  1. <Globaled Warming> just hosted our first dueling championship this evening in a Tatooine Stronghold. We had great turnout and look forward to seeing many of you again. Congratulations to Advanced Class winners, who won 1m credits, a Tw'lek Dancer, and a War Hero Crystal! Assassin - Ketara Powertech - Jalgo Marauder - E-B Mercenary - Xaney Sorcerer - Psykick Operative - Xe'rik Juggernaut - Warmaniac Sniper - Ayylma'o Jalgo of <Death Smile> was crowned Grand Champion! He received 2400 Cartel Coins in addition to his AC champion prize. What's coming down the pipe, you ask? Now that we've had a successful event, we are looking to hold the next tournament on 8 October 2016. We're going to change up the format a bit! We'd like to try a purse system. Essentially, we charge an entry fee - say, 250k, for example. We'll have a publicly available registry of who has paid in, because we don't want anybody thinking we're just making money off this thing. Half of that 250k goes into the pot for Advanced Class champions - so each winner would get (total pot *0.66) / 8 - we had ~40 duelists this time around, so it would be ~833k per AC champ. Once we have a champion from each advanced class, we'll be pairing them up against another AC champ - and they do a best of three series. Same thing with the winners of those until we have a final matchup, which is another best of three. The grand champion walks away with 2400 cartel coins and 2/3 of the remaining pot (second place gets 1/3). That means that if we got similar turnout to what we had this time, Champion would walk away with an additional 2.2m credits and second place would get 1.1m. We haven't worked out all the details yet, but that's the idea. Constructive criticism or bright ideas welcome. Our main goal is to get the PVP community on Shadowlands together for a fun event and give everyone a chance to make some money...and of course, crown some champions and build my list of people to focus in PVP. Oh, and Pubs are totally welcome...we just didn't actively seek them out this time around because <GW> mostly plays Imp side.
  2. Specific utility suggestion - make Suit FoE into FoE Probe or something and let it work on any friendly.
  3. You're the guy who gets kicked from ops and guilds for being a qqer. If it is gear nobody obviously needs, it is and is routinely treated as fair game.
  4. If your DPS can't pull aggro off of you, they aren't very good.
  5. Nobody else was in 180 gear, or you are lying. Only two possibilities, so yeah...bubble intact.
  6. 4k DPS from most classes requires at least some Best in Slot 192 gear, which can only be acquired from ops. On top of that, this fight is very movement heavy and a total nightmare for melee. My VG tank is good for 1200-1500 single target DPS if I'm able to stand there and not move around. So yeah, the dps check on this boss is dramatically out of whack with the supposed 178 gear requirements.
  7. Okay BW Devs, I have a bone to pick. I see a bunch of balance changes for HM Rishi and Manaan, and even a couple in Blood Hunt, but nothing addressing the first encounter - which is disproportionately difficult, compared to any other HM encounter. It drops gear that is inferior to the gear realistically required for a group finder team to beat it. I don't understand how that boss made it past testing, but he's mechanically more difficult than any fight in Ravagers or ToS save maybe underlurker (which is mostly just hell on framerate because of all the high particle count AOE going on. If you want to balance something, stop messing with places that are absolutely fine (manaan and rishi) and fix this boss that I have yet to see a PUG defeat.
  8. I don't understand how you have a full auto sized hole in a tank vanguard's rotation. I mean, I can't even believe you use full auto at all. Don't get me wrong, I think the CD on HiB/Stockstrike are both just a tad too long...but I fill the space with ion pulse...you know, can use while moving, high threat, low cost...
  9. As soon as I saw that, I was like aww opportunity missed. I always wanted to be a submarine when I grew up
  10. Hey folks in my opinion, things that would make strongholds more awesome: -target dummies -Crew skill trade vendors -legacy bank ability to store credits -priority transport terminal!
  11. hell naw, love laser straight to my own face or I reroll
  12. My suggestion: While Supercharged Cell is active, the heal over time effect from Preventative Medicine (the proc from AMP) is accelerated, ticking rapidly over 4 seconds. This effect benefits from alacrity.
  13. Signed, it is difficult to explain how disappointed I was when I learned about Bolster in 2.0...I want to PVP in PVP gear!
  14. if a=true and b=true /cast mortar volley >.>
  15. Signed in support of my slinger homies, though I have the only one I need. What I need for my scoundrel is an M-300 Claymore for my OH weapon..
  16. I had a similar issue when returning to General Garza's office on Coruscant for a mission debrief (clearly had a mission marker in her office but couldn't enter it). I solved it by leaving the planet and flying back, could enter after I did...so if you haven't already, I'd try that.
  17. Other than the fact that not once do you yell "Big, stupid Jellyfish"...it's pretty good. EDIT: And it is super nice not to have to go out of your way to gear your companions, I did not fully appreciate this till I played a smuggler.
  18. WAS MAKING JOKE >< And what is wrong with a Brown Coat?
  19. I use Risha, but what I mean is...he's still just...there. >< And yeah being the CO of Havoc Squad is pretty sweet.
  20. Pretty much what above poster said. Can burn people very quickly if left alone to ramp up to 5 stacks of the grav round debuff with the procc'd full auto...it just rarely happens, because everyone knows that.
  21. This. I switched my WH mods into a rifle just so people don't see me carrying an underslung rocket pwnage launcher in PVP. I like to think it buys me a couple extra seconds of casting but it could be just a sugar pill >.>
  22. Not counting any chickens till I log in and find these changes, but if that **** is true...well. I can keep my Scoundrel as a scrapper now..
  23. I remember quite well how much it sucked low level on my commando...especially compared to my now 42 Sawbones - but it does get better, especially with field triage. The combination of having a 2ammo MP, which is a spammable combo on cooldown with Super Charged Cell...Bacta Infusion, plus the buff from Kolto Bomb + hammer shot ticking for 400 crits...it's quite effective. Stick with it. But do yourself a favour and get field respec. Gunnery is ridiculously good for soloing.
  24. Put it this way: Do you enjoy winning or losing 1v1s? Do you enjoy cheating, lying and stealing you way to being awesome and banging everything that is the opposite gender from you, or taking orders from a cranky old woman with an oddly phat booty? Would you rather have a nicely fleshed out class with varied abilities and PVP escape options, or have a big cannon that identifies you as an easy kill? And last but not least...can you stand Corso Riggs? These are the two classes I have played, and the above is my rough assessment of the current differences..
