  1. I think that the problem is, is that this is the "final grind" and once you get it there is no carrot on a stick to go after anymore, until they introduce better gear to chase. They are likely not focused on more gear to grind for this early in the games release, and are using this system to keep you grinding for as long as possible so they have lots of time to make something new for you to try to get. I believe the system is working as intended in the devs eyes. When this system gets "fixed" some time in the future, after much uproar on the forums, it will probably come with more high end gear to go after, and some new ridiculously difficult way to get it. Probably have to spend commendations for lotto tickets that have a weekly drawing or something.
  2. huttball is so, so bad I've given up on it completely. But I'm happy you found this, maybe they will actually take a look at it now.
  3. The idiots guide is press grav round button. The guide posted above is really good though. Its exactly what I use, I'm not sure how to make it better.
  4. My understanding was that you were supposed to get merc commendations and Valor for open world kills. However, now I can't find a link or anything, so I could be completely wrong. As it stands now though, I have intentionally avoided a few encounters just because there is no reason to do it. Its pointless, and needs to be fixed. As for the poster who said "its only been out a week, give it time" yeah I understand that, and its okay. But at some point, we are going to have to stop saying that. How long is too long? Only been out a month? Only been out 6 weeks? Two months? I know this is not the main focus of this game, that is the fully voiced story. But it still needs to be fixed, and I'd love some kind of dev comment on if this no rewards system is working as intended, and every open world PvP encounter is designed to be a type of credit sink (looser has to rep his gear, winner gets nothing) or if we need to just be patient and wait for a reward system to be implemented.
  5. It effects everyone who uses it equally. Nobody has to respec to enjoy the content. Nobody has to buy a 220K mount training for an additional 10% speed boost either. Its purely optional, like all credit sinks (apart from the "death penalty" one, which could be optional depending on how you look at it) And really, nobody should have to farm credits for hours. Absolutely everything you do in this game gives you credits. Every quest, every warzone, every space battle, even the constant "junk" loot from 90% of killed mobs. I even think I made a few thousand chatting with my companion on my ship the other day. Not to mention the constant materials all over every planet you come across. Every action the player takes apart from walking is one giant credit faucet, and there are very few sinks. You should be "rich" in the sense that you can buy whatever you want and likely respec dozens of times with credits to spare by level 25 or 30. By 40-50 most are filthy rich, and you would have to try pretty hard not to be. Respec costs at that stage are so trivial as to not really matter. Just doing your daily's nets you a quarter million. I think the costs are fully intended to be this way, and I think we need to give it a try for the economies sake, before we start complaining that we can't switch from dps to healer and back again in between every flashpoint, class quest and warzone.
  6. I still say we need our own exclusive TOR "can I have your stuff" saying. I was pushing for the Yoda type, "your stuff, have can I?" but I'm open to suggestions. We have plenty of time to figure one out, cause all these threats to leave will probably go on for months, giving us ample opportunity to use it.
  7. I think its an excellent credit sink, and something the game needs more of. There is already very little use for credits in game, and within a couple of months the majority of servers are going to be filled with hoards of multi millionaires with nothing to spend money on anyway. So what if it costs you "up to 99K" to respec. Its good for the game.
  8. So I've been a Gunnery Commando for 40 levels now, and just unlocked Demo Round. I fully enjoy PvP as a gunner, although its pretty reliant on Grav round, HIB and full auto rotations. PvP seems to be about getting set up, and unloading for as long as possible, Grav, Grav, Demo, Full Auto if Grav round makes the yellow swirls appear, HIB, Grav round, Target is dead, press tab, Grav, Grav, etc until they close and kill me or run behind cover or run away out of range. Sometimes they close right away, sometimes I get set up and melt people all day. Once in a great while I get to Mortor Volley a group of 6 or so and watch the little yellow numbers bounce all over the place, which is extremely satisfying, and once in a while I even get away and heal myself. I also have been very successful in my limited open world PvP confrontations, with Dorne healing me. The consensus seems to be that Gunnery is for PVE and Assault is more for PVP. I've decided to try it, and looking at the tree I have a general idea why its better to be mobile and throw stuff and light people on fire and still have a chance to get away once in a while. I don't fully understand everything though, and thought others might be thinking about this move as well. I know some of you have done it and have lots of experience with Assault PVP, or went Assault from the get go, so I was hoping for some tips and tricks, and a general run down of how to play Assault for PvP and how its different. I know it is completely free to just re spec and try it, so maybe I should just do that, but I kind of wanted to go in with a plan. Thanks in advance.
  9. I have about 4 quests I cannot reset or abandon or complete in my log. I have to keep an eye on it because if I get too many at once it locks up some other features, and make me "not eligible for this conversation" when I try to leave my ship, etc. I know stay frosty is still there, even though I think I completed it (and got some Dark I lightsaber I sold on the market for 9999 credits after slaying the boss guy,) also the tatooine bonus quest is stuck for me as well. I'm just ignoring it for now, I'm sure they will fix this stuff eventually, but its good to know I'm not alone
  10. Just got the same problem. I just got the email with the gear in it and no mission although the email told me to go see her. Place where she should be is locked. Somebody has to know something?

    No arenas? Bye

enjoy your wow! cya! Also, can I have your stuff?
  12. I can guarantee you, with 100% certainty, that SI's will get nerfed. I have never called for it myself, and I don't play one in game, but due to the massive outcry from the player base, it will happen. Its only a matter of time, and all the SI whining and threatening to quit won't stop it. I've seen it happen in every mmo Ive ever played, "balance" changes will come, and the community is focused on lightning. Its only a matter of when and how much. I promise.
  13. as a cybertech, I find I cannot keep up with the market demand for reflex mods of all levels. I'm sure it will even out, but right now its like printing money
  14. I was gonna post this but you beat me to it, so you should get the stuff. Also, in star wars, we should start saying, "Your stuff I can have, hmm?" or something more Yoda like. We will figure something out eventually.
  15. Theres whining on every page of this thread...
  16. I'm not personally against a server only LFD, but I get tired of the constant "this will kill this game" and "me and my eleventeen friends are all gonna quit" posts. Its always over some aspect of this game not mimicking wow. Its obviously from someone who came over from there and isn't happy that is game isn't a proper clone. It is in every other thread, in every other post in general discussion. I'm fine with how things are now, I like the making friends part so I can group with them later, but if they changed them, I'd adapt to the changes or quit if I didn't like them. But I'll be dammed if I'm gonna cry like a child who just got told "no" by his mommy. Adapt to the way the game is. Its still fun. Don't think its fun? Just leave. I have no idea why you can't find a group. Maybe be nicer to the next people you group with? Add them to your friends list? Ask them to group in the future with you? I've never had to wait 2 hours to do anything in this game, and I think I'd wait about 30 minutes tops before I just did a warzone or something else and tried again later. Its not hard to find something fun to do, if you can't, you shouldn't play. Be social, make friends. Stop trying to automate everything.
  17. For me, It was a little tight paying for all the crafting in the beginning, but once I got it up to about 250 or so it became profitable. I used warzones to pay for the missions to get mats and such when my character was in his teens and starving for crafting cash.
  18. God I love listening to all the kiddies whine. "Ohh this game is gonna die if I don't get my way, whine whine whine, Me and my friends are gonna quit if we don't get what we want, bla bla bla" Also, obligatory, and it still fits, GO BACK TO WOW
  19. Probably not until they get all the other serious bugs fixed in the game first, like class quests that don't work, getting stuck just trying to walk places, animation lag, etc. If they add "features" that a large amount of the player base don't even want, before fixing critical release bugs, I think people would have a legitimate reason to whine more. Generally making sure people can actually play their classes is more important than these types of things.
  20. Perhaps they are not intending to ban botters. Some MMO's have a strict policy to do so, but when it comes time to enforce it, they'd rather just take the extra subs.
  21. Since we've gone five pages now and no one has asked... Can I have your stuff? On topic, the BH quest bug is most definitely game breaking. This is the first I've heard about it, but I play republic so I don't know any BH'ers, in particular female ones. But if your truly stuck dead in the water on a class quest, this should be fixed asap and you should perhaps be given a few days free game time. But seriously, are you on Iron Citadel? If so, can I have your stuff?
  22. Nobody likes you stupid twi'leks, thats why they aren't gonna do anything for ya. Go back to your stupid twi'lek homes, and leave us decent hood wearing types alone! *shakes fist angrily in the air*
  23. I very much like it as well. Or at least I think I will once its more fleshed out, there's not much to it as far as I can tell as of today. Thats fine by me, I see its potential.
  24. What could you possibly need to buy with in game credits that costs so much that you need to pay real money to get? That wristband that gets you to the exclusive cantina isn't really all that special you know.
