  1. You've changed the packs and made anything anyone might actually want so rare that the gtn prices are so grossly inflated that it takes forever to earn enough credits to buy. You changed heroics so they could only be done once per week and now you have nerfed their payout by over half? I understand you want CM sales but with the rarity of anything good from packs only people with money to burn would actually gamble on using real money. Now you're nerfing the best way to make credits in game, which means players will be poorer resulting in fewer gtn sales resulting in less CM sales to people who sell stuff on the gtn. What is going on with this game?
  2. I have to admit that I too feel like this new event is a slap in the face to veteran players (or at least those of us who are left). I have 2 mercs, 1 PT, 2 maras, 1 Jugg, 1 Sorc, 1 Assassin, 2 Snipers, 1 Operative, 4 Sents, 2 Guardians, 1 Commando, 2 Vanguards, 4 Slingers, 1 Scoundrel, 2 Sages, and 2 Shadows. I've done the stories time and time again. I've never poured the kind of time, effort, and love into a game that I have this one (not to mention money being a sub since pre-launch). But this LvD event seems directed solely at newer players and veterans like myself sit wondering if we will ever see real endgame content added again. BW promised after the long delay to release Rav and ToS that never again would we wait that long, yet here we are in the longest drought of endgame content we've ever had. Spring has come and gone, the time of year when we are used to hearing about upcoming expansions and new ops coming in the fall, and no news of new ops on the horizon. While this chapter related single player content might be mildy entertaining at times, it is not real endgame content, it's not mmo content, and it's not even remotely challenging. I don't know why the decision was made to cater to a revolving door player base and all the effort put into one and done content instead of making new ops that will actually keep players around. I understand the chapter content is free and given what it is it should be. I would gladly pay an additional $10 or $15 every 6 months for 2 new ops in addition to my sub. I don't know how much longer I'll be here myself. I feel like I'm fighting to save a marriage and my spouse just doesn't give a sh@t anymore.
  3. I'm pulling my hair out with this, I've had multiple sub 10 minute combat time according to starparse and more sub 10:30 runs than I can count and no achievement. I'm using a combat sent that has hit over 7.1k on a 1m dummy parse and a 50 influence level companion. I'm using transcendence and blade blitz to get back to the terminal as quickly as possible. I just don't get it.
  4. Dear Bioware, I'm writing this in the desperate hope that there is still someone there who still gives a damn about this game because I still do. I've been here since pre-launch and my swtor.com account was created in 11/08 so I think my opinion should count for a little. I've stuck by this game, supported this game, and even brought a few people to this game (though i've never used any referral links or whatever). I've enjoyed this game longer than any game I've ever played and I've defended it against critics and trolls alike. Please, Please, Please consider what follows. I don't who is at the helm of this thing but I think I speak for a vast majority of players when I say that while we may love Bioware's stories in the past (Kotor, Mass Effect series, Jade Empire, etc) and we enjoyed the class story lines the first few times through, THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WANT! At least not exclusively! I've enjoyed the stories and creating my characters but I keep paying my $15 per month because I expect END GAME MMO CONTENT. You've always been too slow to release new raids and new flashpoints but in the past we all could at least hold onto the hope that they were coming. Now in the midst of the longest drought yet we are given buggy, lag filled single player content with not even a hint of new ops on the horizon. I really don't want to leave this game. I'm in a great guild with people I enjoy playing and socializing with but that's really all that's holding me here. This new single player content isn't fun and not even remotely challenging. This isn't worth 15 cents per month let alone $15. The voice acting and the cutscenes are cool at times but why put all that work into content with 0 replay value. All the time wasted on level designs and environment in areas that we will only really care to visit once or twice. A couple new ops per year is all we ask for our sub fee. I don't think that's unreasonable. Oh and maybe someone who works there could boot up a pc and test new content out a little before releasing. Every patch now I feel like it's Christmas and I'm getting a gift that I don't want that's broke right out of the package. So in summary, I speak for a large portion of the players out there when I say we would like some more OPS, and some more OPs, and a few MORE OPS. Oh and give the pvp'ers something new once in a while too.
  5. I have not received my email regarding the reward for being a subscriber who is opted in to receive email. I double checked my account and I've been opted in all along. I called customer support and the advised me to post on the forums under one of these threads?!?! First time I've ever been disappointed when calling customer support, they were no help at all.
  6. Well if history is any indication then I can say that 224 gear will NEVER be craftable. 224 rating gear is technically "Nightmare Ops" gear (though it's only a 5% chance to drop outside the last boss yet you can farm EV and KP HM for it, yeah that makes sense) and NiM gear has never been craftable at any level. In regards to the crafting of this gear I would hope that this continues to be the case, the best gear should only be attainable through ops, and should be only the hardest ops (again EV and KP HM giving 224 gear is mind boggling to me). On a separate note just wondering when you guys are going to nerf SS/MM slinger/sniper again. I'm not hitting enrage timers on standard mobs while doing dailies yet. (can you taste the sarcasm) If anyone reads that matters can i suggest trying something new when adjusting a class/discipline? Try getting out the scissors and taking a little off the top instead of using a chainsaw to cut your hair. You can always trim more and don't end up within broken disciplines. SS slinger = can't heal, can't cleanse, not mobile, crappy cooldowns, worse sustained dps in game. Well done.
  7. I'll admit Sab/Eng might have been a tad OP but in reality the weaker classes needed buffed. Now I've got a class with no mobility, no self healing, no raid buff, and mediocre at best dps. I lost over 700 dps in sabotuer thanks to this. This is the OS/Flyby nerf all over again, but this time the enitre discipline is hosed. Might as well gear out my gunnery commando so I can sleep while I dps. PVP f's over PVE yet again.
  8. Once again PVP has f'd over PVE. There was absolutely no need for nerfs for PVE content, in fact a few classes needed buffed. I don't know why they don't just make a PVP only discipline so they can balance things out for the whiners without screwing everyone.
  9. Level 65 Gunslinger using Saboteur discipline and 216/220/224 6 pc set accompanied by influence 50 Lana Beniko soloing Heroic Starfortress was a bit hairy on a couple of occasions (also used the alliance supplied turret twice). I wont say what I parse because I'm afraid they will nerf my discipline too, but suffice to say I'm easily in the top 90th percentile. I'm not going to throw around insults at the devs and cry like pvp'ers do constantly because despite the occasional missteps I do love the game and have always supported it. Were the companions OP before the nerf, yes, were they game breaking, no. A small nerf would probably have improved overall gameplay for the casual player but as has happened so many times before when the tool required was a scalpel the devs broke out a chainsaw. Imo a performance reduction of 20 to 25 percent would have been fine but now they are only 25% as effective as they were before and the fun of the new companions is gone. You should implement a MotD type system that takes a quick poll when you log in to get feedback on these matters instead of listening to the small but VERY VOCAL minority of crybabies who whine incessantly on the forums. I'll still be playing until you suck all the fun out of the game but as far as companions go you screwed up on this one.
  10. Seems like a whole lotta people can't get in the game atm. Everything was working before the latest "maintenance / we're gonna break some more stuff" time. You guys post that servers were up and then go out to breakfast? I learned to check my work back in elementary school.
  11. I for one have been dreading the coming of 4.0 on my Vir sniper and DF slinger. Utilizing the old 4 piece 186 set bonus will no longer be viable due to the major stat loss between the 186 and 216+ armorings. I parse over 5100 on my DF slinger using the old 4 new 2 set combo and have no energy management issues in either a 2 cull or 3 cull rotation. Howver when i put on my new 6 pc energy management is a nightmare during sustained periods of high dps and when dummy parsing. I had hoped the energy reduction to QD/Takedown would get applied somewhere in the new set bonus but it doesnt seem that will happnen. Perhaps they could apply the energy reduction to QD/TD when it only when it procs from Wounding Shots/Cull. I hope they do something cause our QoL is going to suck with energy management if they nerf crit again and don't give us a reduction in energy somewhere (QD, TD, DB, LS).
  12. Well i may have overstated my point when I said it "needs" it but Virulence could certainly benefit from the reduced energy cost on TD. Prior to the change to the discipline system the old lethality tree had a skill called Lethal Takedown that allowed they use of TD above 30%. It was the introduction of this that really made pure lethality specs the way to go and saw the old eng/leth hybrid die out. With the new rotations we are required to micromanage energy much more in addition to a longer rotation. I loved old lethality and despise being forced to use basic attack or spec into free overload shot as fillers to maintain energy. I'm suggesting that some form of energy reduction on either TD of Lethal Shot would be a QoS improvement as well as a mild DPS increase since using soft hitting energy friendly fillers wouldn't be required as often.
  13. I'm not referring to the initial hit but the ticks from dots. I don't believe OH is factored into this so shouldnt be the issue. 3% may represent the initial hit but the dot ticks from the dots represent a far larger portion of my damage.
  14. I do a lot of dummy parsing on my ship and I've noticed after analyzing more parses than i can recall that hemorrhaging blast never reaches or surpasses ranged crit chance. In fact the majority of the time it falls 2 to 3% short of my ranged crit chance. In my current gear my ranged crit chance is 26.66%. Over a large sample of parses I would expect to see the crit for this reach 26% at times, fall below at times, and exceed 26% at times. In fact over the course of several dozen parses HB never once met the 26% and at its very closest was a little more than 1.4% under. As stated above most of the time it fell between 2 to 3% below. Dirty Blast and Quickdraw also seem to come up short most of the time but do on occasion meet or surpass my ranged crit numbers (with DB i'm not sure if i should be looking at tech crit or ranged crit since it has both). RNG can suck at times but I believe this goes beyond simple RNG. If i remember correctly I usually see upwards of 400 hits of HB in a 1m parse and over the course of dozens of parses to never see an effective crit on that ability at least match ranged crit chance screams something is wrong.
  15. Well Marksman and Engineering would benefit from a reduced cost on takedown as well. I don't play Engineering because I think it's cumbersome and doesnt work well in a lot of fights. The current 6 pc set bonus works wonderfully with MM but the loss of the energy reduction on take down adversely affects virulence energy management and often means you cant use the ability when in procs.
  16. I would like to see the energy reduction to takedown that was on the old 4 pc set bonus added to the current 6 pc set bonus. I don't know if it would be wise to replace any of the current 3 bonuses but rather add it to the 6pc. This would allow for more liberal use of takedown as it procs and not leave you in trouble energy wise quite so easily.
  17. Here's another post looking for a Developer response / acknowledgement in regards to Laze Target not working properly in Virulence spec. After numerous test parses it seems that Laze Target only causes the first tick of Cull to crit instead of all ticks in the affected channel. I cannot believe this is working as intended as this would make both Laze Target and the new 6 piece set bonus much more advantageous to both MM and Eng than it is to Virulence. Ambush and Explosive Probe both hit like trucks when they crit in comparison to 1 tick of Cull. With the loss of the old 4 piece set bonus (energy cost reduction to Takedown) in combination with a malfunctioning Laze Target the Virulence spec seems to be left underperforming and encourages retaining of the old 4 pc set bonus. Virulence would seem to hit it's ceiling early in new progression with 4 armorings limited to either 180 or 186 as opposed to 192 / 198.
  18. As the title states I'm looking for a 8 or 16m HM Ravagers/ToS team. I specialize in ranged DPS with my main being a well geared sniper. I'm extremely proficient at both MM and Virulence specs and I'm working on becoming better at Eng. I'm also HM ready with well geared Arsenal Merc and Lightning Sorc. I have 2 tank alts that are reasonably geared (not HM) though I'm not interested in becoming a full time tank. I'd be leaving a guild behind with a lot of good people I like hanging out and playing the game with but I'm tired of waiting for a second progression team there that apparently isn't going to happen.
  19. 27 separate instance of The Ravagers were up in the middle of the day on my server. 27. This wasn't prime time mind you it was the middle of a week day. I can assure that far more than a handful of people participated. On my server I would venture to say over half of the active population participated. I know of a handful of people who did the exploit that are not only subs but spend hundreds of dollars on the CM. These are raiders that have dealt with lag, ability delay, broken/bugged fights (Underlurker) and they will quit and take their money elsewhere. You say they are showing the player base that exploiting is not okay. Well maybe the player base is showing them that releasing bugged broken content and charging money for it is not okay.
  20. Why? How does the fact that anyone did the exploit negatively affect your game experience? It's not like people hacked the game or used 3rd party software. The entered and clicked a broke *** operation. Why does it matter to you if they get punished? You're just a bitter venoumous person who enjoys it when bad things happen to others.
  21. You forgot Stage 3 That's where everyone who paid $20 of their hard earned money for a broke expansion and then did what everyone else in their guild did, and hundreds if not thousands of others did get punished for getting some free loot unsub and quit the game. Stage 3 culminates with a drastic reduction in Cartel Market sales and subscriptions as well as a negative word of mouth backlash reducing the number of new players entering the game. Ultimately Stage 3 ends with what for all intents and purposes is the death of SWTOR. It won't happen next week or next month but I know a lot of people with their hand on the unsub button about this. We'll see how those crying for bans and punishment feel when that happens. On a personal note every single person crying out for punishment for something that does not affect their ability to play the game in the slightest are far worse than any exploiter could ever be. This was my first MMO and experiencing this community first hand has insured that when the time comes it will be my last. You are truly terrible people who are celebrating the possibility that bad things will happen to others.
  22. The only truly guilty people are those who sold lockouts for profit on their servers and then transferred servers and sold lockouts there. As for everyone else who "entered and clicked", this wasn't exploiting, this was broken content and the only blame is on those who released it that way and knew of the problem in advance. At this point 90% of all players have benefited in one form or another from this. Whether it was the gear they got, or insanely cheap prices on mh barrels and hilts due to the overabundance of mats, nearly every player has benefited from this broken content. Those pompous self righteous morons screaming for punishment and bannings better consider how many players will leave this game if BW punishes them for taking advantage of broken *** content. If you wanna be outraged by something be outraged by being charged $20 for lag filled, activation delayed, buggy, glitchy, and overrall broken content.
  23. I'm not at all against it. I just think it's hypocritical to sit up on your high horse calling for punishment and then asking for the same reward for not doing it.
  24. Soooo you want to reward people who did not use an exploit to get gear they did not earn by giving them gear they did not earn....cough......hypocrit.
  25. Was your reply really necessary? Stick to trolling gen chat.
