  1. Do what real economies do: introduce tariffs or taxes on commerce. Nothing on the GTN should ever generate >100 million credits in one shot, so tax the heck out of them. Anything under 1 million shouldn't have a tax, but then make it progressively less profitable as prices go up (10% at 1 million, 30% at 10 million, 50% at $100 million, etc.). That will take large chunks of money out of circulation, but only affect the luxury end of the market, bringing prices and inflation down together.
  2. I've just confirmed, that from the side works. As a smuggler I start in cover, just to drop some things like Sabotage Charge, then immediately run right at him and then to one side. As long as I stay to his side, he's not a terribly difficult mob to beat. Just always stay on his side, even if it means you can't attack, because your companion will attack for you.
  3. I SOOOO agree! This is one of the most annoying things in this game. I can tolerate (barely) that I have to collapse categories (although pre-collapsed would also help with the load speed), but the fact that I have to change the order every time I log in or go to another area is baffling. Seriously, what good is sorting by Difficulty anyway? Even sorting by Rating would be better. Or at least remember the previous setting rather than resetting it all the time. I'm also shocked at how new this post is - I'm surprised this "feature" wasn't fixed ages ago. Please help Bioware! Thanks!
  4. My question wasn't about end game per se, so to simplify: How can the game be improved so that we have the ability to "grow" a character (or its gear/skills/companions) after it hits level 50? I would like to see some reason to continue doing the normal quests, but right now I would stop questing until the level cap is raised, and then go back to them at that time. I get that the end game is a reason enough to play the character, for those people whose schedules allow (mine doesn't). I was specifically trying to address ways to grow characters after level cap, because that keeps me engaged - and I suspect there are a lot more people out there with a similar play style to mine.
  5. Yup, I'm closing in on lvl 50 on 4 of the 8 classes (I played them pretty much in parallel). I was just trying to highlight that for any given alt, once I hit 50, I don't have much of a reason to play that alt anymore until the level cap is raised. And at some point I'll stop playing until a release comes out that raises the cap. I would figure they'd want to keep me paying...
  6. As my alts approach lvl 50 (I took the scenic route), I'm concerned that I won't have any interest in playing after cap because there is no way to "grow" anymore. Yes, I could raid for gear (I'm a soloer), or do it for the story, but so far no solo content has been added since release. Legacy is a good start - it gives me another set of XP to go for, but it's not yet rewarding enough to pursue for its own sake. Other MMOs have item leveling, which keeps me engaged. A way to level our skills or companions would be awesome. For the devs: Because I know at some point the level cap will be raised, I feel like I'm wasting XP by doing quests after I'm capped out. If I have other incentives to keep questing after 50, such as knowing that it gives XP to legacy, gear, skills, or companions, then I won't care so much about the cap. And that will keep me playing and paying. Anyone else agree or have similar ideas? I know - do the group content, but unfortunately I can't due to RL.
  7. I'm have always been primarily a solo player, mainly because I have to drop off frequently. However, I play many hours a day, just not in a row. I would *love* to be able to do content by myself (with or without my team - good idea that!). Instead I feel that the closer I get to level 50, the more it looks like I will be forced to get in some groups to get decent enough gear to complete the story line. I really hate that, because I have no other alternative. Another MMO (the one with Hobbits) made some great changes to their content over time to "open up" the group content to soloers. It gave groups the first stab at these raids, but eventually everyone got to play them. They also introduced a parallel system called skirmishes, that allowed for both soloers and groups, and scaled appropriately - you could even choose to make it harder or easier and the loot & challenge would scale with it. This opened up a whole new way to play, and kept me interested. As it is now, I feel that the minute I hit 50 on a character, I'll stop playing that character, because there will be no growth. For soloers like myself it feels like the end game is truly the end, rather than a goal I strive to reach.
