  1. I'm presuming (hoping) that there will be class changes, both positive and negative in the patch. If so, PvP players should be allowed to test these changes. Class changes are content for PvP. For example you have overturned certain encounters (classes) for PvP and made some trivially easy to defeat. Test your Ops boss, but offer other long term players an opportunity to opine on changes that affect their play.
  2. Wearing a suit of armor in a warzone is an exploit? Congrats on one of the pettiest complaints I've seen in awhile.
  3. In the general case a healer should outlast a single DPS indefinitely. A DPS should be able to force a healer into a stalemate. Unless the healer gets backup, then the DPS has removed the force multiplier from the other team. That isn't an insignificant achievement. There is no necessity that the healer go down for them to be neutralized as a threat.
  4. Agreed. My only point was that so long as Bolster was better than any gear then gear is irrelevant.
  5. The 5.0 condition was excellent because it made PvP about skill, not gear progression which it should never be. In fact, you did it exactly right by making Bolster go ABOVE the current top tier so that no amount of grinding or exploiting could give you an advantage. Expertise wasn't needed because PvE players couldn't beat Bolster. It was almost exactly how gearing should have been. This is a seriously bone-headed move.

  7. What would happen if you just stopped worrying about it? Could you do that? It seems to me you are letting gear make the game less enjoyable. That's your choice for sure, but you might be happier just letting go.
  8. Perhaps, reminds me of the earlier days of MMORPGs to be honest. I think if people would just calm down and stop worrying about gear so much, they would find that the gear will come with time. I agree the 4.0 and prior system was quicker and painless, but then I think that's the point. I'm sure they are trying to slow things down. Doing it via RNG seems to trigger a lot of players although RNG has been a staple of MMOs for awhile. Yes, it sucks when you don't get what you want after a long time. I think the 5.1 changes are meant to address that. But it's likewise super fun when you get a set piece out of your level 1 crate, like I have on a couple of characters. I'm not saying anyone is wrong for their opinion. I'm just saying that there is another way to look at this. Certainty has its pluses, but it's also has the downside of not allowing for some serendipity in your play to keep things from becoming stale.
  9. I think we should keep the pitchforks and torches in the closet a while longer. As I understand it, this SUPPLEMENTS the system already in place. In other words, we still have a random chance to get specific pieces, this just supplements that. So if you already have the Tier 1 piece, you don't need to earn it again. The only real problem I see is that I'm sure I sold the shells for the Tier 1 pieces I've already earned so there's that. If you get 4 or 5 pieces from the drops, then you might only need to use this system to finish up. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me, but I'll withhold judgment until I see it in practice.
  10. Madness Sorcs were never as survivable or had anywhere near the burst and DPS that Mercs do now. Hell, none of your examples had that. I'm all for leaving Mercs alone, but let's not pretend they aren't OP as heck.

    Stuns.

    Respectfully, stuns and other control effects are essential to making PvP work in this game. While I wish it were not so, because control effects are really not that much fun for the opponent, without them, many classes would be unkillable.
  12. My only beef with the Odessen warzone is how you can get screwed by the blue mods.
  13. Oh the irony! In 4.0 the same people defending Mercs now complained about how unfair Sorcs were. The hate feels differently when it's directed at your favorite class huh guys?
  14. Honestly, I'm happy to have my 15 second Force Speed back and I wish you guys would not try and draw attention to Assassins.
  15. Leave Sorc players out of your fever dreams please. DPS Sorcs were never, ever as powerful as Arsenal Mercs are now.
  16. Sorcs in 4.0 never, ever had the burst Mercs did. Whining players conflated DoT spread with relevant damage. I'm happy that the FOTM rollers have moved on. Long time Mercs players can deal with that hate.
  17. Why should anyone be able to stop escapes? Isn't that the whole point of them? But in any event, it's time to stop deflecting to Sorcerers. You guys got the FOTM title now and all the hate that comes with it.
  18. I remember, hence why I believe it should be the first tick only that breaks the cap. Thus you would have to use it on them while capping.
  19. Honestly, I would prefer if the first tick of DoTs broke caps. Hatred, alone, has no instant way to stop a cap at 30 m unless they spec for it. It wasn't always that way. As for the OPs idea, nope. Mezzes have the drawback of breaking on damage and that should remain. Otherwise mezzes start to look more like stuns, just with 30 m range.
  20. Yes, which is why I find it quite amusing to see all the Merc players advance arguments they rejected 3 months ago. Who knew that hypocrisy had such entertainment value? All that said, Mercs need tweaks, not the gutting I fear they will actually get.
  21. Video or it didn't happen. Everyone knows Mercs don't die, they multiply.
  22. It will probably be a death by a thousand cuts like with Sorcs. Sorcs were nerfed repeatedly, but in their hatred, most would not recognize that the nerfs had any effect until the class was gutted.
  23. The devs are on vacation. Let the Mercs have their time to be OP. Honestly, Mercs are covering up some other classes who are pretty near broken.
  24. Two things: 1) Sorcs NEVER had the damage Mercs do, nor the 3 focus break DCDs. 2) If you can't figure out that a Sorc or an Operative is a healer inside of a couple of seconds, the problem is you.
