  1. Never really understood the attitude of "game breaking immersion" by people with wierd names. I've know lots of people (IRL) with real names. When I was in the Navy I came across a guy named "Mercury Constellation Starcruiser"! Wierd names IRL = wierd names in-game as well. For me I used those names as in indication to give those people a wide berth, and a 1 way ticket to my ignore list.
  2. Worked fine for me as well. Ordered the Digital Deluxe Version, got e-mailed on the 16th with the Product Code, entered it in my SWTOR account info, works fine.
  3. Once you enter your product code (not the pre-order code) it will show up in your mail in-game.
  4. I wonder what the "behind the scene reason" is for this option to be turned off by default?
  5. Same here. Got the e-mail today, applied the code, done!
  6. Necessary Evil! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_vlLKA6xeU
  7. I'm sorry, but I have to ask......how do you say, "I just ate a Twinkie" in German?
  8. Sadly, I will be at work by that time, so that is not possible for me.
  9. Twink (from soley my knowledge) was the use of a higher level character (typically your main) to outfit an alt (secondary character with gear/cash/buffs which generally eased or speeded your alt's leveling. The act was called Twinking.
  10. OMG...I've head the "This MMO will be the doom of {insert MMO here}" ever since I started playing Asheron's Call. It just goes to show that all of this has been posted before, and will be posted again!
  11. Actually, I did. Digital Download version, the first day it was available.
  12. Yeah..the native shard thing...I could see that as a valid issue. Again, been fortunate in that respect as well.
  13. Where to begin? - They've began re-mastering the episodes. - Ground combat got a complete overhaul (Shooter mode!) - The Space map was redone (no more grids) - Several new episodic missions - User Generated Content (Many which are better then the dev created missions!) - Task Forces are getting an overhaul However, with STO going Free to Play, I'm not sure what the future holds. Might be worth a second look once they re-launch in January (if I'm not mistaken).
  14. Not only is Hindsight 20/20, but you have to put up with that voice in your head that keeps repeating, "See...I told you!"
  15. No need to be a Devil's Advocate...it did suck! But yeah that game suffers from the same one this one will...there are people who want to PLAY in a Star Trek/Star Wars setting and there are people that want to LIVE in a Star Trek/Star Wars setting.
  16. Dude...I play Star Trek Online. It's been a rough (and sometimes dry) ride, but it has improved drastically since release. IMHO that game was released way too early.
  17. Yeah..the grace period was a major flub, but I believe that had more to do with the suits at EA then Bioware. In the end though it worked out.....and in a year or so it won't matter at all.
  18. Heh...the ONLY reason I'm not playing now is becuase I'm at work (or if it's down for maintenance).
  19. After skimming through the myriad of posts on the general board, I'm left with the impression that this game will garner the "Worst MMO of the Year" award. However, I've yet to see any of the issues I've seen posters complain about... - I got into early access promptly on the very first day (as I did a modicum of research concerning early access and preordered the first chance I got.) - I've never had any issues with pre-order codes - I've never had to wait in a queue - No real lag issues - No sudden crashes to desktop In fact, I've been pretty much non-stop playing since early access began! Maybe I'm just lucky, but something tells me the vast majority of my fellow gamers are having no issues either. Lastly, I could have swore they were going to do a forum wipe after beta. However, I can't really tell. It's almost like someone "saved" their old posts and put them back on the forums!
  20. Agreed. Pre-ordered (and applied code) the first day it was available. So for (aside from some nominal FPS issues in graphic intense areas) I've had ZERO problems.
  21. What are you paying? The only money I put down was $5 to pre-order the game. You can't even buy a sub yet.
