  1. Honestly, a coordinated team should beat an uncoordinated team. This is not a bad thing. And just so you know, I rarely run premades. I don't think this is a failing on biowares part. It's just a part of the game, that if you're on the losing side, really blows. But how many of these "get rid of premades" would be complaining if they had groups to run with. I'll tell you, hardly any.
  2. It's not really that bad. In the overall scheme of things I would say we're at about 60/40 in favor of the Imps. One side is always going to have an advantage. Sure, does it suck to play premades, yes. Not because premades are unfair, but they're harder to beat, as they should be. I'm sure it really sucks for Imp pugs to play Pub premades. It's just that there is a higher frequency of Imp premades. Although, it does greatly depend on when you're playing and how the queue cycle is playing out. If you keep getting queued with the same team that keeps rolling you or the same group of "green gears" on your team, it's going to feel like heII. But hey, that's the nature of PVP. I think the PVP on this server is pretty good overall.
  3. Dude, I play on the Shadowlands and it is not that bad. Sometimes it blows, but that's PVP. Getting rolled by a premade is not the fault of the premade. I mostly pug and we roll premades. Not all the time, but a good amount. It's all about the premade you're playing and the pug you're with. Some guilds are really good, some guilds are not. But I've pug rolled Drunk Tanks, Death Smile, Death Sentence, Dark Jesters and Lookin Cute just to name a few. But honestly a lot of those guys are good and when they are coordinated, they're hard as heII to beat, as it should be. You can always go to the fleet and try and set up a premade yourself. Man up and deal with it.
  4. The solution to the buff thread not working, is not a nerf thread. All you are doing is mucking up the discussion. It took until the expansion for guardians to get the buffs we needed to become balanced. Shadows have great survivability in PVP. Maybe not direct, but their tool box is full of tools to survive. I see Shadows and Guardians own in PVP. Vanguards, not so much. And as far as pre 2.0, they had the same survivability as guardians, but hit way harder. And since PVP is objective based, until 2.4, you want someone who can solo guard a node. Again, my posts are almost fully PVPcentric. If Shadows need a buff in PVE, then by God they should get it. Just quit throwing us under the bus.
  5. Pre 2.0, Shadow tanks were hands down the best PVP tanks in the game. But that's besides the point. My whole point is, this should not be a nerf thread, it should be a buff thread. Guardians are near perfect as far as tanking is concerned, although I would love a root/slow cleanse. We should be the benchmark for where tanks should perform. Nerfing us does nothing to improve the shadow tank. What we don't want is for all tanks to suck. We want all tanks to perform at their optimal capacity. This thread is counterproductive to that end.
  6. 1. Don't need an argument as this whole thread is a straw man. 2. This is not a PVE thread, its a NERF: Guardian Tanks thread that is not limited to PVE 3. Regardless of my familiarity with the PVE side of things, which I do play, bringing a class down to make up for the failings in another class is asinine. It does no one any good. 4. Thank you 5. Every class has it's pros and cons. And Enure doesn't last, all of that health disappears. And those abilities are particularly useful in PVP. And you can't effect one without the other. 6. Nerfs can serve a function of balance, just not in this case. Nothing has been substantively pointed out that makes guardians OP. So, if you need more mitigation, then ask for it. But just because you think your class sucks, that is no reason to nerf another class into the world of suck. How will nerfing Guardians make up for the shadow's inability to handle spike damage? Answer: IT WON'T
  7. There's nothing to argue. Im only addressing PVP. There is balance there and the classes are fine for the most part. I don't care about the PVE side of things as I hardly play it. So there may be imbalance there, I don't know. No one has given a real viable reason to nerf guardians. Nothing about them is OP, NOTHING. I've played one since head start and have always played it as a tank. We don't have true self heals, 3% and 8%(if using the vindicator set bonus) aren't self heals. We don't have stealth and we can't cleanse movement impairing effects unless we use our CC breaker. I loved the class then and I love the class now. There is no reason to nerf us. If you need a boost, then ask for that. But don't come here with this "Liberal my-situation-sucks-so-yours-should-too" attitude.
  8. God, these whiny Shadows. Guardians are far from OP. In PVP, we have our advantages and our disadvantages. Vanguards have theirs as well as Shadows. I've played since beta and let me tell you, as far as PVP is concerned, we are finally balanced. We have great survivability and utility and sh*t dps. Our mobility is meh, we can get rooted and slowed repeatedly which pretty much neutralizes the class. That is called balance. L2P!!!!!!!
  9. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/ghrs.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/407/3fdc.jpg/ It's mostly the Eradicator's set with a secondary gray die. The gloves are commando gloves. I really liked the tanky look to 'em.
  10. I don't think it should add to resolve, but if the bar is full, you should not be able to be rooted.
  11. I agree with your post. The only other alternative is a root cleanse that is potentially attached to an ability like Focused Defense. I do think roots should respect resolve regardless, because for a melee class a root is basically a stun/mezz.
  12. Danm it!!! I'm now caught in a paradoxical loop of lame!!!!
  13. I found this thread on the 3rd page so I had to respond to as it has moved from the lame zone of the first 2 pages.
  14. Apparently you've not experienced this bug enough. If it is happening on multiple people's computers regardless of their build and internet speed, logic would tell you that it's not latency or lag on our end. The common denominator is SWTOR. Also, if it were lag or a latency issue, then it would not fail when jumping to a stationary target. Especially one who has been stationary for 15-20 seconds. So dude, learn what you're talking about before you post. You only serve to detract from the conversation to get a bug, that is a huge deal btw, fixed.
  15. These would be my 3 questions, if I got to ask: Question 1 - Is there a fix on the way for the Leap/Intercede bug? Question 2 - Can we get a root/slow cleanse on a shorter CD or maybe attach it to Focused Defense? Question 3 - Would the Devs be willing to implement changes we suggested or other ones to the Focus tree?
  16. As far as looks go, both have some kick a88 options. But looking at it from a gameplay standpoint, the 2 advanced classes are totally different. Sentinel - Pure Unadulterated DPS. Guardian - Amazing Tank & a DPS spec (if you so choose). If you have no desire to tank go sentinel. If you do not care about DPS, go guardian. They are both really good classes that are worlds different from each other.
  17. There's a bit of a conundrum in your post. If you found something worth responding to on the 3rd or 4th page, it would then get moved to the first page, thus making it lame and not worth responding to. You would then be caught in what is called the Lame Paradox, it is similar to the Grandfather Paradox.
  18. It all depends on the server and the time you're playing. I'm on the Shadowlands and I would say that PvP favors the Imps 60/40.
  19. Here's what I know. - Level change seems to be moot as it happens if I am on the same plane. - Regardless if the target is moving or stationary, I will come up short. - Seemingly random, as there is not a common denominator that I am aware of. - I think it's noticed in Huttball more often, because that's when it screws people over the hardest. - It happens with Guardian Leap as well as Force Leap. The only idea I could come up with is that when you shortened the distance for the scamper ability for scoundrels when they are slowed, it may have bled to where slows impair the leap ability as well (just a thought). Regardless, can we get an update please?
  20. The only bummer about this band-aid is that jumping is needed to avoid LOS issues. It's a bit of da**ed if you do and da**ed if you don't, which blows. If they said hey "We know it's a bug and we're looking into it" or "It's lag" or "It's working as intended" that would be awesome. Just some kind of acknowledgement would rule.
  21. Maybe it's this kind of attitude that gets you no response. Complain away.
  22. Congrats on being voted the representative for guardians. I have 2 major concerns. They are more centered around pvp. 1. The leap bug is causing major problems in pvp and pve(although I rarely pve). As guardians, we rely on that ability to place us where it should. If you happen to be unfamiliar with this bug, it is where we will guardian or force leap to a target and fall way short of where I am supposed to land. It is not lag, as this will happen even if the target is stationary. In huttball, especially, this can cause a team to lose the game. It is also ungodly frustrating. 2. I think a movement impairing cleanse would be awesome. Like resolute, but it only affects roots and slows. It would be on a shorter cool down 30 or 45 secs. The reason I propose this is that for us to get rooted is essentially the same as getting stunned. Not as bad, but definitely hindering. Since root and slow do not respect resolve, we can get rooted over and over again with no recourse. I think an ability that could cleanse would level the playing field a bit. Having it on a short but respectable CD would prevent it from making slows and stuns useless. Thanks for taking this on. And if you have any feedback on what I proposed, please share.
  23. You do realize that guardian leap doesn't root due to the fact you're leaping to a friendly? So no, you have not seen this, as it does not occur. It's a bug, plain and simple. I would just like a dev to respond and at least acknowledge there's a bug. Because as of now, it appears they don't give a s**t.
