  1. Yes, that's exactly the point. Battlefront is a canon-game, we are not a canon-game (ATM)
  2. It's not trolling to point out that a non-lore based game is deemed worthy enough by Disney to receive information about SW VII plot, while a lore-based game such as TOR is not And please, note this : we (TOR) can't just say ''we are in the past, so we can't be affected by lore''. Korriban/Morriban anyone ?
  3. What is hard to understand in ''Emprise du Lion'' is a much more open zone than for instant Hoth ?
  4. Okay, dumb question : have you played DAI ? In a zone like, say, ''Emprise du Lion'' ?
  5. Battlefront IS drawing from Jakku. Dice WAS obviously told some info about the movie plot.
  6. Precisely. It would be easy for TOR to take Tatooine assets and say ''here is Jakku''. And yet, Bio-Austin is either unable or is not judged worthy to particpate in such cross-promotion campagin.
  7. How hard it would be for TOR to have a planet like Jakku ?
  8. http://www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-battlefront-battle-of-jakku-2015-4 It's a source of worry for me that TOR is sort of left out of the loop about the new lore, while not lore heavy game like Battlefront obviously got some info from Disney/EA....
  9. I don't say it's a great game (it's a good game), I say that Bioware zones in DAI shows skills that were sorely lacking in early TOR.
  10. How it's trolling to note that DAI travel system require ONE load to switch zones ? How it's trolling to note that you can actually skip whole zones of DAI if you overevel them ?¸ How it's trollling to point that a zone like the Exalted Marches is much more open than TOR zones ? You really don't think that some of that stuff could apply to TOR ?
  11. And let's not forget, TRAVEL. Moving from one point to the other in DAI require ONE loading and can be initiated anywhere on the map, without CD. ONE.
  12. Okay, but it's silly to point out that the maps are more open in one than in the other ? (optional zones like ''Storm Coast'' or ''Exalted Marches'' are extremely MMO like) ? That there is less backtracking for quests ? That there is ACTUAL choice for leveling ?
  13. I bought DAI in november, there was a graphical card issue, I evoked a lot the name of our Lord, then waited till end of march and played it. It's a game with flaws, but enjoyable. What is peculiar is that the design of the zones of DAI is MUCH better than TOR ones Wait, I have Jedi powers, and I guess what you are going to say : duh, that does not count, DAI is a single player game. Well, yes. It's an unusual single player game, however (with several very large zones that are very MMO like) Here are what IMO five quite superior designs points 1)A sorely needed flexibility in leveling. Infamously, you can stay for hours in the Hinterlands. Or you can go to Val Royeaux to proceed with the main quest. Or you can go to the optionnal Fallow Mire. Or the Strom Coast. Or all three. There are several purely optional zones (''optional'' is to be used carefully, as you need to do SOME quests...) 2)A main story that is narratively a bit bland, but game wise very functionnal. To summarize, you need to do minimal work in ''main zones'' to progress the storyline, which occurs in separate zones. The separation between ''optional'' and ''main story'' is much clearer 3)Much better quest flow. Even purely optional objectives (shards, astrariums) are nicely integrated in the flow of the zones. There is not as much backtracking, which is absurd since... 4)Infinitely better travel system. DAI have , frankly, the most efficient system that I ever see. The zones are littered with fast transit points that can be acessed anytime outside of combat, without CD. It's possible to be questing in the middle of a desert, spot a dragon that require ice damage, go back to Skyhold (the base) for respec (if you don't have with you the carriable respec items. CARRIABLE) , go to another zone to fetch a crafting material for fire resistance potions and return to the questing zone in a couple of minutes (Now, I admit that I now have a quite fast computer, but still, loading times are both speedier and rarer in DAI...) 5)Much more open zones. Sure, there are annoying parts in the hinterlands, but DAI zones are far less ''on rail''. Please note here that comparing DAI to SWTOR is not 'silly'' since both games are from the same developper.
  14. Maybe the actor don't want to tour conventions for the next fourty years ? Adam West, I'm sure, would have prefered at times to not have been Batman There are worse things than death, and there is worse things than Jar Jar. But nothing beats Batusi.
  15. That would not be cool, that's sort of necessary to happen and fast. The new EU have focused thus far on stuff between the movies (III and IV, mostly, some between IV and V). Stuff that, by definition, can't shake things beyond the movie canon. The game changing stuff-post VI-is planned for september 2015. September 2015, the origin of Jedi and Sith can be reworked completely. September, the republic origin can be changed.
  16. But admit it, if Disney had done the small step of telling EA ''okay, the plot will occurs on Ziost, can you put something about that in SWTOR'' ? that would be a good sign about the future of TOR ? (IE, Disney cares)
  17. At 1:10, the whole Empire revealed scene shows clearly that this occurs on a snowy zone (well, in the real world, it could just be, you know, winter, but we all know that it's SW, it means a cold planet) Could the seat of this demoniac Imperial remant be Ziost ? If there is any concertation between Disney and EA (and any hope for future TOR lore status), the arrival of Ziost zone in TOR would be almost in synchro with ''Awakens'' announcement)
  18. They finally do something with Leia that was not done in all the previous canon. Send her to Naboo.
  19. I don't want to be negative, but do you really think that after a game that was not exactly a whopping sucess EA will launch a new game that will cannibalize the subs from this game ?
  20. Rebels have many issues, but sexualized amor for Sabine ? It does show she have breasts, yes, but compared to like 95% of armor in fantasy...
  21. If everything fails, just release an armor set of the new vilain. That said, they ould have released a Darth Vader set or even a Sabine set for BH...and they did not.
  22. That would have been more salvagable without the Cloned Emperor...Callista...the Yuutzan Vong...anything post Yuutzan Vong. IE, if the EU had limited itself to Thrawn and X-Wing (but that would not have been much of an EU), those stories could have been easily made canon.,
  23. Yes, but the sales of the Rebels tie-in novel were apparently very low.
  24. SW VII will (hopefully) boost again SW brand at large (altough TBF the new canon seems hardly as popular as the old one...) : maybe SWTOR could catch the proverbial gravy train ? Disclaimer : Lore wise, TOR is not in such a bad shape, as despite the lore ''reboot'', many things from the old EU are still perfectly applicable (one element coming to my mind are the Killiks, from Alderaan....There are obviously Killiks mounds on Lothal, a canon world)...but more to the point, we are so much in the past that it does not matter that much, unless the movies decide to change so much the background of the Sith that it will be unsalvageable here (to be honest, if Disney threw to the garbage Thrawn and Mara Jade, it's not looking rosy for the Cold War...) So to be blunt, either Abrams Siths are compatible with ''us'' and it's possible to cough a storyline, or either they are not...it's impossible to know ATM. A)Realistic but improbable A planet or flashpoint featuring a new planet of SW VII. Pros : Very MMO like. Plus one of the planet of SW VII is obviously Tatooine. Cons : Ressource heavy B)Realistic but shameless Creative integrity is ditched : we fight a vision of the future of the some kind (which totally does not happen all the time in SW....right, Luke on Dagobah) and that vision is either the new supervilain or Darth Vader. And that's the kind of vision you deal with lightsaber style. Or blaster style. Pros : Honestly, while appreciating Bioware efforts toward storyline, they do have good vilains (Darth Revan, Darth Malak, the Emperor)...and they have a tons of random Sith Lords and former army officers going rogue that are not that interesting. A 16-man fight against Darth Vader might be a complete insanity story wise, but if people want it... Cons : Without sounding negative, we could have fought since 2012 against Mara Jade vision, Thrawn vision, Darth Vader vision, Palpatine vision, or even if really really in a scratch for vilains that sponge-guy from the Crystal Star vision. So I doubt it will happen against Darth NewAbramsVilain or Admiral EvilDudethatiwllgetchokedbyDarthNewAbramsVilain or Apprentice JediwhoseparentswerekilledbyNewsAbramsVilainandfalltothedarkside
