  1. Fantastic! Thank you so much for making this happen, I was really worried we weren't going to get one this year! Much love!
  2. About a year ago the team asked for a list of Accessibility Improvements. Things that could be done to increase play-ability for people with disabilities and there have been some REALLY good suggestions and feedback in that thread. https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=988447 Sadly, that thread has since turned into a ghost town and many great issues such as the larger sized chat window have been left (again) by the wayside. I logged onto the PTR today and was really hoping to see attention to those accessibility improvements that were requested and discussed.
  3. Impression: Over all the new character creation system looks great. Smooth and well designed. It feels very much updated and very clean. I like the change alot. Difficulties: Need to be able to zoom closer into faces at times, and the ability to 'strip clothes' would ve nice as some of the models and clothing sets block aspects of creation. The zoom/turn icon can get to where it blocks portions of the menu options, might be wise to move that to the center of the screen under the character itself. PLEASE: Offer the wide range of hairstyles and colors, and scars and makeup across the board. The human model has very nice scarring for Sith characters but it is only usable on human/sith. Those same scars should be available for Mirialans, Purebloods, Rattataki etc... let US decide what looks good and what we want to look like, please stop hiding certain appearance options/details behind races without reason. Also, why limit pureblood hairstyles so severely? Every hair/scar/cosmetic options really needs to be available for every character type where it makes sense. The new hairstyles are fantastic, as is the ability to have mild facial hair on the female models. BUT can we get the 'under hair' of those light beard models separated? The new afro hairstyles look better with a bit of scruff on the scalp but right now they are tied to the light beard options I will always ask for account unlock titles, body tattoos for Mirialan's, and a larger chat window. But since we are revisiting character creation, PLEASE take the time to remove the walls to customization that seem so arbitrary. Certain hairstyles are only available to certain races even though they are the exact same model. Certain tattoo/scar/makeup and complexions are only available to one race/sex/faction/class combination, there is no reason that those cant be opened up to allow for greater customization across the board. Please take the time to do that, it would greatly enrich the character creation process and give the players a greater connection to their characters.
  4. It's been 8 months since this thread was posted, any news on anything discussed here? Especially the larger chat window?
  5. Hello and thank you for this post. Currently the chat window size is incredibly difficult to use, especially at larger font sizes. It would really be an accessibility and communications boon to be able to expand the window in a much better way. I have made this suggestion before and it dissolved into a 'click the triangle' discussion for pages and pages without anyone actually showing anything. So I am providing pictures this time. Here is the current maximum chat window size: https://i.imgur.com/GCIUcsg.png Here is what is needed for both accessibility and ease of use for a variety of communities: https://i.imgur.com/w6IiapX.png I would really like to see the ability to expand the chat window to a much larger area added to the accessibility options. Chat buffer size does not need to change, only the size of the window in the interface, it currently has a limit that is stifling. Thank you.
  6. I have an old main that I want to transfer from one server to another, using the name of an advanced character on the destination server. How do I do this properly so I am not locked out of the name on the destination server? I would prefer NOT to delete the current character on the destination server but I will if I have to. I see 3 options, I need to know which option will allow me to keep the name I have on the destination. 1: Transfer "Keep Name" off destination server, Transfer "New Char" on to destination server and rename. 2: Delete "Keep Name" off destination server, transfer "New Char" onto destination server and rename. 3: Rename "Keep Name", Transfer "New Char" onto Destination Server and rename. Option 3 is the best option for me, but I have heard rumors of people being locked out of their character names for 3 to 4 months because the server somehow reserves the name for a while after a transfer or rename or something? Any guidance is helpful, trying to figure this out, thank you.
  7. I did try as you suggested. As far as I can find the global settings and interface settings hold very little sway over the chat window size at all and will not accomplish the goal I am after. The crux of the issue is trying to fit quite a lot of text onto the screen all at once. When I play, it is usually 4 to 8 people in a space each typing emotes and text in paragraph form. When you have such a small chat window it makes it difficult to keep up and there is a lot of scrolling involved. We are talking multiple full character limit posts by several people at once. Quite a lot of text. If the ability to expand the chat window all the way down from the top left to the bottom left corner of the screen were possible with the GUI would be an amazing boon for the RP side of the community. The text buffer size would not need to be increased at all, just the physical limitations of the length of the chat box which are currently in place. Currently it is not possible to make the chat window even close to the size that would be attractive to the RP community..
  8. thank you <3 This is something that has been bothering me for years and years. Roleplayers often struggle to fit their text in the chat window, when in larger groups chat can scroll QUICKLY when you have 5 to 50 people writing in full paragraphs. If I had my Ideal, I would put the chat window on the far left, as high up as possible and then straight down to the bottom so that about 1/3rd of my screen is the chat window. This would be a major major boon for the RP community.
  9. As near as I can tell, that function other than UI scale does not affect the chat window size, I invite you to try... I hope I am wrong, but I have been trying to expand the windows for years. I and the people I play with write in paragraph form.
  10. I've been doing that. Please show a screenshot with a similar UI size & resolution where the entire left hand side of your screen or even 2/3rds of it covered in chat window and I will delete this post
  11. Unfortunately this is not correct. Here is an example of the largest I can make my chat window, even by moving the chat window around and dragging the triangle, it does not go larger than this, unless I am missing an options toggle or something. https://i.imgur.com/z4tuvTi.jpg I appreciate the help, but I think people are underestimating just how large I would like the window
  12. I would have it cover 1/3rd of my screen in one long panel, I interact mostly through text, as far as I know you cannot get it even 25% of the size that I would want. At my resolution the largest I can get the chat window is about 2.5 inches x 4inches. It doesn't click and drag any larger. Even if moved to the middle or top of the screen.
  13. Seriously, all I want for Christmas is a larger chat window. As part of the RP community I would fill the entire left hand side of my screen with the chat window if I could. The 2 inch x 4 inch current window is highly inefficient and inadequate. Space Santa please. --- Edit for confusion: Here is an example of the largest I can make my chat window, even by moving the chat window around and dragging the triangle, it does not go larger than this, unless I am missing an options toggle or something. https://i.imgur.com/z4tuvTi.jpg
