  1. The reflect Pre oceanic launch there is not argument except by the people that are trying to make it an argument. It is in black and white. and yes the SEC job is to protect investors from corporate greed and fraud.
  2. linked previously in this thread but here is another one: http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ERTS/1691146240x0x551496/6162f638-c8c9-45f2-ab77-463e59f00455/ERTS_Wedbush.pdf Page 14 • Most successful subscription MMO launched • Recently launched in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore • End of February • More than 1.7M active subscribers
  3. I see the mercs are on the clock. Any way, if the CEO is lying about the sub numbers that he gave then expect him and EA to be fined for lying in official SEC communications as well as to investors.
  4. Some are "mercenaries" that come on this board and spread miss information in carefully coordinated attacks. I've seen it on every MMO launch that I have followed (DCOU and STO). Same messages are spread, same propaganda about other games is distributed. I feel like a tinfoil hat type but I have seen it too much for it not to be true. Some are people that have nothing better to do in between raid days than to bash the games that they see taking away there raid runners. SWTOR happens to be the biggest threat right now. As soon as GW2 comes online I am sure they will redirect there focus on that game. A good majority have legit issues that they want to see fixed but are either hijacked by the above 2 groups or are only able to communicated in a way that seems like attacking the game.
  5. Found the source for the new sub number: "Star Wars, this is an area that I think has got a lot of people anxious. I've heard from investors today saying that we must have 800,000 subscribers. I heard 600,000 yesterday. So what I think a lot of people have misunderstood is we said we had 1.7 million subscribers on the last call, which was about a month ago. What that was about was the fact that only about – just about half that number had triggered through their 30-day point and become active subscribers, our definition of recurring subscribers. We had about half that total still in the 30-day trial period, but they're subscribers because that first month is including with a package good. What I said a month ago was, just over half. I can now confirm for you today that the vast majority of the 1.7 is now triggered through that point and they're recurring subscribers. What happens from here? So we didn't go backwards like a lot of folks thought we had. Michael pointed out that would have been mathematically impossible to me in a side-bar conversation. He was, in fact, right in his analysis, but it doesn't seem that most people had figured that out. Thank you, Michael, for the vote of confidence." http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ERTS/1691146240x0x551670/86a5c9a0-1ee8-480f-887b-04bf50c8d268/ERTS_Wedbush_03082012_Transcript.pdf
  6. the numbers given were for the end of February. They did not include the Oceanic launch. EA has confirmed that BioWare's first MMO is almost at 2 million users Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has told investors that BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is up to nearly 1.7 million monthly subscribers as of the end of February. A "vast majority" of players have passed beyond the free month of playtime that comes with the game and are in full-on paid subscription mode. Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz is estimating 2 million monthly subscribers by the end of June 2012. "We continue to feel comfortable with our Star Wars estimates which are an important part of our street-high FY13 non-GAAP EPS estimate of $1.36. We estimate 2MM paying subs by the end of June 2012 (and then sustained for the remainder of the year). We also note that the company plans to launch Star Wars in the Asia-Pacific region later this month," Creutz said in a statement. Overall, the success of SWTOR has Cowen and Company rating EA shares to Outperform
  7. Question: Can Legacy be account wide (i have rolled my sith and Republic toons on different servers so that I can create alts for each advance class)?
  8. Well I don't have an issue. I guess some do. And that is with setting maxed. I wonder if people are blaming FPS when it is in reality a combination of factors. Sure the game could be to blame but it is not the only reason. The devs have said the client and game are not optimized. But that is not the only reason.
  9. Why not, looks fine to me. Thats with things maxed out. Turn off shadows and I player around 30 to 40 in warzones.
  10. But why is my 6 year old system on low budget DSL not having these issues? If a coding issue, why no issue for me. Maybe I am one of those rare people that can play with no issues with 10 to 15 FPS in a warzone. I guess I just don't notice the shuttering at all.
  11. No issues playing what so ever. Play warzones all the time. no issues at all. level 30 trooper level 21 Valor
  12. Other than my Video card and 4 gigs of ram my system is around 6 years old. AMD FX 62 5 gigs of ram (removed on that was bad, causing CTD in game) Geforce 560 2gigs of ram 2 80 gig 7200 RPM SATA II hard drives in a raid 0 config Windows Vista Latest Nvidia Beta Drivers Only FPS issues I ever have are inside of the imperial fleet when there are over 200 players in there. Warzones run around 15 to 20 but I don't notice any issues planets run about 35 to 40 cutsceens will spike to around 100 at times. Running in Fullscreen (windowed) 1280x720 resolution All setting set to high including Shadows Grass and Tress sliders at full as well. With my system specs you can see why I have a tough time believe all the FPS issues in game is just the game alone.
  13. Can't find auto stacking but I thought it was in one of the early patch notes but the confirmation window just went in this week 1.1.3: A confirmation dialog is now displayed when purchasing items with commendations or tokens and when purchasing expensive items.
  14. Sure but if done in steps, each floor at a time, it could be done and improved on while the building was still in operation, spreading the time of the project over several months. If having to replace it all is the only way to fix it. You don't have to remove all the plumbing to repair a leak on the fifth floor. Again I am having a tough time understanding why TOR's engine is so different that we are stuck with the engine, with out improvements, till end of life for the game.
  15. No just looking for a real answer, not some canned troll response.
  16. so no reason what so ever. got it. Next person.
  17. So, just making sure but it is impossible for them to improve the hero engine over time and add better support for multicore processors, 64 bit client, higher rez textures. This is impossible as software can never be improved. Help me understand how they can't fix the issues and that no changes can be made to the engine, ever. Not to bring up that game but wow's engine has went through several overhauls over its life span. The engine that was at launch and that is live now are completely different and changes made to allow higher rez textures, multi core support and etc. Please help me understand how it is different with TOR's engine.
  18. sure you saved the village twice, but now you can kill the chief and take his head to the hutt instead of the head of the kid you killed outside the door.
  19. that's quite a list of options, design decisions, things removed based on player feedback, and things that would make this game SWG2. But I would not be surprised that half the things on your list make it in game at some point. Good for you Bioware is listening.
  20. design decisions. The launched a game that had enough features to get people toons from 1 to 50 and to do it with some good options mixed in. A MMO launch should be about getting the content out and playable. Qol stuff that are not game breaking should be implemented threw out the life of the game. I would rather the team spend time on content and game mechanics during development than worrie about things that are only need after game is launched with a healthy community. UI scaling could be debated that it should have been in game at launch but full blow customization is a QoL item that can wait.
  21. I think he may have been reacting to the username realID which was a WOW thing
  22. and those games add them AFTER launch.
  23. every single MMO is a paid beta by your standards.
  24. That would be more sandbox stuff but what I could see implemented is suites on our guild ships. Allowing us to decorated them with trophies and art. A little place to call home.
