  1. Datacrons are about as well thought out as everything else in the game tbh, so they fit right in. They're a one time thing that you have to do so your character isn't gimped, they're tedious, buggy and 99.9% (officially made up number) of the population follows a guide to do them. And then has to do them again for every alt. They're a chore, they reward not exploration but your google skills and your patience, and by the time you're on the 3rd alt you wanna kill yourself just thinking about the tatooine balloon.
  2. It's so funny when people try to find something good to say about the game and all they can come up with is "it's voiced".
  3. WoW feels like a living, breathing world. When you are in your capital city, you can just ride off to the distance towards any direction you like, pass through mountains, rivers, oceans, see countless creatures moving around in a proper day/night cycle, dynamic weather changes and all that fluff. It's stuff that I only came to appreciate after I picked up swtor. The disjointed planets felt so sterile and railroaded, I just couldn't stand it. I'd say it's the biggest problem of the game, at least in my eyes, because it's a fundamentally wrong design that can't ever be fixed without changing the entire game world. The world in wow (and most decent mmos actually, it's not like wow invented this) gives you a feeling of freedom that swtor is desperately lacking. I just felt boxed in every planet I visited in swtor. Maybe if it was easier to travel between planets without having to go through all those loading screens and somehow convey the feeling of traveling rather than a series of loading screens, it would be easier to stomach.
  4. Ok, the facts. They sold 2 million copies in the first month. Out of those 2 million copies, everyone who bought it in January was necessarily still subscribed when the last figures were released. Everyone who doesn't use a credit card and had to buy a gamecard to play the free month was also necessarily still considered a subscriber. From the numbers floating around it's estimated that they sold about 1.5 million units in December. Out of those 1.5 million we can only guess how many were credit card users. Let's assume a 50-50 split. That would mean that out of 750k people that could have unsubbed before Feb 1, 300k did actually unsub. That's almost 40% in the first month. The really funny numbers gonna appear in the next report.
  5. Don't you worry, its spirit will live on. Maybe Cameron will make a movie out of it in a few years; never let go.
  6. If you want proper endgame go play some other mmo nolifer. Swtor was designed for people who enjoy casual forum pvp only so it doesn't disrupt their rich social lives.
  7. Funny as you may think you are, isn't this their current idea of difficulty modes?
  8. I was shocked the first time I noticed there's no deep water anywhere in the game. After a while I realized that it's the least of its problems.
  9. You're generally right. There's plenty of threads all over the forums where many people, myself included when I was still playing the game and during the beta, gave plenty of specific feedback. This thread here was about a blog, not specific gameplay problems. So the statements are broader, more generic. I don't think I should have a signature attached with specific feedback about everything I believe the game is doing wrong to validate every post I make. This discussion is off-topic for this particular thread. I do not like the game for many reasons. These reasons can be found in many other threads in the general forum, the flashpoints forum, the class forum, the pvp forum, etc. Right now, in here, the specific reasons are irrelevant. It's sufficient for the scope of this thread to just say that I don't like the game and comment on the subject of the thread. And I would like to be able to do so without a number of people jumping at my throat over this as if I'm some kind of infidel.
  10. How more constructive do you want it to be than "it's boring", "it's too easy", "it's too repetitive", "it's too laggy" etc? The players are not game developers, they're not supposed to tell them how to make the game, just if they like it or not. Some might be able to pinpoint what exactly they didn't like, some might not.
  11. Thanks for your contribution. Just one question though if I may. You're only considered a customer if you like the game right? If you don't like it, you're not a customer anymore, just a TROLLING WHINER? Just checking to see if I got it right.
  12. I don't know, because they expected more? Because they're pissed? Because they hope something might still change? If you wanna know specifically about me, I don't "stay". I pop by once a week or so when I'm bored to check out the general forum and maybe post something while my subscription is still running. Is that a problem? Would it be preferable if I just shut up and didn't voice my discontent? I know the mods would surely be happier if all the unsatisfied customers would just suck it up and disappear.
  13. Because they got an active subscription? Which means they paid money and usually when you pay money for something it's fair to assume you got some interest for it? That's unless this money was handed to you by your parents in which case you don't appreciate their value.
  14. There's the people who like WoW and expected WoW 2.0 and are disappointed since the game is worse than WoW on pretty much every common feature they share. And then there's the people who hate WoW and expected something new and exciting and are equally disappointed because the game is just a poor imitation of WoW with no depth, no balance, no customization, no optimization, nothing. Finally there's the people who are happy with it and honestly, after reading these forums for months, I have yet to figure why exactly they are happy with it. The game doesn't really have any redeeming qualities. You could argue that for 60 euros it's a decent deal for one playthrough to last you a month. Personally I ended up paying 90 euros cause I had to buy an extra gamecard to play the first month and that's not a fair deal really, considering I haven't touched it since early January and I still got almost a month of active subscription left. Overall good blog, it captures all this pretty accurately.
  15. Good for you. It really says a lot about the state of the game when every fan feels inclined to make a new thread saying that he actually likes it. Mods leaving these threads up is even funnier.
