  1. I know what you mean. This game is a ton of fun, but it might take some time for it to feel more lived-in. I do wonder if it will ever have that same type of real live peristent world feeling that some other MMOs have.
  2. I notice I get a lot more shimmering if I have 'Force Mipmap Filter' enabled in Tray Tools. It's under tweaks/standard.
  3. This thread has inspired me to create a new EQ character (when it goes F2P in march).
  4. I think that's your best bet, whenever you can get it done. You won't regret it, TOR will run much better natively in Windows. It may be giving you an error because you have to free up some hd space before you can partition the drive.
  5. I'm not sure why you can't partition the drive - wouldn't it take up the same amount of space as Parallels? As for Boot Camp, there is very little risk to your computer, although backing up your data is always a good idea. If you can't do that, unless there's a way to update the driver in Parallels, you may have to live with it. Other people have reported similar issues running TOR with certain Apple drivers.
  6. I suggest running Windows natively through Boot Camp for TOR, this looks like an incompatible video driver issue that a lot of people have run into. You'll get better performance as well.
  7. There has to be a way for me to enter my ship without it automatically flying off into space. This bugs me to no end.
  8. Is it just me, or are both of these points just examples of griefing?
  9. Maybe we'll see some changes as part of the 'significant' space update that's coming.
  10. That sucks. I'd try a different server.
  11. Things I've learned about the SWTOR economy from the forums: Everything is too expensive and impossible to afford. There is nothing to spend credits on. You cannot make a profit on the GTN. Crafting is useless and not profitable. Things I've learned about the SWTOR economy in game: All of the above are wrong.
  12. Yeah, that's a great feature (although by the time you yell for help it's usually too late).
  13. That's not what the OP's saying at all.
  14. The SWG system was great. I keep holding out hope that we'll eventually see something more like that.
  15. I agree with this, it happens all the time. I guess they're trying to help, but that doesn't change the fact that it can be annoying.
  16. I agree with point 4, mostly. As much as I enjoy Bioware games, this is practically the definition of a Bioware RPG, so I knew this going in. Although they talk a lot about choices (and to be fair, they give the user more interaction than a lot of games) it has always seemed to me they're sort of obsessed with forcing the user to play their characters their way rather than letting the player be their own character. To be clear: I don't think story was a mistake. Not at all. I'm having a lot of fun with the game and I do find it quite immersive. It's a refreshing change from every other MMO I've ever played. But I get that Bioware wants to tell us a story, not let us make our own. It may have a lot to do with why some people feel like there's nothing more to do once the main story ends. As fun as the story is, at the end of the day, it can feel like it's not really my character, just another character in a story I was participating in.
  17. Yes, but that was the only 90 minutes I had available to play video games this year.
  18. I think the reason the OP is upset is because they have already announced they're working on "another project with space that will expand the game significantly," as well as new single player missions for the existing system. No word from Ferrari yet though.
  19. One thing I've noticed... astromech droids were a lot bigger in the Old Republic.
  20. Sorry, still not buying it. I don't want a second MMO. I want more space in this MMO. Some people seem to think only the features they personally enjoy should be developed and all others should suffer, whether it's crafting, PVP or space combat. But I'm glad you're happy with the space combat the way it is. Maybe they'll leave the existing system intact for you and others who share your preferences when they release the expanded space content.
  21. Yep. That's where we disagree. Somehow I doubt you'd be ok if all of the ground action in the game was on rails, with the scenery automatically scrolling by, and no control over your avatar. After all, that's how it was represented in the movies. They followed the script and went exactly where the director told them to.
  22. Sure it's worth it. Once you know the schematic, you can make more and sell them at a profit. It shouldn't cost you anything.
  23. You've completely changed my mind. Not really, I'm being sarcastic. Despite what you might personally think, the space scenes, ships and battles are some of my favourite things about Star Wars, and I'd love to be able to experience that in a game like TOR. Luke wasn't on rails whether he was on the ground, on a speeder, or in his ship.
