  1. Sandbox's, Those are the best. They allow players to play their own way, and do their own thing, instead of being lead around to do what the developers designed the player to do. If I remember, SW:TOR developers said that you can "Create your own legacy", that is true, but it is limited due to SW:TOR not being a sandbox MMO, because you are sharing the same legacy as all others. Take a trooper for example, you can build your troopers legacy up, go to different planets, make NPC enemies/allies, but it does not allow you to literately make your own, personalized, storyline because another trooper will be going through the same quest. With a Sandbox MMO, (I'm going to use SWG as an example) there is a Legacy Quest line, and you can follow that through, but, you don't have to jump on the Legacy Quest right away, you can go to say, Corellia, first and explore there, and then go do the Legacy Quest line. Also with a Sandbox MMO (SWG as an example again) you can create your own legacy by exploring places, and then finding open places, barely inhabited by any players, and (In the case of SWG) set down a house and use it as your base of operations, decorating it the way you want, or using it to store all your junk . You can also do a sandbox game the way you want, because it does not corral you to one specific place or another, you have wide open space to explore and move around freely in. This is what makes Sandbox MMOs great, because it literately allows the player to make their own legacy, their own storyline, and their own history. Once again, bouncing to SWG... SWG had a player-run economy, furthermore promoting the open-ness of a game, and allowing people to a chance to breath, and do things their own way. Thanks for those of you who read this whole thing! P.S. Who else here (besides me) thinks that George Lucas (or LA, or whoever controls the rules of Star Wars MMOs) will consider re-opening SWG?
  2. Probably just silly rubbish from a 4-year vet of SWG... But when do you think LucasArts will start thinking about reopening SWG, and running SW:TOR and SWG side-by-side... (This will coincide with the end of the world, and when George Lucas regains a few IQ points )
  3. You are an SWG player? Arent you. Yes, those races are iconic, Admiral Ackbar, Bossk, Greedo, Chewbacca, now THOSE are Icons, and it would be nice to play characters similar to them, a BH Trandoshan would be nice =3
  4. But it was BW who chose to add only humanoids to this game.
  5. I would love to see the Empire launch an assault on Coruscant or something, would be quite a fun thing and would give us RP'ers multiple ways to go about an RP.
  6. I wish they could just bring SWG back online, George Lucas would be making a lot more money if he just brought it back up, because half the SWG players left SWG when it shut down, and didn't go to SW:TOR (Backfiring on George Lucases plan to shovel SWG players to SW:TOR). Thus, I do believe SWG and SW:TOR should run along side eachother, allowing those who are SWG fanatics to REALLY live there legacy (including me) and then allowing SW:TOR to be for those new Star Wars players. This would also increase the $$$ for Lucas Arts. I am just dreaming, right? Or, to FIX SW:TOR, you could add player housing, like a small sub-realm on-top of a Coruscant sky rise thats like a SWG planet where you could place your house, and similar places like it across all planets. Then they could try to improve the crafting system AND RP clothing, instead of wearing armor all the time, sometimes people might want to wear a silly multi-colored costume into battle. finally, add in a player-run economy, based off of a Crafter Class and a Entertainer Class, bringing together a wide range of people to one specific spot, and getting more people to STAY on the game. and then the Crafter Class instead of getting good gear from Vendors, this would promote a plater-run economy and bring people together, instead of relying on vendors, which you cant socialize with And that is all my raving antics for now.
  7. n-o-t-h-i-n-g was wrong with SWG, it was its own breed of a game. SWG was a perfect version of a star-wars game, it really DID allow you to play your own character, and live your own legacy, unlike SW:TOR, promoting that you really COULD live your own legacy, but here, you cant.
  8. Indeed, I would LOVE to see a revival of the crafting system, and also the multi-passenger vehicles
  9. Yeah... Ive been thinking LA would be making better money if they left SWG open, because most people, including me, would be subbed to both games.
  10. I do also believe that I'm not the only person disgusted by the lack of character customization...
  11. Darth Sarcasm says: REOPEN SWG! Now, I think that actually adding in SOCIAL classes like Entertainers in SWG would be nice, it would also boost how people get to know each other, by dragging everyone to one specific spot. what makes me stick to a MMO is the friends I meet on them. I also liked SWG's idea of the crafting system, because you could not get any good-end gear from vendors (excluding afew) and you had to rely solely on traders to get items, further promoting player-run economy and also dragging people together.
  12. How about someone besides me tries that Wampa Ice Den near the Republic Base... Where I was just roflstomped...
  13. Hmmm... I'll begin looking for any Ice Wranglers... Because I need a break from the constant grind to 50
  14. >.<!!! HORRIBLE use of comma's... Tbqh... But... I have not run into anything like this yet... when I do, I will support you
  15. The day when they allow Bantha mounts is the day SW:TOR will be overrun by Tusken Raiders (If you know what I mean ;P)
  16. I take it your a WoW Fanatic... If so... Quit raining your doom forecast/rise of WoW predictions on us, would you >
  17. If I may make a suggestion: Entertainers, or some class like it, from SWG. They brought the community together, and made the Cantina a socializing hub. It would give us players an opportunity to talk to other people, form groups, and then also give us something to do in our spare time.
  18. I do believe someone said something on another thread along the line of "Wait until summer, people will have a bit more time and kids will start pouring in again" (Not exactly what he said) I, for one, agree. there is a lot more activity during Summer.
  19. As most of you probably know, BW is taking out the Koreallis speeders... and I was wondering if they would possibly add in new speeders? As in, adding in a speeder similar to the Taxi speeders?
  20. I must say: Hutta. Hutta tends to be, for me, a bit tedious, because first one quest tells you to run all the way to one side of the map, and then you have to run all the way back to the other side to complete it.
  21. Indeed, Although SWG had a more constant server population on Bria server and TC, all year around. To the F2P thing, No, LA is pulling the strings, and even when SWG was going down, LA didnt make SWG Free to Play. As long as theres subs and money, George Lucas wont shut down a game, unless he can make something better to pull in more money .
  22. SWG survived for 8-ish years, even though it lost most of its fan base with NGE and all that. I think SW:TOR will do the same, and maybe last even longer than SWG (If George doesnt decide to cancel SW:TOR too and come out with yet ANOTHER MMO).
  23. This is what happened to me: So, I was playing an Alderaan Warzone, and I saw this one guy with a miniature Mouse Droids (Lil' Sandcrawler) and I started talking with him about it, after the Warzone, I said "I would buy the mouse droid, but I'm saving up for speeder training" and he gave me 25k to buy the Mouse Droid, and I did, unfortunately, I wasn't Light III. I just reached Light III and I have that little mousey following me around =D!
  24. Not to cast a doomsday forecast so early... but I do believe this game will end up in the same fashion of Star Wars Galaxies... An empty shell.
