  1. I would at least like a homing station close to the hangars in spaceports. Having to run through the spaceports all the time gets old. But I prefer it to the planetary space stations. Seems like a needless time sink to change floors to come and go and run through a space station.
  2. No add-ons creates a level playing field, oh my!!
  3. 8.5/10 Will get more when additional guild features, movable windows, legacy components are added into the game.
  4. Yup, even mixing in the occasional Heroics this is a problem with straight questing. I've augmented with space missions and PvP. Hasn't really manifested badly except in the higher level planets. Note I didn't mention flashpoints, you do those, you shouldn't have quite as hard a time.
  5. Would be cool. Don't see it given the cost of voice acting and the investment BioWare/EA would have to make. Even if sold as a full expansion, doubt it will happen. But hey they could always surprise us some year, never know.
  6. Never seen the devs post on this matter. Doesn't mean they won't, but I'm betting post launch it's lower on the priority list. More content and guild improvements and legacy will probably rate higher as these are things they've mentioned.
  7. Try bumping the RAM up to 8gb. Not as costly an upgrade as cpu could be.
  8. Here's the specs of the PC I built this past summer that handles SWTOR with no issues: Intel Core i5 Sandybridge 2400 8gb 1333mhz DDR3 mem Sapphire 100312-3SR Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 256bit PCIE graphics Crucial CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 RealSSD C300 2.5" 128GB SATA 6.0Gb/s - boot drive SEAGATE ST32000641AS Barracuda XT 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" internal hard drive - data drive - SWTOR is stored here due to size of client Asus motherboard, socket 1155 (don't have access to model while posting this) 1920x1080 resolution Been VERY happy with the performance I've been getting in PVE and PVP.
  9. Yep my little corp will need the help. Hopefully CCP will keep things coming in the light of the crucible expansion...and not keep expansions so long of time between. Or I might be taking a longer break until the next one actually hits.
  10. Been playing 5.5 years, flown everything from an atron to a jump freighter and everything in between. Thanatos, proteus. Lack of story is keeping me away at the moment while I enjoy the BioWare touch in SWTOR.
  11. Comparing EVE Online and SWTOR is comparing apples and oranges. They're both sci-fi about all they have in common. Sandbox vs Themepark makes a huge difference. Well both have one thing in common, their space flight models suck. Button pushing flight and rails. Yuck.
  12. If you prefer a wall of quest text to ignore, go ahead back to the old stuff like WoW, or even STO. I think if you choose to listen to the VO it's there for you. You obviously don't enjoy the entertainment aspect of gaming. I find the VO and animated cut scenes as refreshingly different and it helps change the pace some. SWTOR is definitely not revolutionary and that seems to be what you are seeking. BioWare brings an evolutionary approach, and why the heck not? You spoke of investments etc, look at the revenues of WoW. Even aiming for a small fraction of that is a success. WoW didn't innovate at all either. Most WoWzers think it was the start of it all in the MMO universe. It was truly for those who like WoW (not me) the pinnacle of themeparks in it's day. And as the first true themepark it immeasurably damaged any chances for sandbox MMO's. Just as WoW borrowed from SWG, Ultima, Everquest and others, SWTOR does build on what came before. Deny it, minimize that, any smart development outfit trying to raise the huge revenues for a new product will do the same. If you don't like the pace of fixes, or story, or content, or VO, or game mechanics go somewhere else. As a long time MMO vet, I'll admit the product is far from perfect. But it's far far better than most launched products and will improve over time. It's not an instant thing no matter how much you harp on it. i guess those of us who don't have an overwhelming sense of entitlement and possibly a wisened gray hair or two have more patience that the gimme now folks do. Don't like it, don't support it. Try not to ruin it for others who don't share your viewpoints as I know I won't change your mind.
  13. As stated before, can't please some people. Haters gotta hate.
  14. Just can't please some people I guess. Having played most MMO's that have come out (ignored Rift due to Elf Fatigue) this launch is been one of the smoothest. Well you don't have to sub if the pace of fixes aren't to your liking. It will take BioWare a little time (more than a couple weeks) to gel with live production. Come back in 6 months, maybe you'll like what you see better. I don't think BioWare is incompetent in the least, you're way way way too harsh my friend.
  15. Because they're impatient and want everything NOW. All the WoWzers can't accept change, but forget how bad it sucked early on and didn't get to where it was totally overnight. Summation, give BioWare a chance to get this thing out the door awhile before piling on the hate.
  16. Devs have stated that's on their wall o ideas. Not necessarily around the corner, but maybe possible.
  17. Second this and a web portal to do the same. It should also have access to in game email.
  18. Abosolutely no problems on Taris for me either. In beta went through it fine with my JC, and in pre-launch with my JK. Nobody in my guild is complaining of problems either.
  19. You think that is bad, I woke up early this morning (cold) and thought I'd get 20 minutes in game before getting ready for work. This was 5:44am this morning. My server was full and 10 minutes was wasted in queue. Not a good sign for how it will go today.
  20. Not a bad idea. It would definitely help commerce and grouping.
  21. Try grouping. I beat it at level 26 with a level 24 friend, fairly easily too.
  22. Same, got my "shipping" serial number today.
