  1. Look in the dev tracker. Stephen Reid goes into detail on this subject. I'll post a small portion here: First, Early Game Access and launch is not supposed to be a stress test. In our previous Beta Testing Weekends we got up to very large concurrent number of players and brought invites into the game at a very high rate. That was done to stress test every aspect of our systems and servers, and essentially to see if they broke. In some cases, they did, but that helped us improve for launch. For us, launch isn't just about stuffing our servers with as many people as possible. As anyone who's been through a large MMO launch can tell you, that experience can be painful. Our aim with this launch was to ramp things up gradually, to spread our player population out amongst a variety of servers, to maintain all server types, and to keep queuing to a minimum (although we expect that to happen as we head towards December 20th). So far, all that has been successful for us on Day One.
  2. FYI threads have to be on topic of the game. This will be closed soon.
  3. They already have said they will. Even if you get on a server on the first minute there are people who will get to 50 before anyone else because they have a lot of experience beta testing or play 24 hours a day. If you're worried about PvP ganking, PVE servers may be the way to go.
  4. Servers queues were almost entirely Heavy and Full all day through the invite process. Yes, in the middle of the night on a weekday, they are down to light and medium.... and it's only the first day. They already said, the number on invitations is ramping up dramtically, be patient.
  5. Not looking good. The forums look like Trade chat on it's worst days.
  6. I'll sell you my Malgus for $150 when it gets here in a few days. You can double you're money.
  7. Probably not until they ship the CE's and we can enter our codes.
  8. I support BioWare's decision to stagger. I would rather wait my turn than get dumped into an over populated server that crashes every few minutes. (Been there, done that with other games.) Bioware announced this format from the get go. No surprise. I would say they need to close some of the redundant threads though.
  9. No, once everyone gets in they'll find something else to complain about. It was like a few weeks ago, people canceling because they couldnt get in beta. Then open beta came and then every cried because the game didn't have the one feature they wanted.
  10. Here is the direct copy from the email they sent on July 21st when they announced the Pre-order program: The order in which you purchase and redeem your Pre-Order Code is the order in which you will gain early access to the game, prior to official launch day. That's all the has ever been communicated about pre-order since day 1. Move along.
  11. One of the fan sites today was showing a security page in game that had provisions for a smart phone based app. Pure speculation, but if it's in game I wouldn't think it's too far out.
  12. I don't find it a hassle and I enjoy the added peace of mind. Never had my account hacked before or after... but then again I never fell for the "your account is expiring" emails either.
  13. I"m angry about another thread about the same topic as 3 others on this page.
  14. When you are onboard you are in a "space" zone. You can chat with other people in that zone. Late in beta I was seeing like 12-20 people in that zone. I do not know if it was limited to my class, or that was everyone on a ship, or what.
  15. Another special snowflake whose content was too important to not put into one of the 20 existing threads. Btw, Gamestop did charge people's credit cards for preorders today. So, get another "witty" response about paying customers.
  16. You're "stuck" for now. They said space will get some attention down the road so it may change later.
  17. Pure nonsense. Hop on a new server when it opens if you want Legolas.
  18. I got my assasin to lvl 26 during beta. I used both Khem Val and the droid. They worked great for me. I just got the third guy when the test ended never got to try him out. However, I was sure to keep my equipment upgraded as much as I could.
  19. Everyone at Disney Land buys a ticket, but the people who get in line first, ride first. It's called waiting you're turn. If you need instant gratification, go occupy something and cry with them.
  20. They'll be opening servers all through this time period. Hop on one with your guild first day, problem solved. (If there really even is a problem.)
  21. I guess reading comprehension is no longer taught in schools these days. For the longest time, they never even named how long access was going to be. They only ever said the sooner you register the sooner you get in. That's it. Then not long ago they announced the process would start 5 days prior, which was finally bumped to 7 days. If you're mad at someone, call your schoolboard.
  22. I got charged today also. I asked them last Friday when they were going to ship. The answer then was the 19th. They either are charging now to figure out who is still in the hunt for shipping allocation reasons... Or some of the talks between BW and the vendors have upped the ante. My guess it's the former.
  23. You may want to consider a MMO. Interacting with people will help you learn this thing called sarcasm. It's a form of humor.
