  1. Bioware will make money if this is implemented in the cartel market. Most subscribers by this time have burned through their free cartel coins. That means that when they add a barber shop it would be a guaranteed cartel coin purchase. I hope Bioware does the math of at the least 50% of the player base purchasing the cartel coins to use the barber shop. I hope they make it a priority.
  2. I agree I would like server transfers. Bioware I will pay you to get a server transfer.
  3. Nearly all players would utilize this feature if offered on at least one of their characters. Many would use it on multiple characters. My suggestion would be to have more/cheaper access to this if the player was a subscriber.
  4. I joined Infernal Harvest about a month ago and I really enjoy this guild. They do multiple raids a week and sometimes multiple raids a day. The progression raid group is top notch. I have learned a lot from this guild and I am proud to be a member. Andrunahl lvl 50 merc
  5. Yes, what I suggested about having a cooldown instead of castbar for healing is a buff. I do not agree that my suggestion would be overpowered. Mercenaries have trouble with damage mitigation. Mercenaries are too easily killed at the moment. Right now we can use energy shield for mitigation and then try and heal ourselves. So they need a buff either with energy shield, healing or they need a new skill. There have been many posts suggesting new skills or modifications to damage dealing skills. I think that my suggestion would not be overpowered and works within the already existing mechanic of healing ourselves to offset damage. You may think that having insta-cast basic healing skills with a cooldown is overpowered. I do not agree. Heat would build up quickly and just like any other healer I would get stuck in a healing loop just healing myself until I became overheated or the damage caught up to me. I could still get stunned/snared/rooted so I could not run away. The entire time I would be healing myself I would not be damaging you (except for DoTs if a pyro). I would argue that if the healing was the only thing to change I would just be a slower kill 1 on 1. What my suggestion would do is make me survive for a longer time giving teammates a chance to bail me out or the healing on the run would let me LOS or otherwise escape. Mercenaries don't have any other escape mechanisms like operative do. I don't think your argument about this idea making mercs like operatives is accurate. Yes trying to kill a healer for a long period of time can be less than fun. Without any other escape abilities a deadlock would be unlikely. DPS mercenaries lasting only a few seconds in most encounters is definately a lot less fun.
  6. If there is a cooldown then the timing of the heals don't change. On top of that with a cooldown that means that the Mercenary could not pop power surge and do a double healing cast in their rotation. The total amount of healing done would change very little except for the healing being done is on the front end instead of waiting for a castbar to complete. I don't really see what you are complaining about.
  7. Change the 2nd tier ability Surgical Precision System to 1 point and make it make rapid scan and healing scan instant cast but with a cooldown for the normal casting time. This would not affect PVE in too much since that skill already affects casting time. It does not change heat management. It benefits PvP making healing on the move possible and eliminating interrupts to those abilities. Having be a 2nd tier ability would hopefully not terribly impact the spec of most mercs out there. Since Surgical Precision System is now 1 point Empowered scans could be changed to a 3 point skill with a 2/4/6 bonus progression. There are a lot of mercenaries out there that are frustrated with the current state of the class. I think this could be a workable change.
  8. Sail barge warzone please! I am in favor of more warzone maps but in particular I would like to see one with Sail Barges... and maybe a sarlacc...
  9. I would like to see character customization too. Put customization in the cartel market. Subscribers get it for free or they can use their monthly cartel coin allowance to purchase it. Implementation can either be a barber shop in game or new button on the login screen I don't really care too much about that part. Pretty much all of the F2P people will buy it in time giving Bioware more resources for further updates.
  10. Speed boost for mercs! I admit I am a merc and am biased. Any plans on opening up more weapon types to classes such as rifles for bounty hunters? At lower levels more and more players are using all custom gear and everyone does at 50. So wouldn't it be a mostly cosmetic change to allow rifles on bounty hunters?
  11. I've been playing with a hybrid pyro build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#300bc0zZMckZfhRbduhMc.2 for the last couple of weeks and have been having fun with it. I know that I am missing thermal detonator. It is mainly for being able to be a little more mobile. I have been posting good damage 250-300k but more importantly I have been staying alive for longer and have less total deaths per warzone. This is important for your team. I think I have surprised a few players when they try and 1v1 me and I don't die in 6 seconds but hang on throwing out heals and dots until either backup arrives or I kill them. Don't get me wrong I still get killed a lot but I think that it is down by more than 1/3. Many mercs spend half their time respawning and running back out. I will probably keep this build until Bioware does whatever change they are doing for our class. If you are playing on Jung Ma you may see me running around in my red PvP armor.   12. Add a set of quests that allow for changing which crew skills each companion gets a bonus in. Allow people to customize which crew skills their companions are good at. Can be expanded later to add quests that give a small bonus (+1or +2 to specific skill efficiency)
  13. The class stories are one of the best parts of this game. I like the idea of being able to revisit the story. Doing all the class quests over again would not affect balance other than having more 50's running around in low level areas.
  14. I would also really like to see some more orange belt and wrists. In particular the entire battlemaster line for all classes. I really like most of the models for those and would like versions that are moddable.
  15. There are already some great threads out there for suggestions. The requests for all the NPC armor that is seen from both the rep and imp space stations are great ideas. I think that there should be a section in the cartel market for chest pieces then also one for helmets/hats. I'd really like a nice hat for my BH...
  16. How would you see a jet disengage ability working? I am in favor of it working as a 2 button press ability. The first time you press the button it marks the location that you are standing (only you can see it). the second time you press the ability you will jet up into the air and land at the marked location if you are within 30 meters of the marked spot. If you are further than 30 meters then you simply mark a new spot to jump to. This could create a great mechanic for mercenaries defending objectives in warzones. They would be able to mark spots near objectives and goal lines then engage further away jumping back to be healed and re-engage closer to the objective. Players could also mark spots in high places (huttball) and if they are knocked off or a ball carrier is getting close to the goal the could jump to the high areas again. A much more exciting method would be a selectable jet disengage. Activating the ability would give you a reticle for your destination. Click anywhere in LOS within 30 meters and off you jump. This would be a lot of fun but it would also cause serious balance issues with warzones and with PVE platforming. Regardless of the jet disengage method what would be a reasonable cooldown? 30 seconds? 1 minute? Should the ability be a specced talent restricting it to one talent tree? Should it be a tier 2 talent so any build could spec it?
  17. So far a couple people have been in favor of improving unload by making it uninterruptable or rooting the target. I think that a mechanic that would work for both merc and commando would be unload/full auto rooting the target instead of slowing it. A few people have also been in favor of a disengage or some kind of speed up with jet punch. What about just a plain speed boost ability for both classes. It could be negated by rooting and slowing abilities just like the sith assassin speed boost. It could be adrenelin boost for commando and jet assist for merc. How about a new purely defensive ability? It could be as simple as resetting the shield we already have or an entirely new damage reducing/dodge ability. Is anyone in favor of a knockdown ability for mercs? Should it be target specific or an AOE? Should it be ranged or melee? I think that mercs need to be more suvivable so it should be a defensive move. Mercs are also very good with AOE abilities so I am in favor of an AOE knockdown. It could be called grenade spread, a few grenades are tossed at the mercs feet and the merc ducks knocking down up to 3 opponents in a 4m radius. Correct me if I am wrong but knockdowns are an interrupt combined with a 1-2 second stun. Since mercs have no gap closer abilities this would limit the offensive potential of the ability. The grenade aspect would also work for a commando.
  18. I'd like to hear ideas on utility abilities. Mercs already have plenty of damage skills. We could debate all day on buffing/nerfing specific damage causing abilities. I think that new or improved abilities for utility are more important. BH is a class just asking for gadgets and dirty tricks. Damage numbers aside what would be some good abilities to make mercs more useful and more importantly more survivable. I've seen threads for improved jetpacks. Ones for getting knockback to rocket punch back. Do mercs need improvements to slowing abilities or perhaps a good rooting ability? What are people most interested in seeing? I think mercs would greatly benefit from a speed boost of some kind. And a knockdown ability perhaps a headbutt (helmet strike) or expanded shoulder slam that is usable against anything. Mercs need to be harder to kill. There would be a corresponding decrease to dps output of course while trying to avoid damage and get away from melee range. I don't want to debate dps stuff at the moment so please leave that for another thread. Also should these utility abilities use heat?

    Merc is TERRIBLE

    I play a pyro merc and I have to say that pvp is frustrating. I'd have a much more enjoyable time if the class was either A. tougher to kill or B. had utility to avoid/get away from damage. I am more in favor of option B simply because the merc class is supposed to be lots of damage at the sacrifice of defense. Having more gadgets to use like a jetpack speed boost or jump back would be great. Having a group of mid range (10m) abilities to stun, knockdown and root an enemy would be great as well. Rocket punch with knockback, Shoulder slam with a knockdown and not requiring target to be incapacitated, and a carbonite leg spray that causes a 4 second root limited to 1 second upon damage. Right now most other classes have a very easy time hunting and killing a mercenary. Mercenaries are supposed to be the hunters. I've seldom had the experience of another player going into backpedal/avoid mode once I engage them; it has always been them rushing in to kill me. I am against buffing our damage because that would only invite a rollback later on. Make us tougher and more slippery. If we are able to stay alive we will prove we can match the top damagers.
  21. [Pyro Spec] 1. Other classes percieve me, I am a quick kill for them in PvP. About six seconds is all that is needed to burn me down. Don't leave me alone or I will kill you quickly and lock down your healers. 2. I do a LOT of damage. I feel good about that. I have a lot of damage dealing abilities. When I look at my quickbar it is full of damage skills. There isn't much else. PVE I have some stuns which are awesome. I wish I had some of those cool powertech abilities to mix things up PvP and PVE. I would trade some damage for those abilities.
  22. More mobility or utility. I am in favor of a speed boost. Similar to force speed. It could be a stand alone ability or it could be added to the jet boost knockback ability.
