  1. Like I said in another post, Nightmare has been released. The same day the servers merged because of the way they create instance servers and capacities. 3-5 sec lockups at critical points every main fight is enough to cause multiple wipes and halt farm progression. Joking aside, communication is all we are asking for. What is expected Nightmare release. End of summer, end of year, never? Just something so we can keep people interested in the game we all really enjoy because the legacy system is a huge failure in most people's eyes. Credit sink for no real benefit of having high legacy. Perks for legacy should at least have the costs reduced the higher legacy you are or something. 200k credits at the min level to purchase something, and substantial decreases each 5 legacy levels, etc. I digress...
  2. /agree It was a lot worse last night for us as well. A few minor issues with lag on Zorn and Toth, but nothing too serious. Get to FB and it was horrendous. Decided it was worth it to force instance switching, so we spent a good 20 mins or so to get a new instance, and then recleared trash (on purpose) to get back to FB for the kill. Our choice turned out to be correct. Still laggy, but a lot less than it was in Instance 1. Now here is where another problem lies, and is on another thread. Even with the lag, we still cleared NP, HM EC, in under 4 hours. We have effectively nothing to do the other 6 days since almost all of us have 4+ level 50 alts, and really no desire to continue to make more. Some of us might do story mode ec, or maybe NiM KP, but in the end, all of us have all the gear we need because of the freebie BH comms they gave out like candy. Content! Where is it please?
  3. Honestly at this point, I wouldn't mind the existing bosses upgraded in damage, 1 new mechanic each, and call it a day for Nightmare. They could have this done in a week or two tops and call it Nightmare. At least it would be something to help keep guilds going. We already know such a mechanic exists from the original PTS Zorn and Toth where there were knockbacks all the time throughout the encounter. All we are asking is for a timeline, an eta, something from the dev teams that new content, Nightmare mode is being worked on and when it could be expected. Since the layoffs, and the new people in the positions since vacated aka Community Manager, the communication has gotten even worse.
  4. You actually confused the issue because a Guardian = Jugg. They are mirror classes. I assume you meant Guardian/Jugg compared with Vanguard/Powertech correct?
  5. KN - Just look up Genshen on the MrRobot armory, it is updated with all my current values/spec, etc. Keep in mind that in combat I will have an additional 8% absorb that I pretty much keep up at all times. Very rarely does it drop and if it does, I get it back to 4 stacks asap.

  7. I was the 4th 50 on my old, old server, 1st tank to 50. We formed a group of the 1st 4 50's and did all the HM FP's at the time. None were terribly difficult in quest greens/blues. Skill > gear in most cases. The problem you might run into is that you are undergeared and your group might be geared and they will be frustrated because you cannot hold threat, won't chain pull, etc etc etc. Just go in with some friends, and it should be fine.
  8. Endgame is only dead for those that have downed 4/4 HM EC each week and continue to do so. Many yearn for more challenges in Nightmare mode, but we are left grasping at straws right now while the PvE raiders start dwindling in numbers as they move on to other games. A simple update from the Dev team would go a LONG way in keeping people around and interested in the game. Communication is key, because I know several guilds that are just chompin' at the bit to see some real progression content again.
  9. The DR curves for Shield/Absorb are pretty high. It doesn't start to really flatten out sharply until 60+.
  10. What was your group makeup? We did it this week with 3 tanks, 5 healers, 8 dps and didn't have an issue. I think your dps are severely slacking.
  11. I want to see different set bonuses each tier personally. Tionese, Columi, Rakata, Campaign all have the same set bonus is a little lazy on BW's part.
  12. I think you are misunderstanding the spec and what he is trying to do. Our damage now is insignificant. They nerfed it when they changed some of the talents around with crit %, etc. They boosted threat, and made AE much easier to control. Because of that, the minute damage increases are irrelevant, so he is going into cardio. I did the same thing on 1.3 release.
  13. Last week - 25khps buffed with stim, 15% defense with stim, 51% shield, 55% absorb. This week - 24k hps buffed with stim, 17% defense with stim, 58% shield, 61% absorb. Augments/relics helped a ton. Toth was a joke, Kephess was a joke, Firebrand was a joke. Unfortunately, I am not sure which log parser to use to compare damage logs between the weeks for shielding/absorb because nothing pulls it up correctly. Not sure if it is because the way the combat logs are written? I, and my healers, both noticed HUGE differences between this week and last. Using the spreadsheet values, and looking at the chart for the DR, I think I am almost optimized. I want to get 2% more shield, 1% more absorb, and I can drop 2% defense to do so. By doing that, the squishyness factor goes way down, the delta is low as well. Constant lower incoming damage > spikey high damage.
  14. You could try and work up something on your own for a rotation, or be diplomatic about things. I thought this would be a pain with the mergers as well, but surprisingly, it has gone really well on P5. There is a little contention, but guilds are cooperating fairly well.
  15. Why does it matter though? Let us say for argument's sake you are the 100th best skilled player in the world (if such a thing could even be measured). Why are you upset that some Joe Blow off the Nar Shadda block has roughly the same gear as you because he bought all blackhole gear and replaced his mods. You are still the 100th best skilled player in the world. The best gear isn't released yet. It is coming whenever they get around to developing it. Guess where it will be found? Nightmare Mode. They are claiming NiM will be all new gear, mods, etc and it will be in guild's best interests to down bosses. This is where the skill part kicks in. Stop whining.
  16. World bosses used to be 4 hours on my old server, but I think they upped it quite a bit in a patch a while ago.
  17. Less than 20 pvp matches and you will have both the static 103+ def/shield relics. They are BIS right now with WarHero above BM obviously.

  19. No one cares because it is BY DESIGN as you mentioned yourself. So why tout your own horn that you created this suggestion that no one cares about when the Devs themselves said this is by design and won't be changed. Makes no sense. It is cheaper to run EC on your alts, than it is to run on your main, buy gear, pay the 150-200k credits to remove mods, put them into legacy gear, mail to alt, etc etc etc. EC isn't obsolete. Sure people can buy gear with BH comms, etc. It is still faster to run EC every week to gear up than just doing BH comms only.
  20. Only after a Jet Charge which after the initial charge, if you are tanking something, you cannot jet charge to it as it stays with you if you try and run out. 8P Trash doesn't count. I personally think it was a stupid change they did and unnecessary.
  21. Did that happen every attempt, or did you try one attempt and give up? It isn't unplayable. We cleared it, several other guilds cleared it. If it was unplayable, then no one would have cleared it. Is it annoying? Yes. But people can learn to adapt and overcome.
  22. The problem with so much defense that I noted in real application the other night was the lack of heat venting. If mobs are missing you (high defense), you miss out on the 50% chance to vent 8 heat. I found myself a lot of times with high heat, which never happened before. Sure, I am tons easier to heal now, just the dps will go down quite a bit more than it did with the nerf as we manage heat.
  23. The spreadsheet base stats for the PT/Vanguard are out of date because it was using pre 1.2 values. The correct values are: 0.09, 0.07, 0.28, 0.32 With your values for what you have I see this: Squishiness: 0.2374 SigmaSquish: 0.1955 Spikey-ness: 1.3691 Which is better than mine currently. The DR curve for Shield starts to curve heavily at the 58% mark and above, which is why I kept it lower and went for more absorb. But it would appear that it is still a better stat point for point than absorb until about 65%-ish. With Heat Screen, I am almost capped on Absorb, so I could actually drop some absorb augments for shield to min max it a little more. I didn't even think about that, but dropping 108 absorb (6 augs) and putting them into shield nets me: Squishiness: 0.2377 SigmaSquish: 0.1978 Spikey-ness: 1.3852
  24. ^^ Tab target is your friend here. It cycles between the two, so hit tab once, it is automatically on the other boss, taunt, leap, re-position, kill, loot, go onto the next.
  25. 8 man or 16 man? The only issue we noticed was on Kephess, 3rd bomber/walker for us. We then got on our dps and told them to focus a little more and stop dragging their butts, and we got it down the next attempt with no issues. Last walker, 400hps was remaining forcing another bombadier, the time after that 2khps. That is what caused us to get on them. They did, no issues from then on out.
