  1. If they wanna learn they will seek out help and listen to advice. If not they won't and stay bad. What role the skilled players are playing won't change that.
  2. I was gearing out my tertiary healer (merc) with hand me down 220s that are almost vendor trash at this point and decided to join an EV HM pug, to brush up my skills on Merc, get some comms for 220 OH and hopefully some more set pieces as those usually go to others (first alts, off-specs) from the main guild raids. Saw a few runs being advertised and joined one that needed a 1T and 1H. First thing I notice is that the leader is about 62k but I thought it is probably good enough for HM EV. The rest was 70-75k myself included. I joined at about 6:30 hoping for max 1 hour run (as you would in HM EV). It took until about 6:50 to get the tank and about 4 of us zoned in. Que another 10 minutes waiting for everyone to get there at which point the tank says "there are no stealthers to skip" and promptly leaves the group. The other healer says that he will leave too if we do not start in 5 minutes in response to which the leader just says "lol" and kicks him. The leader is back to asking for 1H and 1T and I decide to go make dinner, I come back at around 7:20 and a few minutes later we finally get a full group, almost an hour later. Firstly I get aggro from both turrets (damn Kolto Shells) and promptly die. No matter, the spawn is right there so I just run back in. The actual fight with Annihilator starts. I am pretty focused on my healing as I do not have that much experience with Merc and keep trying out ways to optimise my rotation. After a while I note that the fight has been going on for a while and look at boss health which is about 50%. I raise my eyebrow but just continue healing. HOWEVER; The boss enrages...on 30%...EV HM...enrage...in 2016... The tank says something about that he will use a DCD next run or something (healing was not difficult, since you know, EV HM) and all I can do is say "No, thank you." and leave the group. I must say I saw them looking for 1H 20 minutes later and I hope they figured it out but come on...how do you enrage on EV HM, are you just using your base attack or something?
  3. - Gets a whole expansion focussed on single player content - Complains about there being multilayer content in a MMO notsureiftroll.jpeg
  4. I pity George Smith for having to write that knowing full well just how much disappointment and outcry it will cause. At this point I really do not see why KOTFE is even an MMO, it could have been an amazing standalone with graphics like Dragon Age or something. This will drive so many loyal players and subs away, it is not respectful to the people who have stuck with SWTOR through the good and bad for all these years. Also the wording "We know a lot of people love Operations" so we decided to flip them off. I will see how it pans out but I have no optimism. At least with no hype I can't really be disappointing right?
  5. Still cannot transfer from US to EU. BW you do realise that this game has been out for 3+ years and people move. We have this thing called planes. If not transfer at least character copy.
  6. He lives!!!! Good mate, I actually have not seen you in a while on the forums, feared you had left the game. Who would I leech my info from then. Also I am very grateful that the heal changes on PTS were reversed, those were seriously not great ideas. EDIT: Having read through the OP: - it is interesting to see that critical is now a consideration, for about the first time since 2.0; - even though critical is a consideration, the ratio of ala/surge remains the same. I suppose much larger amounts of crit would skew it towards a 6/4 split (with Static Barrier still advocating alacrity preference); - You say that Dark Heal is now somewhat useful. Would that also be without the proc? I currently have the view that without the proc it follows the same rules as it has from launch (only used when absolutely neccessary to prevent death). All in all, the Renewal mechanic is still taking some getting used to (I used to just put it on whomever as long as tanks had buffed armour) as is the loss of easy-mode Revifivation spam + movie watching. On the other hand, Force Bent Roaming Mend takes care of business. Also interesting how THE static raid healer is now a mobile burst healer with only reasonable AoE healing.
  7. I also don't understand the hard casts of LS, don't those do 25% less damage that way.
  8. He lives!!!!! It's great to see my gearing choices are justified, would hate to regear =D
  9. But 1m is such a nice round number. But ye, probably a good idea.
  10. There have not been any changes to the tree that would make crit more appealing. Still no surge bonus, bubble still cannot crit and Conveyance still buffs Healing Trance by the same amount. With the addition of the auto crit on 2pc it can be argued that we need crit even less. The only thing that could require more crit is the fact that it is no longer optimal to use Salvation with 2 stacks of Resplendance, meaning you may want the stacks to generate faster. On the other hand Salvation is now somewhat less powerful anyway (again arguably, its change may lead to less overhealing). I have not seen anything to convince me that crit should now be taken. Default itemisation on gear always sucked.
  11. I am going Power because it makes the acquisition a lot easier (just one recipe) and the difference between the 2 is largely insignificant.
  12. I tend to just ask them at the start of the match.
  13. Hey Oofalong do you suggest WP over Power augs even without the tree buff? I wonder if Orderken still plays and if he is gonna theorycraft Sage heals again. Suffice to say the current discussion is far from brilliant. Also I should probably remove that link from my sig =D
  14. I'm sticking to 0 crit and 7/3 ala/surge until I see something that convinces me otherwise. Interesting is just how much the gameplay for a Sage has changed. It's now a lot more fast paced as there is no longer focus on big heals (Deliverance and Salvation heal for less) but rather juggling a diverse rotation of fairly fast paced casts. The Instant free Benevolence is great as is on the move Healing Trance and I find that I almost never have to use Noble Sacrifice. The changes to Conveyance now actually lead to a meaningful choice as it is not as crucial to use it with Healing Trance and can instead be used for a GCD Deliverance cast (which can than be used for some pretty nice burst with an instant Benevolence, especially with the set bonus auto crit) as well as the burst that can be gained from a Roaming mend that will heal instantly. I'm pretty happy with the current state but it needs lot more playtime for definitive views.
  15. Can we please get rid of the must have talents for healers, so they can pick actual utilities? Sorc DPS have 0 required utilities to take. Chain Shock and Tempest Mastery are the only utilities enhancing DPS and Shock is almost never used by Sorc DPS, and Lightning Storm is also situational. Healers on the other hand have at least 5 utilities directly enhancing healing output.
  16. I just had to quote a post saying that Sages have better DCDs than Mandos. Too rich.
  17. Was once in a raid with 2 TK Sages and postiional speakers...very trippy.
  18. 2 Issues I have specifically with PvE Operations healing. 1. Roaming heal - may be a pain to track without buff/debuff management in the game and if its move is random it may become pretty lackluster as a heal outside of continous AoE Damage. And we already have an ability to deal with that. If it moves to a person with full HP over a person with 10% left, it is just kind of wasteful. It may end up just being refreshed on the tanks every 15s and the remainder of the heal is just throw away. And if the heal is too weak it just will not be worth it for 50 base Force. I also wonder if the 1 person lockout only applies to the caster and not the target (Force Armour/Kolto Shell) in which case 2 Sage healers will be even worse combo than now in terms of locking each other out of healing. HOWEVER: In the stream it looked like the Sorc had 2 buffs of Roaming Mend, one of which had charges on it, so maybe that is the way we can track it. It also seemed to have left a 40-45s 'Resistant' buff on the Sage which increase Elemental and Internal DR, all of which would be nice boosts. The ability sounds cool but I have some serious doubts about it. I guess it remains to be seen how it actually works. 2. Must have utilities. The idea of the Discipline redesign is to allow more choice with fast and easy switching of Utilities, on fight per fight basis. With that in mind the selection for PvE healers is almost entirely locked. Tier 1 Force Suffusion: Overload heals you and up to 7 affected allies for 191. - direct healing increase: while slightly nerfed to only affect 8 people now, it is still a free AoE heal. Empty Body: Increases all healing received by 10% - direct healing increase: no reason not to have this as a healer even if only applicable to self. Sith Defiance: Increases damage reduction by 3% - not really a must have but you need 3 pts in Tier 1 and the others only make sense when doing some off-DPS or in other activities (again I am talking about raid heling here). Technically taking less damage benefits healing. Tier 2 Dark Resilience: Reduces the health spent by Consumption by 25%, and increase the healing done by Unnatural Preservation by 30%. - direct healing increase even if only applicabel to self Lighting Barrier: Increase the amount absorbed by your Static Barrier by 20%. - direct healing increase, absolute must have Tier 3 Corrupted Barrier: Your Static Barrier, Force Barrier, and Enduring Bastion heal you by 2% of your total heal every second for as long as they last. The healing scales up to 8% with charges for Enduring Bastion. - direct healing increase, even if only applicable to self. That leaves one point left. Force mobility is very enticing, even if only applicable to some fights (no more cancelled Innervates due to AoEs on the ground). I can also see the DoT/Stunned and Detaunt DRs useful for certain fights, as can be Surging Speed or Force Haste, technically Corrupted Barrier can be foregone too, but it is decreasing your healing output potential. All in all the choices seem very limited, especially in comparison to DPS, which have virtually 0 mandatory utilities and pick and mix as needed.
  19. From what I have been testing on the PTS, I just replace the NS with a Force Armour and keep the rest of the 'rotation' the same. The instant Benevolence is interesting, it still costs a lot to cast so not really a part of the rotation but it gives another highly reactive ability to play with when Force imbalance is up. Will likely lead to a lot fewer oh **** moments. And the trade off from getting the PvP set is massive, right now just having a bubble on you is almost enough to keep your health steady and it will be even easier with a non-GCD Force Mend. Having a shorter cd on Trance massively outweighs the benefit of not sacrificing health, not to mention the WP lost. Basically you will be lowering your own output just to deal with something which is not even a real issue now (PvE wise). The PvP benefits on the other hand are significant. It's almost back to pre 1.2 Sage healing in PvP.
  20. Selling a unused Republic Guild with a 5 tab Guild Bank. PM if interested, price negotiable (The tabs cost 14.1m to buy).
  21. Hi Nycci. Time for screams. Derpyn = Derpy'dreselus
  22. Yes, I miscalculated. In other words it is missing out on 2-4 ticks (with Mortal Wound), which is nothing in comparison to the benefits of keeping BW and BB on their respective cooldowns and maximising SP use. In fact those rotations use Round Two every 12s but I don't think there is a good way of keeping on 10, at least not without delaying BW.
