  1. South City St Louis playing on Sanctum of the Exalted
  2. There should be a visual indication. Most bosses start glowing red when they enrage.
  3. For most, a boss respawning and giving the raid a chance to kill him again for another loot pinata wouldn't be a bad thing.
  4. I have been 400 Biochem since the second week after launch and have been using the various reusables ever since. On average, I use any one adrenal, stim, or medpac about once or twice an hour. Anyone using them "all the time as a regular strategy" is playing the game wrong. Going forward, I'll be using the consumables if the stats are better and chalk up the hours and credits spent on Biochem as another lesson learned while I contemplate what new craft I'll be taking up to replace it.
  5. Welcome to every MMO ever made or that ever will be made. Have a nice day.
  6. Dismiss the companion before starting cut scenes when you know they won't like your answers and you won't take the negative hits to affection. This should work for everything with the exception of cut scenes on your ship when all your companions attend by default.
  7. Our group has been going with 2 tanks(really only need one), 4 healers(could get by with 3 sages), and 10 DPS. As others have said, with current boss mechanics, ranged DPS is preferred over melee.
  8. It's happened to us on two different occasions in the last phase when the main tank was put in a mind trap. It's like he's attempting to maintain aggro on someone who is no longer there and so he just resets himself.
  9. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a vague idea of what is being discussed before posting on the topic.
  10. This is what I've been saying for a few weeks now. The current loot system has value in Pugs and other groups where you may not trust the master looter. It should not be mandatory for everyone though. The raid leader should be able to select the loot system at the beginning of the run. That way, someone running in a pug could could make an informed choice as to whether he wants to stay with the group upon seeing the loot choice made by the leader but set groups running with those they trust would have the option to have a master loot system and decide who gets what piece.
  11. There is specific mention in the next set of patch notes that this bug is going to be fixed. It will be nice. I've finished Eternity vault each of the past three weeks without getting credit once yet.
  12. I suppose you still do have something to learn though seeing as how every other tank I've played with has been able to pull him out and close to the edge without getting knocked off themselves.
  13. Which companion to use really depends upon whether you are a heal, tank, or DPS specced trooper and what you are fighting at the time. If you are not swapping companions in and out based on what role you need filled at that moment then you are making the leveling process harder & longer than it needs to be.
  14. His main point is still valid. Any damage taken during the cast will cause us to lose 1/3 of the damage output from one of our highest DPS skills. That is a fairly major bug and needs to be addressed.
  15. Combat medics are good healers. I enjoy the role immensely. But with the Sage AoE heal not being limited to 3 players and the bubble they get, they are going to be better.(especially in a raid situation) The disparity in AoE heals between the classes is something that BW will need to address sooner rather than later. As it stands now, someone running a raid would have no reason to ever take a combat medic over a sage if the want to maximize healing.
  16. The moddable weapon/armor piece may have class specific requirements in order to use it, but not the items that you plug into the slot themselves. As far as I know, a red crystal is a red crystal whether you are plugging it into a blaster or a light saber.
  17. If you can use the crystal currently(which is completely dependent upon the restrictions/requirements you see when mousing over it), and it's in a moddable weapon, you can remove it for a fee and place it into another moddable weapon.
  18. Experiment with different moddable autocannons. They vary widely in appearance and some of them are a bit more compact and smaller in size. With so many to choose from, you should be able to find one that has the appearance you are looking for.
  19. I was under the impression that respec costs reset back to zero once a week on Tuesday like most of the other weekly resets.
  20. There are skills in your tree that require the autocannon. Any Commando that uses a blaster rifle is giving up DPS and utility for nothing more than aesthetics. It's not the way our AC was meant to be played.
  21. I like to use it whenever I have a mob/player in melee range and cryo grenade is up. Cryo grenade > blitz > stock strike puts out a nice burst of damage in a short period of time without using a lot of ammo. It's one of those situational things. I wouldn't make an effort to try to close within melee distance to use that combo if I was at normal combat range already, but it makes sense if they have come to you.
  22. I too like to make broad generalizations that apply to half a games 1.5 million player population based upon my observations of a few dozen of them over less than a week's time.
  23. Ilum is as close as it gets to DAOC style RvR. At least it's a non instanced zone with open PvP where the two factions are fighting for control of the bases. Hopefully, in future upgrades/expansions, they add additional content to the zone to fight over with more rewards based upon both capturing and defending.
  24. When I avoid the the fire, I don't take any damage from it. When I stand in the fire, I take a lot of damage. After giving it much thought & going over my strats, I decided I would avoid standing in the fire in all my matches. I couldn't be happier with my choice.
  25. There's a reason why "free for all" rule set servers with a severe death penalty are only found in third rate MMO's with tiny player populations. The vast majority of MMO players just aren't interested in a free for all environment with harsh penalties associated with dying. Why would any company spend 100+ million in developing an MMO to serve a potential community of players that would number in the 10's of thousands, not millions? Has there ever been an MMO whose primary rule set included a harsh death penalty in a free for all environment that ever topped 100k in subscribers? Most that I've known, seemed to struggle to get over 10,000 subscribers.(if they managed to stay afloat at all) Even DAOC, widely regarded as one of the best and most successful PvP MMO's of all time, was not a "free for all" environment nor was it's death penalty very harsh.
