once you really don't want to do it again. So I post on here to possibly help Biofail improve their PVP, which I know they won't, so it's mostly just to pass the time. I can't play at work so this is the next most interesting Star Wars related thing to do.

  16. If that's how you interpret that then, sure?

There aren't different interpretations, there is only one correct one in this instance. And yes, that is how you wrote it.

The PVP on these forums is more fun than the one in the game. I don't even play it in the game anymore, it was too boring.

  17. Try again.... I have a 9-5, I own my on business on the side, wife, kid, house, and a freaking dog... So no, you just want welfare epics, yet no grouping because somehow you feel you are being treated unfairly...

Your just a whiny little bebe.... As someone said you fit the role of meatbag very well.

I don't need to try again. When someone writes like you it's obvious a lie.

There is no such thing as a "business on the side" that is code for being unemployed.

Saying "a freaking dog" is code for no family or friends.

I am in the solid 6 figure income bracket, I know full well I'm funding most of you people on welfare in this thread.

  18. It will just fall on deaf ears, PLO... There is absolutely NOTHING exclusive to this game except for one's own personal commitment, ability to join a group, and ability to take a loss.

Welfare babies crying for an end to socialism... How ironic....

I like the welfare comment. Someone who has all day to spend on this game with their other similarly unemployed friends talking about welfare.

Typically unintentionally hilarious comment. We can't talk political on these forums, or there'd be a good analogy for your comment.

And yes, your comment was indeed extremely ironic.

  19. Oh I am not going anywhere. I actually rather enjoy facing premades when I solo queue, maybe because I am not a baddie and if we do lose I don't come here with a box of tissues trying to hold back some tears as I make post #318 on this subject.

Yet that is what your very last post stated. You can't even go one post without a direct contradiction. I love it.

  20. I am at the point now where I am never going to solo queue ever again. Not because I cant but because I am so sick of these threads I will now only run groups and punish poor poor pugs. The only time I wont be doing this is when I do ranked. If this game fails because of this I will simply move onto the next one and continue to do this. You can then trace the failure of all PvP to that one guy that thinks like this.

Good, now you don't need to keep whining in this thread anymore since it won't have an effect on you.

And finally, you've admitted what you want to do and what you regularly do, rather than your poor attempts at hiding it. Everyone in this thread already knew this is what you did from your first post, and we've all been laughing as you try to convince us otherwise.

  21.

I don't know what, I am fairly new to MMO games and don't know how others have solved this problem so far.

But some solution should get implemented into this game. PUG and pre-made are similar only if viewed from far, far away. It's a group of players, that is the only similarity. The closer you get to them, more differences you notice and this needs to get addressed by EAWare.

Yeah I don't either. I played this game because I was a huge fan of the KOTOR games, like many others were, and at one point Bioware was a truly great dev. I was on these boards long before the release of the game, and back when this was a public board it was probably the best Star Wars themed board on the internet. It was truly great discussing Star Wars with so many other fans, it was a great community.

I do not know if there are any unique problems to this game versus most MMOs. I know WoW is probably the leader in this genre, but I don't know if they separate the queues or not. For all I know this could just be the industry standard.

  22. I think I'd rather take the loss then get stuck being bored in a game. If your team stinks it won't even really matter anyway, eventually everyone will wind up defending that one node while waiting out the game to end (this is where leaving early may be the smarter choice).

If your team is good someone will cover it especially if they see the node is empty or they see enemy forces moving towards it. Honestly for most of these simple WZ maps, if it's PUG vs PUG especially, you simply don't need to announce incoming or anything else, you should be able to figure out where the enemy is and where they're going just by surveying the tiny little WZ.

When it's a voice chat premade vs a PUG you're going to lose anyway, so it won't even matter. If you need to announce incomings and such you don't even have a chance to be competitive, you'll always be reacting too slowly.

  23. It is obvious that it is physically impossible for a pre-made to lose.

    It has never happened.

PUGs, such as the OP, are clearly outmatched and will never learn the keys to communication nor will he ever have a group of like-minded friends to play with.

Ergo, instead of asking him to improve his gameplay and adapt it is clear that Bioware must restrict groups attempting to play this as a multi-player game.

Simply stated Bioware needs to make this MMO more friendly to solo-players.

They are obviously the core demographic of the population and they must be catered to!

We ran 4-6 premade groups constantly all throughout the day back when my PVP guild was active. I believe my groups lost a grand total of one time in 2 months of doing so. I'm not entirely sure how the other groups did, but it sounded like everyone was winning them too.

Just having proper composition is such a huge advantage. The fact that you almost never run into another premade when you premade as well is just silly. Whenever you PUG you're constantly running into the double premade, when you actually premade all you seem to ever do is run into PUGs. I think we'd actually play another premade maybe twice a week at most.

If your premades can't win, you are exactly the type of premade that is using it as a crutch because you are so bad. It's just such a ridiculous advantage. Anybody that has a triple digit IQ and normal human reaction speed and coordination knows this. Those with sub-100 IQs and really terrible reactions, such that the 1.5s gcd is actually not even enough time for them to react, will constantly make excuses and terrible arguments because that's what they are.

I've stated this many times and I'm very much a believer of this, but stupid people are extremely clever in their stupidity and you'll never win an argument with them. They're so stupid that they simply don't understand and accept commonly held assumptions and beliefs that are accepted as given by normal people. When you aren't bound by logic, consistency or the obvious you can argue and always win by pure attrition. This is also why stupid people also have an absolute hatred of lawyers and any other experts in actual sound argument or facts. They hate being disproven by anyone with a mark of authority.

I know full well the stupid people in this thread will keep going and everything I post is a waste of time, but it can be amusing so I do it. I would prefer more people however jump in and we get a nice giant fiasco.
