  1. When you reach level 10 as a Jedi Knight and take the shuttle to the fleet, you must pick an advanced class. If you choose the advanced class "Guardian" you will be able to equip heavy armor. However if you choose "Sentinal", then you are restricted to medium armor.
  2. So I'm a DPS Guardian, fully Vigilance spec-ed which I love, and I'm trying to decide how to mod my armor. I'm happy with the "Armoring" slot (I use "Might Armoring") but I'm unsure which way I should go for the "Mod" slot and the "Enhancement" slot. For the "Mod" slot, I'm torn between Potent (which is strength/Endurance/Crit) or Deft (which is Strength/Endurance/Power). For "Enhancement" I've been looking at "Initiative" (which is Endurance/Accuracy/Power) and "Acute" (which is Endurance/Accuracy/Critical). Although those are the two I'm looking at for both slots, I'm open to other suggestions. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.
  3. Kinda like a persons IQ. People think having a high IQ means your automatically smart when in fact, it's just an indicator of your potential.
  4. OMG! OMG! OMG! I want this armor! Kira! Get your sweet arse over here and go treasure hunting, your suger daddy needs some new armor.
  5. I'm level 43 and I'm full Vigilance spec-ed and I have been Vigilance since I first got my advanced class and could start putting points into my talent trees. And having said that, I love it. I do a huge amount of damage and I also get fire DoT's from Blade Storm, Overhead Slash and Plasma Brand. I'm particularly fond of getting my Focus bar filled, and hitting a silver elite with all 3 in a row and then using Force Stasis. Enemy health drops like a rock. I stay in Shien form and I never have to worry about being low on Focus, my damage is consistent and while I don't really have CC, being a DPS spec with heavy armor I find I don't need it. And when I'm in a flashpoint, if there is a need for an off-tank, I just drop into Soresu and I can hold the mob without any trouble. So to answer your question of is it highly underrated...it must be, because it's great fun and very effective. I've never asked other guardians what they're spec-ed, but I'm surprised people are even bothering with the Focus spec.
  6. I'm feeling this pain as well, though perhaps not as much as the rest of you because I want it for Kira. I've just started trying to farm for it, done 3 runs so far (4 if you count the original time I went) and have had no luck yet. Hopefully it will drop in a reasonable amount of time, but judging by the pages in this thread the chances are slim. Wish me luck!
  7. While I can barely understand a thing the OP typed due to...I don't know, does he have brain damage or something...I do agree that Drexel Sweep is extremely difficult. I received the option to take the mission when I hit level 40, and it says don't attempt without level 4 upgrades. Well my ship is fully outfitted with all the level 4 prototype crafted upgrades, and I'm equipped with the power conversion unit (lets you divert power to weapons or shields) as well as the jamming device (not targetable for 10 seconds or so) and I am still unable to complete this mission. I am very good at managing my conversion unit to maximize weapon damage and shield recharge (gotten quite good at switching to shield power briefly to keep shields topped off, etc.) and I don't run into any asteroids and yet I'm still getting my butt handed to me. I imagine it will be easier when I hit 50 and can use the level 5 artifact upgrade, but what I don't get is why it is available at level 40 when clearly it's meant for 50 (based on the incredible difficulty of it). Edit: I'm currently level 42 and decided to check out the ship parts vendor and found out I can use all the level 5 blue vendor parts. Spent the creds (wasn't cheap mind you) and loaded my ship up and retried Drexel Sweep. It was still difficult, but I did it, including the bonus mission of the 12 turrets on the heavy destroyer. I had about 3/5 of my ship health left and shields fully depleted by the time I finished. So to make a long story short...it's tough but it IS doable if your fully equipped.
  8. I saw this on College Humor and thought I'd share it with my fellow Star Wars fans because I thought it was pretty clever. http://www.collegehumor.com/article/6697271/what-part-of-ultimate-power-in-the-universe-was-unclear
  9. Never! Never this! I know they might get grayed out, but do them anyway, honestly it's so much fun regardless of XP gain that your missing out if you drop stuff.
  10. I don't know what anyone else thinks, but as for me, any credibility your argument might have had went out the window along with your spelling, grammar, and ability to type a complete sentence. I swear I started bolding the blatant /facepalm parts only to realize I might as well just bold the whole damn thing. One sure fire way to get your point across, don't make yourself sound like an uneducated, ranting idiot. (though I did enjoy the irony of you calling others ignorant
  11. This is fantastic to hear. People who use exploits to gain an unfair advantage over others do not deserve to prosper from their ill gotten gains and I am happy to see that Bioware has the same view.
  12. Couldn't have said it better myself. I agree with you 100%
  13. The sad thing is, I'm on an RP server (though frankly I think many people didn't even know they rolled on an RP server, hence the multitudes of rediculous names I see on a regular basis).
  14. I know right? It boggles the mind. And you know they know they can heal themselves, I mean they didn't get to where they are without using it.
  15. I've been playing on a Sage alt that's spec-ed for healing and I've noticed something, people are REALLY lazy when they have a healer in the group. It's almost like they forget they have a self-regeneration ability. I was in 1 group today (3 person group, 1 companion) and I kept them alive through some really tough fights, I'm almost all tapped out of Force, and they would rather wait for me to meditate to heal myself and regain Force, then heal them both up to full and then heal the companion up, and THEN meditate again to regain Force. And this has been a regular occurance for me (and come to think of it, when I'm tanking on my main I tend to have to remind people to "use your regen guys" or they will go into fights with literally half health.) People, healers are not an excuse to forgoe your own regen abilities. Inbetween fights, show your healer some respect for keeping you all alive, regen yourself while they regen. Besides, it saves time.
  16. If this makes you want to cancel your subscription, then clearly you don't like the game and are just looking for an excuse to quit. So if you feel like quitting, then do it and if you don't want to, dont. But for pete's sake stop whining about it on the forums. Nobody cares whether you play or not.
  17. The key your referring to is known as the "tilde" key. Not sure why it's not working for you, I bound my toggle run/walk to it and it works just fine. I know this isn't very helpful, but at least it seems to rule it out as a server-side game issue (since your the only one who seems to have the problem judging by the other posts)
  18. I like the color crystal system as it stands in regards to LS/DS Force wielders, however it makes no sense to apply it to ranged weapons (blasters, rifles, heavy repeaters). In every single Star Wars movie out there, good guys use red blasters too. Heck, in the space battles in the original trilogy, the good guys use red blaster cannons and the bad guys use green and in the prequels they flipped it around. So obviously blaster colors are not the same as lightsaber colors and this should be reflected. But as I said for the lightsaber colors, no light side jedi should be running around in a blood red saber, I think his or her master would have a stroke lol.
  19. A/S/L? What is this, 1990 AOL Messenger? So creepy
  20. Repairing doesn't make you dowload 11 gigs. Repair searches through the game files looking for missing/corrupted or files and repairs or replaces them. There is no way you have 11gigs worth of corrupted/damaged files that need to be replaced. What is taking so long is likely the scanning process. I would recommend you defragment your hard drive to aid in the scanning process (it rearranges files to put them in the same sectors to make file access quicker). If you haven't done this in a while, do it when your not going to be using your computer as it could taek a while if it hasn't been done in some time. Hope this helps.
  21. You are wrong. Players come first EVERY time. However, if you are in a group situation and loot drops that you want for your companion and nobody else needs it then it is appropriate to ASK if you may select need for your companion. The fact of the matter is, we ALL have companions and everyone has at least one companion that shares the same type of gear. Companions are intended for soloing and as a secondary role, filling in the role of a player if you cannot find an actual person. Throughout your soloing and questing you will be able to find plenty of gear for your companions, do not take it from your fellow players unless they do not need it and everyone is ok with it. Play friendly and respectfully. Don't ninja (intentionally or not)
  22. Couldn't have said it better myself. I have a 36, a 16, and two 12's so far and other than the graphical issues cropping up here and there (to be expected on a brand new mmo...happened with SWG, EQ2, and even that other popular mmo that we don't talk about) People on the forums seem to be the kind that just want to grip and moan about things and have people pay attention to them to validate themselves. That's why since the game came out, I've really stopped coming here aside from the occasional visit for info. I suggest you do the same and save yourself from the negativity.
  23. They are so different, you can't really compare them. However that being said, just before the Jedi Village was released (so Pre-Jedi Village, Pre-CU, and Pre-NGE), SWG was at it's peak and was an amazing game. I loved SWG at that point, and I'm really enjoying TOR so far. Though they could stand to increase the quality of their ingame customer service...and by increase the quality I mean actually have some semblance of quality.
  24. Ugnaught voices are so disgusting, they make me want to vomit. And it doesn't help that during the dialogue cutscenes with them, their retch-inducing faces get zoomed in on to the point of practically filling my entire 23" widescreen monitor. *Ugg, someone pass me a bucket, I'm gonna be sick*
  25. @ OP, I have had this happen as well and it is extremely frusterating and disrespectful and I agree there should be penalties for it. However even if they made it a punishable offense, good luck getting through to someone to report it. So far the CS is just atrocious.
