  1. Full Auto will proc HiB from the moment you use it, so you don't have to channel for 3 secs if you are under pressure.
  2. I'd argue that by saying commando/merc is a healing class. However, I am in agreement that in a straight 1v1 you have not much chance as commando/merc all things being equal on gear/skill. Warzones are a team game though, so with good support commando/mercs can wreck havoc, and one of the best skills you can learn is to try to go unnoticed, pick a good spot to dps from

  4. Seeing as we are talking about commando utility a bit here, and someone mentioned that we can heal if required. One other point I want to make in comaparison to our Vanguard/PT brothers is this; A vanguard/PT runs in and sees his healer being raged upon by one dpser, he can use his taunt to reduce dmg inc by 30% (this is a flat rate not dependant on gear) on that target for 6 seconds and can then jump straight in and start dpsing the dpser, he could then use his aoe taunt to reduce dmg again, all instant abilities that use the GCD. He could even guard the healer, all very quick and easy stuff to use and we've not even got to the fact he could still pull the dpser off and stun him if need be (granted we could do that also on a commando with a punt). Now a commando runs into the same situation, they can heal the guy being attacked but do no dmg while doing this (or very limited), there healing is totally dependant on the gear they have. Granted we could just mezz the guy with concussion round, but you're not getting anywhere. Obviously this is all situational, and pvp in wzs is never the same but I still think that even though we can heal if need be, it does not compare to what our other ACs can do.

Although I do agree with you that we could heal when it's called for (and personally i will heal someone if I think I can save them), but our heals are slow and tbh the dmg input (even from one dpser let alone 2 or more) is normally quite larger than the heal output from a dps commando. The thing is as it stands now, melee who have taken the tank AC line even if dps specced have most of there tank abilities available and have no trouble using them. Try healing as a dps specced commando when you have someone on you, it's nigh on impossible and a complete waste of time. Edit: If you can get breathing room on a someone that is on you (eg; cryo grenade stun and then los them) you can get a heal off, but then it's a quandry of wether your time would have been better spent dpsing them or get one or 2 heals off. We have the utility of healing, but tbh I'd rather have the utility of PT/Vanguard. Edit 2: Also if you do start healing someone, generally it's a lot easier for it to be noticed, and you have just made yourself the focus of the all the dps, and as a commando that ain't good news
  6. I just can't see what our role would be in a pre-made when the rated warzones go live. What does a dps commando/merc bring to the party that another class (of an equally geared and skilled player) can't do better? As it stands now in post 1.2 I rarely bump into another commando that isn't a healer. Yes, we can still do alot of damage but nothing comapred to some other classes and we have no utility which other classes can not fulfill. Don't get me wrong I love my commando and don't want a damage increase, I just want something that is unique to the commando that would make us a good choice for rated wzs. Discuss

I am in agreement that we need one extra defensive ability, something tied in with reflective shield, maybe a 4 sec immunity from all cc (snares, movement impairing etc, I know in assault you get it on cast but in my experience it's a waste of talent points) when it's used. Also I would like to see something tied in with charged bolts, maybe that it would reduce alacrity of target for 10 secs by 50-100%, maybe only allowed to proc every 30 secs. I don't think BW will ever give us a ranged interupt so it would be a nice compromise (do BW compromise on class issues?). I play assault for pvp, I get on better with it as it suits my play style and can hold my own against most melee, which are our nemesis' atm, but some melee players that are just better than me rip me a new one. We don't need more dps, just a couple of extra tweeks that gives us a bit more survivability and some utility aswell.

Just tested this on training dummy, definitely seems to be bugged. http://www.fryingtime.com/?filename=combat_2012-04-24_14_58_49_681273.txt I got one to proc with plasma cell active and then switched to armour piercing cell as I needed 30 sec combat time for parser to work. As you can see it ticked only twice, I believe it's supposed to be 3 ticks?
  9. I am now convinced for sure that the BioWare team have no idea about gamers behaviour from the latest patch introduced. As many are stating here the reward system is borked. A good proportion of the wz matches on my server the republic start with 5 -6 people, we all acknowledge it's a loss from the get go and gamely carry on, we may achieve our 3 medal total and get our 30 commendations. Now if a match goes on for 15 minutes in that time you can use 5 wz medpaks and 5 expertise ones which has just cost you 200 commendations, but more often than not you won't be using that many so lets say you spend 100 commendations on the consumables, it's a net loss. Personally I am out of all consumables now and can't afford to replace them if I want to stand a chance of getting any War Hero gear in the next millenium. Basically if we don't have 8 people at the start of a wz, I leave straight away now, I never did this before in any mmo. I will not waste 15 minutes of my life being farmed by the opposition due to lack of numbers and which also means they are getting far more medals. In fact I ask everyone in the warzone when we're imbalanced just to leave so the opposition don't get much out of it either.
  10. I would say that a healer facing an equally skilled and equally geared pure dpser they should be able to keep themselves up without doing anything but healing themselves. So my answer to your question is 1.
  11. I have tried both gunnery and AS trees now for pvp (valor rank 64) and personally I can't stand gunnery for pvp. I think it is just that as gunnery I hate being an easy kill for melee, I know as AS I can't solo a healer but I have no problems with this (I think it should take 2 people to take down a healer). I like the mobility of damage on the run that AS gives me, the ability to DoT targets up who are after caps and to be able to kite melee about and slowly wear them down. Also against range utilising los is imo a great way to get as much dmg on them and as little on you. It's all down to personnal choice at the end of the day, but I think AS adds much more to the team than gunnery (for dmg builds).
  12. Just come here to agree on a very poor pvp reward system. At least make the tokens you get to purchase items not so specific. Group Implant/Earpiece/OH as one token, bracers/belt another and so on. Sitting on a tidy pile of gloves and earpieces with nothing else is really starting to annoy (though I appreciate I am lucky to get something out of the bags at least).
  13. Personally, it's not the time of day that bothers me, it's the day that they have chosen. Public bank holiday for alot of people, just got rid of family after Christmas and was looking forward to a good days play time before going back to work tomorrow. They could have held off on the patch/maintenance till tomorrow this one time, just shows a certain lack of consideration and local knowledge.
