You can go ahead and kill this thread. They've already stated they're implementing warzone selection, ranking and stat tracking, etc. You can bet arenas are somewhere in the pipeline, too.

So you cancelled a subscription to a game that is designed as a time sink, because it was a time sink. You do realize that games like this change month to month? Why are so many people rage-cancelling their subscription plans like BW is going to send them flowers? They'll evaluate this stuff and adjust it. My goodness, everyone needs to go have a drink...once you're of age.

Totally. The anonymity of the internet does nothing to corrode peoples' already sub-human interactions with peers on online games. it's entirely due to cross-server queues. I'm baking cookies for a friend on my server right now who I met in a flashpoint. He's good peeps, and I want him to know I'm there for him.

I'm confused- is it the cover system you don't like? or the system latency? You haven't really made any points about the concept and execution of the cover mechanic.

While I agree with this in theory, it's not true in reality. You probably know this, too. Realistically, there's some sort of emergent property which results from a group of people playing an internet game. I think it's referred to as "down syndrome".

Interesting thoughts. I have no issues as a melee with the server/client synch. I'm sure you've already updated your firewall to forward appropriate ports for the game and checked your connectivity with your ISP. I don't know what else you can check. I don't have a super connection, but I don't have latency issues either. PS if you word it differently, you might convince people that you aren't just raging about getting rolled by every ranged class in the game.

I fully expect a ranking system and arenas at some point. It's the only way to legitimize the pvp end game. What? No game launches with all the stuff in place. It's been out for 3 weeks and their pvp gear already. That's miles ahead of other games. Have you played other MMO RPGs before? Do you understand that these games are just grinds which rarely have any story up until the past 10 years? All games are grinds. If you aren't grinding experience levels, you're grinding ranks or pvp levels. Don't try to tell yourself that you're doing anything other than sinking time into a game for no real reason.

I'm wondering this myself. I'm inclined to say that it accounts for dmg reduction through taunts. I guess an easy test would be to NOT guard for a match. I might try that tonight. I also wonder if it accounts for other things (like smash's accuracy debuff)? That sort of thing would be harder to track, though. Probably not.

Defensive gear. Speccing for defense while equipping for damage is almost as hilarious as speccing for damage and equipping for defense.

Thanks, i'm not sure I'm ready to spend the money on windows 7 just yet. i'm not having issues with fps or anything. the game just isn't using my screen's resolution for the 3d environments. I have seen that ATI tutorial, and followed it everytime. Strangely, it's like there are still the same old drivers on there and they won't update.

Do you know what the old driver is or where that post is? I've been looking for 3 days and found neither. The omega drivers won't install on my 2010 imac. or rather, I forced the install cleanly, the drivers updated, but it's showing thes ame old version that I had before in device manager. i'm going to try upgarding to Lion OS and bootcamp 4. At this point, i've tried everything else.

You hit trouble at Cademimu? You were 1 level below the recommended. I agree immortal will out tank vengeance, but I'm leveling vengeance until 40 or so, and I tank everything fine. Just make sure you're a level or two above and your healer is as well. In fact, Me and my lvl 33 friend just duo'd cad last night with companions.

I play immortal to top the protection in warzones. No one is mentioning taunts? If nothing else, juggs should just be guarding, snaring and taunting. Everything else is bonus.

I've tried the omega drivers that worked for many others in this thread (squished, fat 3d graphics error). Unfortunately, this did not work. I had trouble with the install, and basically had to force it manually through device manager. What's strange to me is that I've tried 4 different versions of AMD drivers in the past 2 weeks. Many people with similar or the same systems have had success in resolving the issue using one of these solutions, but I still have none. No matter how cleanly I uninstall an old driver and install a new one, the driver version and date is always the same when I check its properties. In other words, I can uninstall the components completely (add/remove programs, device manager uninstall, ddriver sweeper), reboot with no recognized display driver, and install successfully (whether it be omega drivers, catalyst performance 11.11a, etc.). But no matter which drivers I use, when I do a clean install, they show the same version every time- 8.7.... People who resolve the issue claim to install 8.9, but I literally can't find such a thing anywhere. I use the same mirrors to download as they do, the same .exe and everything. It's like my computer cannot upgrade beyond 8.7 something. I'm running bootcamp v3.2 (the most current version available for snowleopard OS running XP 32 bit). Others have resolved the issue with the same setup, so I'm not sure what's wrong with my system. I'm about to call AMD, but I don't think they'll be much help. The only thing I can think of for a potential solution is to buy and install Windows 7 in hopes that I can update bootcamp and maybe install a more current driver with the new OS. However, I'm hesitant to spend $100 on a speculative answer. Any help? At this rate, I'm going to have to try and return the game (which I don't think will be possible). I've waited 4 years and did everything in my power to make sure I could run this, and I'm finally starting to think that it's just not possible.

I haven't commented in this thread yet. Im liking the juggernaut a lot. I am also the type of person who doesn't really complain that my class is broken. I usually try to figure out how to improve, and I tend to play gimped classes pretty well i think. (For people who played wow, I was a balance druid in full pvp epics topping most BGs in dmg AND heals before balance had moonkin form). Anyways, I'm only lvl 33 now, and I'm loving the class. I specced vengeance for now because I wasn't sure about Rage, and I thought I would solo through leveling faster as DPS spec. I fully intend to play this class as a tank though. I'd like to hear what you folks use for rotations, though. I certainly don't have it all figured out, although I think I do pretty well. I need to get into the habit of building more sunder stacks on elite mobs, though. I usually keep ravage going anytime I can, I'll build some rage up and use impale>scream for a big combo rage dump. Smash anytime it's up (ruin talent ftw) and viscious slash if I have rage but impale and scream are on CD. Unless I'm finishing one enemy off, I try to keep enough rage at any given time so I can hit retalition every time it lights up. Force choke to tie up a tough mob and quickly build some rage. Force push>pommel strike when I want to put a huge dent in a strong mob. Tell me your thughts!

This is a bit of a departure from most of this thread so far. However, I have no in-game sound. (I also have the issue of stretched graphics making the game unplayable, but I'm going to try the Omega driver suggestion tomorrow). The sound plays in the launcher when it's finished file checking, but once I log into the actual game there's nothing. Some have had this issue with a number of different cards which was remedied by opening the sound card control panel and changing a certain option. I have a 2010 iMac with the Cirrus Logic sound card. As far as I can tell, there is no panel where I can change any settings for this card. I've tried updating the drivers, but they appear to be up to date. Does anyone have this card or is familiar with ways to adjust settings on it?
