  1. We already kill an enormous amount of mobs (here's looking at you 0/35 bonus quests). If you strive to complete those types of quests you will be getting ample experience while following planet and class storylines. I usually try to skip what I don't have to kill because of this.
  2. Thanks for the update! I know a lot of people complain incessantly on the forums about how Bioware fails to respond to its customers, but I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the pace at which new content and fixes are being introduced. Is it annoying to have a lot of big 8-hour patch windows? Sure. But you can't deny the fact that they are listening to the community and diligently working on both improving the game by fixing problems and expanding it with new content.
  3. Thanks for the response! I guess the best to way to find out would be to just do them and see what I can and can't defeat. Now if only 3pm would roll around so I can leave work.
  4. I play on a server that fluctuates between Light and Standard. Sometimes it is difficult to find people to do Flashpoints right now, particularly post 30. I'm sure this will change as more people join the game and more people level up. My question is regarding the lower level Flashpoints, however. Are they soloable or duoable by over-leveled characters? Is this only possible at 50 or can you accomplish this at lower levels? I have a RL friend who plays on the same server. I am 32 (Madness Sorc) and he is 20 or so (Marauder). I was wondering if we'd be able to duo some of the lower FPs like Athiss or Hammer Station. I've soloed Black Talon effortlessly but some of the bosses in the other lower FPs seem kinda tough. Thanks for any help and information!
  5. I plan on continuing my subscription until I no longer enjoy playing the game. Pretty simple.
  6. I think it's fine that they made the cost get a bit steep for frequent respecs. I think there should be an upper cost limit though.
  7. I'd like to see macro support as well. I'm not as concerned with UI mods. If they allow them I'll likely use them, but I am satisfied for the most part with the default UI.
  8. You are correct, and I am an idiot.
  9. The Imperial Fleet is basically the main hub for the entire Empire faction. You'll get to spend plenty of time there, don't worry.
  10. They didn't censor you. There are those of us who are actually trying to use this board for general issues involving the game. All you've done is create a long-winded post reiterating well-known issues as well as personal problems YOU have with the game. You made this post for yourself, not for the General Discussion board.
  11. I definitely don't work 85 hours a week but my playtime definitely has time constraints (currently sitting at level 28). I would say many are students (high school or college) and may be unemployed. I don't see why someone's employment status even matters though? There are people at max level, and many more who aren't.
  12. There is a vendor on the Imperial Fleet that sells items that require DS ranking. DS points also provide you with Sith Corruption (which changes your physical appearance to look more evil) and at least one title (maybe more but I'm only level 28). I received the title "the Destructive" after attaining Dark Side Rank III.
  13. There are plenty of people rooting for it to fail. I think a lot of WoW players feel threatened by it, even though that game has been hemorrhaging subs since near the end of Wrath. There are also ex-WoW players who desperately wanted this game to be their replacement MMO, but found it lacking in some aspect or another, so they've come to resent the game.
  14. There are various companion gift vendors scattered throughout the planets. You can also get companion gifts AND LS or DS points with the Diplomacy mission skill. EDIT: Your companions' codex entries should provide you with information what types of gifts they like and what types of moral decisions they prefer. I hope this helps.
  15. I'm assuming if the mission or quest is colored YELLOW, you are of an optimal level to do it. The standard wiggle room for such things is two levels both lower and higher. For example: say a Flashpoint is designed for level 25. Anyone 23-27 should be optimal for participating.
  16. Unsubbing because you can't get a purple lightsaber crystal? Sigh. I'M UNSUBBING BECAUSE I HATE THE WAY MY CHARACTER SITS DOWN ON THE GROUND. Am I doing it right?
  17. Just buy your companion some gifts and pick the many non LS/DS point choices in conversations of which he/she will approve.
  18. I find myself very engaged with the Inquisitor story progression. I love the cut scenes and the voiced conversations. Will I ever skip them in the future? Probably. Do I still appreciate them and find them a worthwhile game addition? Absolutely.
  19. I haven't had much trouble with squishiness involving Khem Val. Granted I am only 28 so my experience only goes to Tatooine. Occasionally I find he gets hit like a truck (kinda wish I had a combat log to check this out further). I'm Madness spec so my heals are standard and thus pretty weak. What I discovered worked best though was to be PROACTIVE rather than REACTIVE in keeping Khem Val on his feet. If it's a gold enemy or a tough pack with two strong mobs, I usually make sure I shield myself and Khem before having him engage. I then shoot for a big heal on him if he falls to 60%. Then by that time the Static Barrier debuff should be close to finished so I can shield again. I also use the medpacs that restore both my and my companion's HP. These have been lifesavers more than once.
  20. Not sure if trolling or an overzealous parent...
  21. Dude...you are looking at this the wrong way. Companions are reasonably powerful. Here's the thing though: THEY ARE FULLY IN YOUR CONTROL. Every kill they make, every material node they acquire, every mission skill they complete, is at YOUR, yes YOUR, behest. Even if you still can't accept that and don't want your companion to have more kills, you can order him/her to Passive mode so he/she won't have more kills. You are in control of your companion. The fact that he/she affects you this much is disturbing.
  22. Not sure if trolling or serious... I think companions are one of the features of this game that BioWare absolutely got right. It's fantastic that they took the "combat pet" idea and separated it from class and made the pet a.k.a. companion an NPC with a little life and personality. Plus, they let you get more than one companion for different upgradeable combat types (melee dps, ranged and heals, etc.) as well as different types of characters for story purposes. THEN, they let those companions you aren't using be useful by allowing them to participate in the crafting system.
  23. Seriously, the crafting system in this game is the complete opposite of tedious. Why? Because you end up with a bunch of companions who do the work for you. I think it's a HUGE upgrade of the MMO crafting system.
  24. I'm going with maybe right now. I haven't played around with it post-nerf (stuck at work), but I intend to see how it performs before I drop it. I also may consider keeping it until 50 if it even provides a slight profit margin and then focus on Diplomacy at 50.
  25. I've used Slicing quite a bit and made a LOT of just raw credits from it (Level 25 with speeder with about 110k credits still). My cargo hold is also jam-packed with mission discoveries and the occasional prototype augmentation. I believe that a nerf to Slicing was inevitable, though I wonder if the pendulum swung too far the other way. I'd say you can still make a nice profit from Slicing by selling augmentations and mission discoveries via the GTN (which is probably part of why they nerfed Slicing as well: more GTN use). It will just require more work than sending your companions on lockbox missions. At this point, however, I'm considering switching over to Diplomacy so I can better level my Biochem. I was planning on doing this eventually anyway, but I may just go ahead and do it now if Slicing is yielding negative returns on lockbox missions.
