  1. The OP states that the team decided that it was an exploit. not that they were using exploits to farm them "In summary, our Terms of Service team took action against a number of accounts that were 'credit farming' to remove them permanently from the game. They also warned and temporarily suspended - but did not ban - a smaller number of accounts for activities on Ilum that were decided to be game exploits." and these people were systematically and repeatedly "exploiting". i would hope that if someone was repeatedly using an exploit they would be banned. since you know you know that you are using an exploit after the first time or two.
  2. no where in any of the responses from bioware stated that they were using that or any other exploit to loot the chests. it states that the players that were suspended were systematically and repeatedly looting containers, that was the exploit. If they were using the exploit they should have been banned not suspended since they were doing it repeatedly. If they were using an exploit and not just taking advantage of(the definition of exploiting) the loot containers on Ilum then someone from bioware should state that. no need to go into detail only state that an exploit was used to respawn the loot containers.
  3. and they only have to be out for the conversations they are required for. you could play with someone else for your entire class story and not use companions once in battle.
  4. you missed the part about them warning and suspending players for farming containers with no evidence of selling.
  5. the OP has nothing to do with what you are talking about. the things you are talking about are banable offences. the OP only mentions looting loot containers systematicly and repeatedly(farming). they are blaming players for finding an easily accessible credit grind that is within the general rules of the game. it is ok to open loot containers. long story short they decided to warn/suspend low level players for farming an area that had little to no mobs, and gave them high level loot and credit drops. so instead of fixing the area by stopping chests from spawnig the sent out warnings and suspending players.
  6. he explains what the exploit they were doing was: "systematically and excessively looting" aka farming the containers. no where does it say they were using an exploit to loot the containers. later he explained that the team decided that the players were exploiting the containers. not that they were using an exploit. Read the OP and the response to a post a few pages later.
  7. yep did it on all my characters just have to go to the shuttle also gets you to about level 4 by doing the crew skill quest and getting the codex entries for all the crew skills.
  8. last i played wow chests were still in many areas. was less than a year ago. especially dungeons, they were locked most of the time so you had to have a rogue of the appropriate level to unlock them.
  9. flashpoints = dungeons. seriously why just why
  10. so you played 4 years without LFD and you didnt remember anyone you grouped with, and 2 years with it and didnt remember anyone you grouped with. sounds like the same thing to me. you are seeing people you remember in SWTOR because there are fewer players on each server. has nothing to do with the "community destroyer called LFD".
  11. the main thing i dont understand is why people were suspended/warned for farming in the first place. every mmo i have ever played has almost encouraged it. they made the chests too easy to get to. then placed the blame on the players for their niave design decesion. what did they expect to happen, low level player goes to ilum to check it out and finds chests he can loot that give better cash than he can get anywhere else at his level and just leave?
  12. what is the challenge of taking you level 1 character to the fleet to pick up the gathering professions. its not intended for you to do so. so they can now suspend you for it if they want. or going back to a low level planet to farm mats since farming is now a suspendable offence. that is the slippery slope that some fear can be caused by these type of rules.
  13. then take the level recomendation and make it a requirement problem solved. no low level could get any
  14. then those players should have been banned for using exploits excessively, but neither the op nor any response from bioware said that the ones suspended were using exploits to respawn the containers. if they would have this whole discussion would have ended. and they wouldn't need to explain the exploit nor would they have to provide any personal info. since "players were suspended for using exploits to respawn loot containers." would be similar to what i have seen from other mmo devs.
  15. slicing was exploited and i did not hear of any suspensions or warnings, you know like this post
  16. yes i blame the developers for creating something(in this case loot containers that respawn) and me using it in the intended way(looting a loot container in this case) and blaming me for looting them. if it were not intended for a level 16 character to loot them it would be easy to show this intent, level requirements on either the containers or the area.
  17. then again i bring up slicing missions pre nerf was worse than this. yet no one using it to get millions of credits were warned nor suspended for bot farming it). i know gettin 8 characters to level 10 and only logging in to start the next mission for each of them is not "normal gameplay" and is "systematic and excessive".
  18. no one is asking for exact details just an answer whether an exploit was being used to farm faster or if farmig the loot chests was an exploit.
  19. no one was banne for farming but some were warned and others were suspended for farming, not crafting nodes but loot chests. i am allowed to go to the area, allowed to loot the chests but not allowed to stay there for what Bioware deems "excessive" periods. when slicing missions were used to make to tons of credits i did not see any warnings or suspensions being handed out, it was just fixed. and was taken advantage of(exploited) until the fix went into place.
  20. or maybe i come from Everquest and am used to sitting in the same place for hours waiting for things to respawn, and i like seeing huge amounts of credits on my inventory screen.
  21. so exploiting in this game means takin a character to an area that is allowed for you to go and farming respawning chests for hours(allowed by every other mmo i have ever played) , not causing them to respawn. no where in any of Bioware's responses to the events said anything about using any exploits to make the chests respawn. if this is not allowed whats to say they allow farming a boss mob with a respawning chest, like the one a guildmate of mine was farming.
  22. no we just wish for the ability to play the game while waiting for a FP group to form. you know questing or farming mats or what ever. not sitting in the fleet station shouting for a group. that is not playing the game nor is it social to me. social is the experience that i have while in the group doing the flashpoint.
  23. again the posts by SR do not say that the people suspended were using exploits. only that they were exploiting loot containers by systematically and excessively looting them. systematically and excessively sounds just like farming to me.
