  1. I guess you have talked to all WoW players then? That's quite a feat. I know my wife is thrilled about this game. She is a long time WoW player, and WANTS it to be similar, but a new place to go. I think many others will be of the same mind.
  2. No, that's ridiculous. WoW was a success for as long as it was because of the artstyle (stylized lasts longer than polys), ease of mechanics (quests, menus, moving, etc.), the lore, music, content, etc. The only reason it's falling off is because people are just bored with it. Once you've leveled your 3rd healer, 2nd tank and fourth hunter, going through the same areas, doing the same dungeons, getting the same gear, it gets boring. Star Wars does many things right - stylized graphics again.. for longevity, smooth interface, solid lore, etc. WoW players actually imo, will like this MORE than most others. It will seem most familiar to them. But still be completely different. New ways to tank, heal, dps. New dungeons, new talent trees, new loot, etc. It will be just fine.
  3. Well, to be fair to those that did pre-order, one of the hooks was indeed, early access. Early access is certainly not on the 20th. I would hope all who pre-ordered will get in by at least Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise yes.. it's a problem that they advertised early access, and then you are not granted it. Otherwise I agree. Smooth launch, staggering was a great idea, although I had no idea they were doing this until after I pre-ordered. Not everyone lives in the forums prior to release. As long as I can get in by the weekend at some point, I'll be happy. I'll be less happy if my pre-order grants me no early access at all.
  4. I don't know what you mean OP, by Bioware not responding. There is nothing to say. The plan is layed out, it's being carried out as planned, there is really nothing to say. Do you really think they have the time and manpower, with the new launching to track and work on, to let hundreds of thousands of people know -exactly- when they will be getting into the game? Especially when they themselves are not certain? What do you want them to say?
  5. It was the first day. They already said they'd add more folks tomorrow. You have no idea why they allowed the # they did. As IT and someone that works with network infrastructure, you just have no idea the complications and possible issues that can crop up. After almost every MMO lags and crashes on launch, I think a staggered launch is fine. I was hoping to play today, even had the day off. But no dice.. but I'd rather have a solid, stable, balanced (population-wise) experience once I do get in.
  6. I miss when raiding was an actual challenge. No vent, no addons, no damage meters. You knew the fights, and you got them done. Can't raid without a damage meter? Are you kidding?
  7. I think the way they are launching this game is brilliant. Anyone who is complaining about names, are people who are clearly going to have incredibly stupid names, that some other immature dweeb will steal first. One less Pwnuface, the better. This is a great way to stagger server load, and be able to accurately control populations, and not end up with server imbalance. I hope you cancel your sub OP - and anyone like you. You are the people I really don't want to play the game with anyway. Good riddance.
  8. All I know is that if anyone is so po'd because of whiny impatience, that they are cancelling their preorder.. AWESOME! Those are the people I really don't want to play the game with anyway. Please quit, immediately!
  9. I just hope the whining here is not indicative of the whining we'll see in the game.
  10. Staggered is great. Would be better if the schedule was clearer, but still, I love the idea. I hate first day MMOs when people are standing in clumps to kill mobs. Spread it out. This is much better than just opening the doors and watching a mad rush of people crush each other trying to get in at the same time.
  11. Thankfully and hopefully, the impatient folks who when playing the game, won't be yelling "gogo!" at me, because they have the patience of a jack russell terrier on crack.
  12. On the bright side, their forums can handle quite a load.
  13. I admit I thought it meant at least 5 days early, similar to all MMOs I've played previous - early play due to pre-ordering was that. Not "maybe" based on when you pre-ordered. But regardless, not a huge deal. I will be a bit disappointed if I get 0 days however, due to pre-ordering. That sort of is breaking their promise at that point. But life goes on.. not a huge deal.
