  1. I keep using this Phrase I know, but here's the thing. The reason that a lot of people are enjoying SWTOR, is because it treats Narrative as an MMO feature. It is not a second to the gameplay for once, and the characters aren't there to get you to the next boss fight. The Flashpoints them selves are engrossing to me because there feels like there's a reason to be there, and that my character who has motivations, is there because of who he is, not just cause it was the only flashpoint available at the time. Narrative is a major part of Swtor, and I think that bioware has the same narrative mentality I do. If they do add in a new space combat-esque thing, it will have to be as narrative driven as the regular game, and outside of Wing-commander-esque cutscenes, I don't really see how that can be done. Err, I'd have to say that the opposite is true. 90% of the content is story related, and the only thing that has no real relation is crafting.
  2. You make no sense at all. You claim the games beta because it still has bugs in it, but now your saying that's not why it's beta? And guys, please, learn what beta is. It isn't "THAR BE BUGS", it's "We have a controlled environment in which we are able to hunt for bugs, and make design decisions, without alienating all our paying customers" Those Free to play beta's you keep getting into should not be how you actually treat betas.
  3. Here's the thing, then Space combat becomes a major part of the game. A plus is what we currently have, which is a mini-game that has space related shootings. What you're asking for is something someone will be sinking dozens of hours into, rather then the 10-20 minute thing we currently have. If it becomes that major, it will either need a narrative to work, or it won't really match the systems we have in place. I will say this though, it's possible that I'm just not seeing it your way because I ended up hating space combat in SWG. I felt like it was a grind fest, that had no purpose at all eventually, and didn't really further my character at all.
  4. You're perfectly fine. You'll know your underleveled if you start getting ***** by minions. Until then, you're fine.
  5. They sure as hell will. But, I'm hoping that the new flashpoints and raids will include tons of narrative and story like the previous ones did. I'm just not seeing how with the current cut scene and mission system we have in place, a narrative driven full free combat space sim could really work.
  6. I have to admit, Darth Bear *** doesn't look muscular at all. When I saw him, I did nothing but talk back, and call him dumb names and such. Seriously, who decided to make him a type 4? I mean sure, type 4 might be muscular, but they are the opposite of intimidating.
  7. This is a narrative, and character driven game. Unless we get Wing-commander-esque sequences between space missions, it's unlikely that the space combat really would fit.
  8. Take his clothes off and notice his absolutely massive muscles. If type 4 is fat, then Olympic Weightlifters are fat.

They weren't really newer. They were different. HK-47 ended up being compeltely unique, being made by Revan himself. HK-51's are made in a factory. Also, I've been running all over Hoth looking for an inkling of HK-51, but to no luck. I'm thinking they might of taken him out, since I haven't heard of anyone finding him. If you did, any idea where to start looking in Hoth?
  10. Err, I'm not really getting that at all actually. Down time is so small, and there's out of combat regen, so I have no problem running through combat with my DPS and his DPS companion. In fact, I actually think I can go through it faster that way, because I kill about twice as fast, and downtime is so small.
  11. Well the main issue is, space combat isn't meant as a whole other game, sorta like how PVP and PVE are, or how it was in SWG. It was meant as a simple mini-game, that was fun to do in small bursts, and that got you some free xp every day or so when you them. Bioware got that down. My only issue is with how few missions there are. If there were like 10 more missions or so, or more variety inside the instances, I think we'd all be perfectly fine with it.
  12. Either they speed the speed of the blasters by a considerable amount, or make it so that the blaster fire actually touching you doesn't matter. The first one doesn't really match the lore, and the second one sounds even worse in my opinion.
  13. Hay, the whole fat vikings thing came from something didn't it?
  14. Err.. What? Having a varity of companions that can do different roles depending on what you need in either your party, or in solo is suddenly a bad thing?
  15. Speeders my friend.. Speeders. Not to mention, type 4's were meant to tank!
  16. http://i42.tinypic.com/2w4wjy8.jpg FOUND IT! But err... Ya.
  17. Ouch.. I'm trying to find that picture of the naked Type 4 body.. BUT I CAN'T FIND IT!
  18. My last paragraph. Those other issues with the launcher and connectivity, as well as the chat bugs are quite a bit more major then everything but the Taris bug, at least I'd think so.
  19. That Twi-lek wasn't a slave, it was Darth Malgus's wife. She's awesome.
  20. I see this all over the place, but you guys know there's not actually a fat option. Size 4 males are actually ridiculously muscular, and and match how Olympic level weight lifters tend to look. Size 4 Females also look pretty damn muscular too, and while they don't look like Olympic level athletes (Seriously, those girls are men!), they are definitely not just fat. And err.. Ya.
  21. No, they really do. Some of the bugs that are affecting people are gamebreaking, but affect a really small amount of people. This is something that wouldn't be noticeable in the beta phase because of the small sample size, and the inability to gather the data to figure out what's wrong. And, like I said, yes there will be bugs that they can fix right away, but that will lead to other bugs, and when the game goes live it might not even be nearly as bad as bugs that really only popped up after it had gone live.

You're thinking of HK-47, and err, I already did the Empire equivalent of it, and they did let on about him being repaired for later use. The thing is, I heard it was a different droid, HK-51 who was a companion.
  23. You're not getting one simple problem. Scale. In beta testing it's a much smaller scale, and the servers tend to have less issues with them. The sample size is smaller as well, and they tend to be much more controlled. When the game goes live, it's no longer in a controlled environment. They are unable to predict what the servers will be handling, and now the sample size is much more massive, meaning that more and more people are having different kinds of issues. The fact is, while there will always be bugs to work out, the developer needs to decide when it is no longer cost effective, nor reasonable, to try and stamp out the remaining bugs, when so many more will still be there when it goes live.
  24. Really now? So you don't have an actual point, and can't back anything you say up with your own experience? It's just that "Other people are saying it's bad?" You're not even trying.
  25. I'm sorry? But what the hell are you talking about? I mean.. Really? Did you get out of Korriban yet? Are you still stuck in Drommund Kass? The game might not be Skyrim, or Witcher 2, but it looks absolutely amazing. Walk around the Dune Seas, or Tatooine. Check out Nar Shadda. Maybe just take a ride through Hoth. If you think this game looks terrible, then you're just being terribly biased. And tell me, which 2004 MMO had better graphics? COH? FFXI?
