  1. If it is such a crappy game, why are people so anxious to get in to EGA? I am very critical of how Bioware managed the expectations of EGA access. SR post at the end of the day, should have been emailed to everyone or posted on the forums several days before the start of EGA. IMO, the issue is one of communications not of improper design of the EGA itself.
  2. Don't worry. Everyone will be in by Friday. Yesterday was so slow because such a huge % of the preorders happened within a few days of 7/21.
  3. The only thing worse than the complainers are the people complaining about the complainers. Good lord, people are very excited to start playing the game ... DEAL WITH IT!!! And people need to practice a little patience; everyone will get in soon enough ... ALSO DEAL WITH IT!!!
  4. 8/29 here. All of August will definitely get in today. It's just a matter of which wave. Hopefully, the vast majority of the people who preordered right after the 7/21 opening preorders have gotten in all ready. Once the through that group, August & September preorder will get in very quickly. There just weren't that many preorders during this time.
  5. I'd say all of August is guaranteed today. Need to remember that pre-orders didn't come in linearly. Right after the 7/21 opening there was a huge spike. Then there would have been a big spike at the announcement of the release date (which I believe was 10/24). Then there would be spikes for each beta weekend, lifting of NDA, stress tests, announcement of the EGA details etc etc. I would be shocked if today's EGA waves don't include all of Aug, Sep and at least part of the release date spike in pre-orders.
  6. I wonder why he doesn't have a red lightsaber?
  7. The way I see it the problem is twofold: 1) They have relied too much on Twitter & not enough on e-mails or the official forums to manage the expectations of their customers. If people were given a broad estimate of when you could expect to get access, the complainers would have been a very small minority. 2) Building on point 1, the EGA process seems completely different than what was experienced by the player base during the Thanksgiving Stress Test. People were expecting EGA to be just like the stress test, but Bioware has not done a good job communicating that the two experiences would be significantly different.
  8. I'll be satisfied if someone from BW posts what they have learned so far from the early waves and what the rest of us can expect over the next few days. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm not getting in today, but yet I'm still trolling the forums in hopes of getting a better idea of when I will get in. I believe that 80% of the frustration & complaints are due to the lack of a soft estimate of when people will get in.
  9. I completely AGREE with this sentiment. Bioware has done such a good job of managing expectations up to this point. Why they dropped the ball on their communications on the details of EGA is baffling. I'm not sure if it was a post in this thread or another, but someone else posted that relying so much on Twitter today makes all of BW's communications sound like a bunch of politicians.
  10. +1 ^^ I'd be perfectly content waiting while peacefully trolling the forums. But all the QQ Ragers vs. Fanboi Defenders flame war posts, does nothing to create an enjoyable community and make trying to pass time on the forums infuriating.
  11. +1 to the OP. If nothing else, this would have tempered the flame wars between the QQ'ers and the Fanbois. There is absolutely no moderation which IMO does nothing to engender a good player community.
  12. I have no problems with how they are handling early release. Although, I think the communication from BW has been pretty poor. Going in to this I anticipated a very conservative Day 1 of EGA with a lot more waves in the subsequent days. A lot of my opinion was formed because of Tweets by SR. But they could have avoided a ton of these complaints by managing peoples expectations heading in to EGA. There should have been a more detailed explanation in the forums about what to expect during EGA. Especially considering, they seem to be handling EGA much differently than they handled the Turkey Day tests.
  13. If he's playing, that would be enough for me to cancel my account.
  14. I'm able to accept the waiting for EGA. But I'm super raging that I can't access 'My Account' section to fix my signature!!!!!!!
  15. I'm an 8/29. I'm thinking tomorrow almost guaranteed. After the July pre-orders the rate of pre-orders slowed down considerably. Plus, I think they are going deliberately slow this morning. Things will pick up this afternoon and I bet by tomorrow the waves will be pretty fast.
