  1. Hot diggity, you guys are still down! I certainly understand that happens, but I hope ya'all learn from your mistakes here and maybe put some safeguards in place to avoid a future repeat. I mean, I read some of the arguments and I understand that some people should have a back up plan, and go take a break. I certainly did, but that was 4 maybe 5 hours ago. This is a little discouraging as person whom made damn sure they didn't let their subscription lapse so I could be the first to enjoy some fine new content. Anyhow, God Speed to ya'all, and may Good Mother Fortune temper the fiery resentment and foul moods this whole incident has provoked with some damn good story and game play. You see, we all come here to escape the mundane, isn't that right, folks? We've been working and going to school and doing chores, all that stuff, right? We wanna be in a galaxy far, far away! Let those lightsaber's vroom and those blaster cannon's boom, we're all itchin' to play! We can be forgiving, sure. But let's get this caboose rolling for gotssake!
  2. Yes, can we please get this fixed. It's one of my favorite decorations and its a drag to see them not working.
  3. Wait, you need to step outside the box because you see crafting in an extremely limited capacity. I rarely use the items I craft (unless I'm leveling a new toon,) I sell them. And, trust me, if you can reverse engineer, say a great implant or earpiece, with the right stats, you can make a lot of credits, no matter the level. But it's not easy. It's a huge time and resource investment. But if you are (were) up to the challenge, the payback was well worth it. Not to mention it was fun! This whole process is being nuked. As far as variation in crafted items goes, I'm sorry, it's being dumbified. We'll all be making the same 2 or 3 variations of an item (as opposed to hundreds of variations in some cases,) and undercutting to the point it won't even be worth crafting items to sell. And, not to mention, it will be boring. I'm not unreasonable. If BW feels that crafting need a few minor tweeks I would be okay with that. But they are dumbing it down to such an extremity that a very fun and unique aspect of the game is going for good - Hiroshima style. I stand by my original statement. The game is going through the process of dumbification. And there are a lot of crafters in this game that are not happy at the moment. The Cartel Market already killed half of the crafting in the game and now the rest is off to the gallows in the name of transient players. R.I.P Swtor Crafting. R.I.P my kick *** aim/surge/crit/accuracy implant that I spent days and days perfecting. P.S. If you feel like the people that don't understand the difference between aim and cunning need help, try explaining it to them. That's what I do. That's what veteran players are there for.
  4. Trust me, crafting is being dumbified. The vast majority of items (anywhere from 50 to 75%) that can be crafted now will become obsolete in 4.0. Dumb-dee-dumb-dumb. But we need to watch out for the 1 player in 500 that doesn't understand the difference between aim and cunning, right?
  5. I've spent countless hours and resources r-engineering schematics in order to buy what I want without spending more that 15 dollars a month. Apparently it was a waste of time, no? Hello, Bioware? Why? Let me guess, less crafted goods on the market = more cartel goods on the market, right? Boo! I might understand tweaking the crafting system a little, but this is no minor tweak - this is a decimation. This is an atom bomb. I'm beside myself on this one. No wonder you have yet to make an official announcement. Your players aren't going to be happy and you know it. Grrrr!
  6. I have not paid much attention to exactly when all details are released in the past, so I will take your word for it. And I realize there is some minimal promotion going on too. I'm just really surprised that there is nothing on the official website. More than anything that is what confounds me. With RotHC, GSF, Strongholds, and Revan, (all "major" updates/expansions) there was a dedicated page on their website long before a week out. But, whatever, this is not the first time Bioware has confused me. I guess I just care about the game. Many of my friends, friends since release, have recently stopped playing. Maybe if they had easier access to what is coming to the game they might at least come back and have a look... But, then again, maybe not.
  7. It's a week out from the release of 3.2, one of two major game expansions and/or updates of 2015 and I am surprised to see no promotion on the site or other media outlets. I am familiar with the content released on the test server, but I have heard rumors that there is more content included in the update including a new arena map and a one boss operation. Is Bioware waiting until release date to give us all the details or is the content on the test server all that will be released with the update? Typically several weeks before a release of a "major update" there is a big push to promote it, including a page on the official site. However, with 3.2 there has been nothing of the sort. I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that there is additional content. The 2 hours of game play on the PTS was fun, granted, but it wasn't anything like previous "major" game updates. Do we already have all the details or is there more to 3.2 than has been announced? And why is Bioware not hyping their next major update? What up, Austin?
  8. Yeah, I can't find a way to solo the last story arc fp, or any of them for that matter. It sucks. I don't mind doing it in a group, but the queue is dead.
  9. Yeah, I suppose I was just had some extreme bad luck. I have got a crit a couple of times now. But it still seems far less often for me. And this is my main. All my companions are at full affection.
  10. Update: After numerous missions, and the entire damn day, I have Verpine Fiber X 3, and Havod x 214. It's not encouraging, but I'll take it.
  11. I have been running 450+ Investigation missions all day, (and have been at 500 for many hours,) and have not once got the new purple research compound, Verpine Fiber. To put this in perspective, I currently have 178 blue research compound, Havod. I am running six crew members non-stop. Am I just having an incredibly bad luck streak, or do you have to have a mission in order to get it, or is it bugged? Does anyone know? I'm a little baffled at this point.
  12. I might try that. Using my keys to turn. It just sucks because the whole reason for getting the mouse was to avoid clicking and keyboard turning. It looks like I may have to do one or the other in warzones. It's flustering, I say. Maybe I just need some more practice. As of now I am using the w button as forward and a and d to strafe. But it is not working well when I have to click so damn often. If it were only once in a while that would be a different story., but I have to click a ton.
  13. But I only see an option to assign any keys to players 1 through 4. How do you get 5 through 8?
  14. Please, can someone tell me if there is a way to program a Razer Naga to auto target more than four group members? I find it extremely troublesome having to click every time I want to heal. It disrupts my movement. Any tips?
  15. Yes, I was fooled. On closer inspection the website does claim to be satirical. Apologies. It is funny, because it sounds right on the mark.
  16. So I did some digging and found this article: http://www.mmo-troll.com/exciting-new-mechanics-coming-to-swtor/ It doesn't mention specifics, but it does talk about some possible changes coming to the game in 2014.
  17. I'm glad to see BioWare add space combat to the game. I'm sure it will draw new players. However, it's not something I'm personally interested in, and I know several other players who feel likewise. Has anyone heard anything about new content beyond 2.5? I would love to see a higher level cap and some new story content in 2014. Even though I am not really interested in Galactic Starfighter, I admit that it is really cool to see an entirely new game play system implemented. It leaves me feeling optimistic about the future of the game.
  18. I started to download 11G today, however I never hit the "Play" button. If I understand correctly this means I will only have to download the current patch, right? I realize this has probably been answered already, but I don't want to dig through 60+ pages of posts to get an answer. By the way, Bioware, this is ludicrous. I will not be happy if I have to reinstall the entire game... Luckily I still have the original DVD-ROMs. Maybe that will help me bypass a large portion of the reinstall process. Blah! Epic blunder!
  19. Agreed. From what I've read you are going to have to buy the species unlock. So basically they're going to put a very fancy cosmetic piece for sale in the cartel market and call it an "update." I would much rather see a new WZ or flashpoint that I didn't have to pay cash for.
  20. I feel the expansion was worth $10.00. I only wish that it had not taken so long to get here. And honestly I would have rather paid $30-40 for an expansion with much more content. The new operation is awesome, granted, but the flashpoints are revamps and the dailies are limited to a only a few on Makeb (by the time you reach 55 many of the Makeb dailies are already below level.) I am hoping to see an abundance of new 55 content soon. Unfortunately it sounds like they are going to focus on cosmetics and QOL in the near future. I won't mind seeing that added to the game as long as it is in addition to new elder game content. I can see level 55 getting dull really quickly unless Bioware stays on top of it.
  21. In response to the last post: I leveled my first character without the GTN easily enough. The only purple items I had were a couple of random drops. I didn't get ANY implants until level 25. I didn't start acquiring artifact gear until level 50. I don't see the problem. Also, non-modable gear took a nose dive once orange schematics came out ("The Orange Revolution,") long before the cash shop (however, I will agree that the cash shop did seem to aggravate it.) And if there are not affordable green/blue items for new players on the GTN, why don't they start putting them up themselves? That's how you make money. You look at where the market has a void and try to fill it. Man, I was excited to get some new blue mods with my planetary credits when I started playing. The items on the GTN were 90% crap back then on the server I was on. Should a new player really expect to have purple implants at level 21? One way or the other, this is all hypothetical for me. There are still plenty of green/blue items for sale on Begeren Colony. No, there aren't green level 21 implants for 500 credits. But that is only because the schematics for them are blue. Maybe we should consider the possibility that new players are expecting more than they should be as part of the problem here.
  22. If you are in the game for the long haul, and are willing to invest some credits and time reverse-engineering, you can still make plenty of money crafting. I spent the first few months following release gathering mats and r- engineering, building a large selection of artifact quality items that have made me a fortune. I have three characters that I have leveled to 50, but I also have several that I made solely to craft. I have a character for all crafting professions and I can't think of one profession that I can't make plenty of credits with. Armomech and Synth were a disappointment for a few months, true, but now I make a killing selling augments and kits. Reverse-engineering is a temporary money sink, yes. If you don't intend on playing the game for an extended period, or if you are a casual player, it's probably not going to do you any good. But if you play often, those purple items pay off if you keep an eye on what is hot and what is not. This may not be the case on all servers but it certainly is on mine. Yeah, I've definitely RE'd some junk. But I've also learned how to craft some items that I can't seem to craft fast enough to keep pace with sales.
  23. Can anyone point me to a quality and relatively recent pvp/operative/heals guide? I can't seem to find one that isn't outdated.
  24. Ouch... the open world pvp will only be available on pvp servers? That sucks. I was looking forward to that but I am not on a pvp server. Bummer.
