  1. I can see that, but it seems unnecessary at this stage of the game. The content, you mentioned, has been there since launch, with more added as time passed. There is no reason for Bioware to direct players toward that type of gameplay.
  2. Some interesting thoughts about this subject. Except for the "life lesson" comment. Things have been constructive and interesting. PvP, Guilds, Operations, Flashpoints and Starfighter are in the game and available as an OPTION for all players to try out when/should they choose too. BioWare does not need to lead players by the nose to "try out content". Setting things up to make players partake in content they do not enjoy is a good way to turn players from a game. The following is an example of the mentality that directed content like PvP, Flashpoints, Operations, and such can and do create. ***So seeing as how I would like to have "X-character" as part of "My Story" and to get "X-character", x-number of PvP matches will have to be played to acquire said character, the following is the answer. I will join the PvP matches and do nothing during said matches, as I do not care for the outcome win/lose personally. This will have an effect on the PvP players experience. I will likely get reported for "doing nothing". Trouble is, I don't care.*** To those that like PvP (in SWTOR) I ask you. Are players that think like this someone you want on your team? If you have a full PvP group you run with, please be smart enough to know this question is not directed at you and your team.
  3. Good point. This is not about PvP Gameplay vs PvE Gameplay. Bioware says "...Your Story..." and yet takes away at least 2 Companions, three if you don't want to hunt down World Bosses for the Trandoshan. Personally I had hoped to build a team that was dedicated to the Empire. In MY STORY those who supported the Empire were to be my supporters and would follow me to meet my destiny. Pierce is one companion I wanted on my team. Looks like Bioware was wrong about the "Your Story". PvP is pointless and little more than filler content for an MMO. The biggest flaw in any MMORPG is always it's PvP. Most of the changes to both gear and abilities stems from PvP. That is not to say that PvE is flawless, so don't start that.
  4. Lana send the PC to Dromund Kaas to "recruit" Major Pierce to the Alliance. Major Pierce seems to think PVP wins are required to convince him to join. Forcing players into PVP is a bad choice. Many players do not like PVP and therefore do not partake. I am one of those players. I express my extreme disappointment at your choice to force players to take part in PVP for a PVE "Story" component.
  5. Most companions have some form of stance toggle (lame), but the ability to spec them out as a full T/H/D would be a nice addition.
  6. Not all 3D printers are the same. Each print would have to be inspected for flaws and packaged by hand. High quality 3D printing can take hours to complete. I agree this is a neat idea, and that it could be done fairly easily. Only 4 body types to choose from. Each selection for hair/face/complexion/horns/etc is numbered. So applying that design to a printed statue would be relatively easy. So you select your character and based on the choices from character creation you have the base for head and body. Gear on the other hand would be a bit more difficult. With the abundance of gear options and the number of combinations... ouch. So likely you would be left with a selection of 4 gear options, or the class gear shown at character creation. Cost would be high. 5000 - 7000... more like 40000 (roughly $300 ea). $100 for the creation of the statue + $100 due to custom design + $50 processing & packaging by hand + $50 profit. I would almost say 5000 - 7000 for a file that someone could print or have printed. Pick your character, Pick your pose, Pick your gear. Bio sends you the file fitting the choices you make. You print it yourself or take it to a 3D Print shop to have it done.
  7. Like the thread about people wanting chat bubbles added to the game. Wow don't go in there and say you don't like chat bubbles. People take it personally.
  8. However a Legacy Access Storage option might be better. Although mail is easier to get to (when out in the field) than cargo hold. So either would be nice. /signed
  9. Agreed. Personally I think Chat Bubbles are annoying, but as long as the option to turn them off is included I have no problems. NO to Chat Bubbles!
  10. /signed I would love for her to come back after my Inquisitor in an attempt to get revenge, only to be defeated once again. Then give me the option of killing her for good or taking her as an apprentice.
  11. Sure seems that way. Latest announcement from BioEA is player housing and guild flagship. Something requested damn near day one, and talked about per-launch as "something we are working on". While it is nice to see this option coming to the game, I suspect it will be tailored to the Cartel Market for buying "Premium Content" for your home. As for the topic of "Same gender romance". Simply put. If given the option for curly fries or regular fries you choose the one you like. If you do not like curly fries - don't pick curly fries. If given the option for ****/bi sexual content or heterosexual content you choose the one you like. If you do not like ****/bi-sexual content - don't pick ****/bi-sexual content. It's a game.
  12. Sith Warrior seems to be the only one they put that kind of effort into. I will agree that this one class has some cause-effect style story. What about the others?
  13. This would be an ideal reason to have the option of a secondary spec line. Most other MMO's have this option. So what is taking TOR Devs so long to figure this out. It's not difficult to implement (based on how easy it is to respec). My primary is a Sorcerer Healer, so for me it's not a big deal as I have some DPS options. So I queue for Healer/DPS. The ability to flip a switch and now be a Sorcerer DPS full spec would be nice though.
  14. I would love to see this as a feature. In fact I would love to be able to fill out an entire party with companions. That way I would have a reason to use all of them for more than running missions to get stuff for crafting. Also I would not have to wait in Group Finder for 45min - 1hr to get a group for a flashpoint I want to run, where I can watch and enjoy the cut scenes with out the bi***ing from others in a rush to complete the mission. Story missions could and should be updated, no argument there. There are so few options for raising approval with your companions, spamming the SM version of The Esseles/The Black Talon (most chances for social/conversation points from what I have seen) gets old fast. Perhaps that was the intent of BioEA. Perhaps that is why the Cartel Packs include higher end companion gifts. At any rate, I think it would be great, but I don't see it happening... ever. I don't get the "Second" part of your post so no comment on that.
  15. /signed truth be told I am not happy with the current "stories" offered in this game, but they are acceptable. Reading that announcement I fear the developers have tossed all hope out of creating anything unique and special for this game. Instead they are focusing on Cartel Market, PVP, and rehashed Flashpoints (Hard Mode, Nightmare Mode). Star Wars: The Old Republic was promised to stand out among all other MMORPGs, and it has failed. TOR is nothing more than a cookie cutter MMO with a sprinkle of Role Play (Class Missions). Luke Skywalkers story did not end after the defeat of the Emperor. Han Solo's adventures did not end after blowing up the shield generator on Endor. Why then would our characters story end after just four chapters? Because the developers don't want to work that hard? Perhaps. Not enough money? Not likely. Not enough support from parent company? Now that does seem possible. EA hasn't supported a quality RPG let alone a MMO. Stories in SW:TOR could have been EPIC beyond measure, but were only so-so in reality. The path one takes through the story line leads to the same result no matter what options are selected. With a few very minor changes (choosing Zash over Kem Val as a Sorcerer) that amount to less than nothing in the grand scheme. I have said since Beta that a characters choices should have a dramatic impact on that characters Story. Killing vs not killing a story NPC; by not killing you end up creating a new ally or perhaps that enemy attempts to attack you again later as a secondary side mission. Simply put, the current LINEAR STORY is dull and does not warrant a second playthrough of any class (Sorcerer then Assassin for example). Motivation for creating a second of any class is presented only by the inability to change class once you select an advanced class. But that's another topic. #disappointment
  16. It would not require heavy armor to be edited at all. This would only have an effect on the modular armor. Adaptive armor just means it adds the armor value of whatever armor the wearing character is proficient with (or the highest level available). The adaptive armors are nice, but I don't think spending real cash on a random pack for a chance to get an adaptive armor set that looks the way I like. Good for business, as it squeezes as much money out of the player base as it can. Bad for players as it cost money and is over priced. The cost for a random pack vs what comes in the pack is unbalanced. Oh and BTW I don't want this game to be a f2p mmo so if something disrupts the f2p model I support it. You want f2p go play GW2. That is just my opinion, and I don't care if anyone shares it or not.
  17. I cannot find mention of this so thought I would it in. The weapon and armor lockouts are a real waste. There is really no reason to prevent the use of any weapon to any class. This style of class is VERY old school. While still in common use in new MMO's I don't see why this cannot be an option. Now I know there will come the arguments of balance this, and blah blah blah. I get that so while armor unlocks should apply to anyone. Weapon unlocks would be centered around the class as a core. Melee classes can only use melee weapons. Range classes can only unlock range weapons. Any BH our there think it would be nice to use a rifle, or an assault cannon? What about the scatter gun.... what class even uses that.... Agent? Now I have not thought about every angle of this option so I am open to thoughts. Not those that are based on "that wont work because of blah blah blah you dumb*****. Real comments like the post rules say. Armor restrictions do not make since. No reason (other than balance) why one could not wear heavy armor in any class. Balance is a weak argument at best, as the balance in this game is iffy already. Story wise there have been several examples of characters using heavy armor used even though in the game they are restricted to light/medium armor. No real good reason why my Sorcerer cannot use a double bladed lightsaber. Considering an Assassin can use a single blade or double blade. A Sniper can use blaster rifles and sniper rifles, so why can't a Operative. Story does not change based on what advanced class you take so why not. Animations should not differ all that much, and skills available do not have to change.
  18. Would also like Kel Dor!!
  19. LOL Me either. : <- (effect of holding breath)
  20. New Races should be free for Subscribers. At the very least free for CE holders. EA needs to back off with the "nickel and dime our customers" plan.
  21. Agreed. Also since there are only 3 hairstyles the colors should be included. Charging for both is pushing it. Charging cartel coins for cosmetic changes to a character is bad as well, not like there were tons of options available to start with.
  22. Pay attention Bioware. You have been weighed and measured and you have been found wanting. Your pathetic attempts to impress and promote what is "so great about SWTOR" is falling on deaf ears. Your using the Cartel Market to make up for losses, when it should be an extension of current gains. I am one among many that has tried to support you in this effort. Those die hard fans of Star Wars that just want to claim a small part of the Star Wars Universe for ourselves. You are making it hard to be a believer in your efforts to offer a game worth playing. Were this any other game it would likely have been scraped. But the Star Wars name and the undisclosed amount of money Bioware paid to make this game kept it alive. Pull this kind of game play/game content out for a Mass Effect MMO or a Dragon Age MMO and it will be luck to see it's first year. By game update 2.0 you had better stop listening to EA money monger and start listening to the player base or you may find yourself expanding your employment criteria. Bioware your first expansion (if you make it that far with this game) should be a complete space add-on. Complete with Guild Capital Ships, OPEN FREE FLIGHT COMBAT MISSIONS, some new races (at least 2 for each side), some REAL story content, and some ******n cause and affect. Anyone play the game Freelancer? It was and still is an excellent game for space combat (story was so-so). I personally would be happy with the same type of space combat brought into SWTOR. While I admit SWG had to be my favorite space combat simulation, what they did with Freelancer is really good. Smugglers could really smuggle, bounty hunters setting up ambushes along trade routes. Patrols guarding refuel and docking stations. The interface is 90% mouse driven (a lot like the space missions in SWTOR except its free flight). Get it together Devs this game is falling apart.
