  1. Just got off the phone with support, they confirm, no reward even if you missed a day, and the guy I talked to, he missed some time on his account, works for this company and isn't getting the reward either. Not a threat here, but if EA/Bioware can't reverse course and stop looking at being the money grubbing company we have all come to love and hate in one breath. I can unsubscribe. No harm/No foul for me. It's only pixels, but when you buy the game and play pre-launch, yeah, being rewarded for being a loyal player for 5 years, even if you missed a month or two of paying for it because, well, food in my kids bellies may mean more to me than a game does, well shucks on me. Yeah, feeling a bit betrayed by a game company and a few pixels.
  2. Come on, you can do better than that can't you? Some of us have dumped considerable amounts of credits into our strongholds only to be told we must shut one of them down to open up the new Yavin IV stronghold? You couldn't find it in your hearts to open up a 5th slot for it? Kind of crazy to complain, I know, I made the credits easy enough, but still, you open them up, decorate them tastelessly, err.. tastefully, and when you get a chance for a new one, you have to give one of them up. So, if/when you decide to give us a 5th slot, will we be able to reopen the old home, as it was (Less decorations of course) without cost to us? Just curious of course as there doesn't seem to be much discussion on this part of the 3.3 topic.
  3. [quote If this was a pattern I might agree with you, however maintenance almost always goes off without issue. Situations like this are a rarity for SWTOR. That's why I put the LOL in there.. they still do a pretty good job of getting the servers up and running. Today is rather a rare exception.. I have no problems with the fact that it does happen, and even more impressed that it doesn't happen to often with them. I just found the fact that my wife and I were just talking about this last night and then this happens, and Shadowlands is our server, haha.
  4. I wonder what's so special or unique about Shadowlands and how this patch has affected it that it didn't affect the other servers in the East Coast batch. Why the West Coast servers are staying down too.. I was just saying what an amazing leap this was between BW/EA and SOE over patches, now I'm starting to eat my words. SOE could never get a patch in and servers back up, or more to the point, rarely did they ever hit it on time. BW/EA seems to do pretty good at it, then, BAM! Today hits and makes me feel like I backed the wrong horse, lol.
  5. EA can trace any and all monetary transfers, from 1 credit to a billion, if they choose to do so. They can put factors in to the system to see if there is a lot of transfers from a character (A Farmer for instance) to another character (The Mule). They can also find out if there are multiple mules or a single one, they can find out if the transactions going out amount to amounts = to a credit spammer, i.e. multiples of 1m credits plus/minus their bonus %. If you know how the credit sellers work, you can find their mules, it's not that hard to do really, but it simply means that they have to have a desire to do the work or put someone on it to do the work. -- I agree, the spammers are annoying, but as someone pointed out earlier in this thread, they also let you know that the game is still viable, as they would not be here if it were not. While it's not at the same level it was at launch, the game still has a lot of paying subscribers and a lot of free to play players as well. You're going to have these spammers in any MMO that uses a currency to conduct in game transactions. Dark Age of Camelot did it too, and they found a lot of credit spammers and got their accounts WITH Mules burned. They banned a lot of good players because they made a single purchase in game and they allowed other accounts to come back after having made several purchases. They learned a lot from that, and Mythic is part of the EA umbrella, so they could have learned something from this and decided what direction to take or not take. Who knows. I have no need to use credit sellers, I can make 1-5 million credits a day depending on how much time I want to put into the game and what it is I want to do to make the money. So I have no need for them. The credits are easy to make here, and there really isn't a need to purchase, you really aren't going to get ahead at all by purchasing them. If you notice too, 1 million credits right now is going for 3 dollars USD on my server (Shadowlands), a few months ago it was nearly twice that price, so the price is dropping because fewer people need to purchase the credits. They are easy to get on your own, no sense in purchasing. Just ignore the spammers and report them. Perhaps EA can put a live Moderator in the game that can ban on notice when they start spamming. 24/7 on fleet, they do nothing but wait for a spammer to yell out and poof, they go away within seconds of doing such. That takes care of the spammers, but don't worry about the farmers, just find their hotspots and farm it for them
  6. It feels like what happened to SWG with NGE and all. Only now it's here in TOR. Not sure that I'm impressed with this system or not. I know I don't care for taking away my choices though and being forced into a near cookie cutter type character class.
  7. So what do the Euro players play on? An Atari? I agree, customer service is a nice thing, when one can get around to it, and yes, I have my complaints about the way EA/BioWare handles their end of it, but come on, this is a server crash. It's easy to just turn the thing back on and be done with it, but why not try to find out what caused it so they aren't rebooting the server every say, 5 minutes and really pissing in your post toasties. It's not as simple as turning it back on bud, if it was, we'd never be playing, we'd be on the forums all the time complaining about the constant crashes. Let the techs do their repairs and do them right and get us back up and running. Could be a hardware issue after all, and they need to find it first and replace it, after all, have you read coms in game? Lots of latency and lag issues, so this shouldn't have been a surprise with it happening on higher load days like a weekend.
  8. I actually did, FINALLY, get this done. Now I just need to jump the wife through it Thanks for those that were willing to assist.
  9. **We can make it to the part where we have to jump to the mobile platform. I've done it a few times and keep going through the graphics apparently, cause I just keep falling THROUGH that platform. I would say at about the 2/3 point of the run. Just gets aggrivating that we're doing something that is causing us to get graphic glitches and we cannot proceed further. Time consuming to go all the way back to the beginning and keep 'starting over'.
  10. Need to see if I can get a little assistance on this one. Seems that my wife and I (Yeah, yeah, got a wife that plays MMO's too ), are really having a difficult go of this. Would someone with some good experience at doing this datacron be willing to assist us in getting it so we can finish it up. We've been to tor-spy and youtube and all the other places, but we're just having some issues getting it done. Guess it's my old age or something Seriously though, if you have the experience at doing it, send an in game email to Zerkon (Republic) or Pomaii (wife, republic) and we'll try to hook up with you to get this done sometime in the very near future. I do appreciate it.
  11. Personally, this is going to work for me. I'll continue to pay, but if I run into a bind where the funds may be needed elsewhere, I can afford to make the switch temporarily and not lose my ability to play, just lose some of the access points to the game, and that's cool too, I can deal with that. This is a win/win situation. Keeps people in the game, keeps some people paying to get all the perks and allows those that can't pay or don't want to, with the ability to access the game. Hopefully this will all work out. Can we get a definitive and absolute difference between the Pay to Play and the Free to Play versions out there? What are we giving up when we play for free and what are we gaining that makes 15 dollars a month worth while?
