Here's what I"m running, with zero lag.........and ungodly FPS so far.
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDE00ZFBGRBOX
EVGA 012-P3-1578-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) Classified 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
2 x Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 996995 (16GB RAM Total)
My only weak point is my hard drive, which is a 1TB 7200RPM Western Digital Caviar Black Edition.
And then spare 500GB 7200RPM Western Digital Caviar Black.
This rig cost me about $1300.00 with a new Cooler Master Full Tower, assembled myself. Geeksquad? Seriously?
I think you took it up the wazoo dude.

Bestbuy said they won't take it back because of Star Wars not working. Should I try to break it so I can get it replaced with the warranty?
Now I know this is a troll thread.
-
ok, i understand now. thanks for clearing this up for me.
how long are these batteries supposed to last? and are they replaceable?
I think they said the batteries last for a few years.
Don't think they are replaceable. We would need to buy new security keys down the road and register the new serial number to it.
And you're welcome
-
ok, so i have one of these security key things, and i was wondering exactly how it works before i add it to my account forever.
do i have to click it and enter the random code every time i log in?
or do i click it once and memorize the code it gives me?
Cause its supposed to help prevent from hacking right? so what if the hacker has his own security key thing? couldn't he enter the code his key gives him and then that is taken care of?
Someone please tell me how this works, cause it says once you add it to your account, you have to use it forever. thanks.
And the serial number from each "pog" or "security key" tells the system the valid codes for that particular serial number for each pog.
Even if a hacker has their own security key, they don't necessarily display the same codes.
That's why you enter the serial number for the key when you register it to your account. It tells the servers which key is yours and the valid codes it will generate.

Yes. It's two factor authentication, so you will have to generate a code each time you log in.

Having to use a credit card or subscribe to the game to get their 30 free days.
New or not to MMO's, that's pretty dumb.
Plus it also says "I'll only be here 30 days!"......which makes even less sense to me. The fun part of an MMO is to watch what it develops in to.
-
With the deceptive marketing practices of the digital items in the deluxe and collector's editions and now the deceptive marketing practices of the 30-day free trial, it's quickly becoming apparent how Electronic Arts likes to do business.
Have you ever played an MMO before?
Do some research. EVERY MMO makes you do this. If you don't wish to stay, you cancel before you are billed. Simple as that.
*looks at watch* Is 30 days up yet? Already tired of the 30 day free riders.

I received a message yesterday from Gamestop, saying they expect SWTOR to arrive "tomorrow night" (meaning Monday night).
But, the message didn't say if I could pick it up tonight. I'm assuming they meant at midnight.
Doesn't matter though, I can pick it up on the way home tomorrow. Servers will be down tonight anyway.
-
Dee dee deeee...
^This. A WHOLE lot of this.
-
Yup. I'll pay for as long as I'm having fun.
Glad to have a Star Wars themed MMO again, and this has some serious potential.
-
First off I appreciate your pressing matter that "could be improved" in the game will be more important than mine. (The trading centre, for example. The queue, and what have you.) But I still feel the need to express this as positively as I can. This is not an offensive post and I am sorry if I offend you in anyway.
Beneath is quite a lengthy post in regards to animations regarding our characters. We cannot lie down, we cannot sit in chairs. So . . . the "too long, didn't read" factor is at the bottom if you are pressed for time. And here we go.
- - -
Am I the only one to think this—
Interaction with the environment—in any game—ushers in a faction called immersion. Good immersion means you're so immersed in the game that scarce few things manage to break it. This might not bother some . . . but it can break the immersion of others and ultimately hinder their game's enjoyment.
Little elements enable good and friendly immersion—again in all games. The basic notion to sit, to lie down, to cross arms . . . NPCs have these animations! The "sit" animation we have is quite unflattering for a female character (legs open so wide?) and with every race having the exact same animations for sit . . . surely offering more than one animation would allow for a sense of being unique in a setting whilst sitting? NPCs have (to my count) at least two different sits, and five animations of lying on down. Can we not have these animations if NPCs can manage them fine?
Chairs or sofas (or couch depending on your version of English!) are situated within our ships. We can sit in them. So there is a proof that they can and have thought of allowing us to sit in chairs, no?
In the emote tab, half the animations do not work. I can only assume this is because they are not implanted, they have been removed or are working as intended. Take the emote to "cross arms." It does nothing. Why? Are we not capable of typing "/e crosses arms"? Must we have a useless and animation-blank emote to accomplish this? What was the point in wasting time even coding the text "crosses arms" into the emote feature if it accomplishes nothing at all?
The world its self is massive, beautiful and stunning to explore. But the lack of interaction with it is startling. There are a vast amount of cantinas scattered across the galaxy and not one of them allows us to sit down in the many chairs, stools and sofas—despite them clearly being a hub of possible social activities. They were in the Star Wars universe at least.
It's not just role-players that will shout for this "interaction" with the Star Wars universe. Disabling it cripples immersion. And considering SW:TOR has been sold and exclaimed an an RPGMMO, disregarding this (I think at least!) will be devastating in the long run.
Thank you for reading.
(tl;dr: Can't sit. Can't lie down. NPCs have more sit/lie animations than we do. Chairs work on ships, but not in cantinas.)
Agreed. Immersion is a big thing to me.
Hopefully they get these things in!

No thinking involved.........UPS or Amazon should pay for that.......give you some kind of compensation.

My time with Swtor is giving me nothing. This is how my story goes.
First of all, i wanted to get into the open beta. I registred a account that could not be activated trough the link. I wanna add that the activation mails took there time. After failing to lauch my first account i tried another one. Same story. Anyway i could not get the registration to work untill the 15/12 when i made my 3td account.
Whan i bought the game from my reseller they named the wrong shipping dates and my pregame activation mail was late. When i finally made it to the game. The servers ware qued down to the maximum. We still have 1 /1/2 ques. I get this. Maby not so strange at launch. But it still pisses me of to wait all days becase of game crashes, back to que.
I do like the game. Its a perfect copy of other peoples work. Call it torrenting information if you like. But if you are to copy somthing, atleast make the game work. Now pls unstuck me and put me back on the server so i can play what i pay for. And pls gm´s. Stop ignoring ppl.
I just got a mail from a dev saying im not helping them by spamming the forums. I quess im not. But then again they are here to help me, im not paying to help them. And if they keep ignoring posts and gm tickets. They had it comming.
I would love to se this game make it. But this game funny as it really is, aint working.
Personally, if I was a dev, I'd e-mail you to tell you I think you're an a-hole. "Perfect copy of other people's work".
If you guys are so miserable, why can't you just leave? Have to troll and QQ the Dev's work.
-
It's this simple.....
Be patient.
Or leave.
They said they were going to update the Pop Caps. That's what a lot of the maintenance is, that will be going on tonight.
And I suppose you'll QQ that, well it was Early Access. It should have been perfect from the start. Guess what? There's a reason they give Early Access. It's a last shot for the companies to get things right before launch!
So I hate to be blunt, but either you wait to see how things work out, or you just go. *shrug*

I got a very general phone call that "Star Wars the Old Republic should be arriving tomorrow evening".
Rather..........general wouldn't you say?
Doesn't matter, I won't be awake at midnight LOL I'll be back at full speed Tuesday.
-
I'm doing both.
However, a Sith on the Empire side. And a Smuggler on the Republic side.
Jedi......meh.
-
I'm doing both.
-
I'm all for updates and bug fixes, trust me, but that doesn't justify a 5 hour down window across all major NA time zone's evening hours.
Every game launch that I have been in, EA ends early so the servers can be brought up for launch.
Trust me, I want to go home and fill my addiction after work today, but they will be down by the time I get there. But, whatever makes the servers ready for actual launch.
-
Think it through. You're only really banning a guy who got his account hacked not a seller.
So it should be OK? Let the spammer remain?
They can work through back channels to get the guys account restored, if he realizes that his account is hacked and wants to get it restored, it can be done.
-
Totally agree.
It's up to us to bring it to BW/EA's attention. Hopefully they will crack down on it.
-
Friends? What are they?
I can haz friends?
-
the +9000 to e-peen wasn't enough, you want more?
lmfao!

Haven't noticed anything different. I met some great guys with who I had a blast doing Heroic quests, but I've also met utter fools in chat, and rude immature sobs in Flashpoints. I've seen people invite others to kill a certain boss mob, I've seen people ninja mobs or items from under the nose of those clearing the area to get to them. I've seen people sharing items, I've seen others ninja items.
Sadly the good does not compensate the bad that well. That one guy who invited me for Mandalorian Raiders, then kicked me right away, and sent me a whisper "*********** ******e, you're level 24, I need 25+. Idiot, go level more noob" ruined my experience last night. And I generally don't even care what illiterate fools say.
Let's not pretend this community is all about eating rice pudding with golden spoons.
Hopefully, a lot of the "Bad" are in the "I"m only playing for my 30 free days and then I on to my next HACKZORZ SUCKZORZ life experience".
Bought an ultimage gaming rig, and game is still laggy!
