  1. Exactly my thoughts if the current situation doesn't change soon.
  2. Every PVP'er that is currently playing has been waiting for some news about the future of SWTOR PVP and where it may lead too. The current Feb 3rd update has shed very little light on what may come. As it stands right now, the only thing that is coming is a new Quest huttball map in 3 weeks time. We have been burned but Bioware for PVP updates. Lies were told, misinformation has been given out and promises were not kept on time. The Arena meta is constantly changing. Ranked 4's are very much a deviation from 8's in terms of strategy and application. PVP updates are too far and infrequent (class balances being a major one). I enjoy Arena play (many don't, more have just fizzled out). MY TEAM ALONE on POT5 has been keeping Republic Ranked 4's alive on prime time hours! Countless IMP teams want to play us, to take our rating that has been on a steady incline for the past 3 weeks. Older players are coming back to create teams just to play us (we talk a lot of crass!). BUT FOR WHAT! Not even in this announcement has there been any mention of what PVP rewards we shall be seeing! I feel like PVP in this game is one of the better aspects of this game. I performs extremely well on a small scale (I love the feeling of it, it just plays well in my hands), but at times the competitive PVP scene feels like a tumble weed blowing in a vast, dry, dessert. We never have Dev posts here, there is no team reaching out to players to discuss what changes are needed. The class reps (while were semi informative) were still a huge joke. Why are we only allowed to ask 1 PVP question? Why can't we make a list from competitive current players on the current situation of PVP? 2.6 is going to change the meta slightly again. Gone are the AOE DPS/TANK machines the Power Techs once were. Whats going to happen tomorrow is anybodies guess! I need more from this game in it's current form because it is fun as hell and there is a lot of potential (especially with huttball!) that can be achieved PVP wise in this game. Seems like all development is heading towards PVE and GSF. It's 2014 and we have only scratched Season 1, and 2 new warzones. (pretty sad). TL;DR - New updates reveals little of future PVP development for the long term - Burn by Bioware before - Arena meta is always changing and nothing like 8's - Me blowing my own horn about keeping Arena alive on POT5 Republic side - PVP one of the better aspects of this game - No Dev communication in PVP forums - 2.6 is going to be a semi can of worms of PVP - We want MORE! So give it to us! Please! ALSO PLEASE FIX PEOPLE EXPLOITING RANKED MATCHES BY TELEPORTING TO THE TOP OF THE MAP THANK YOU!
  3. This is for 4's ranked. Not too sure about solo. Lots of players here are playing FULL tank/almost full tank jug's. Tank tunnel has become the norm as of this week and last, half breed PT's are blowing up like crazy. Also some group are running 3 PT unbalanced mayhem while another team ran a double heals comp, but seemed to have stoppped. Que times are 7-8PM CST and go until about 11-12PM CST. 5-7 solid teams queing a night. Decent fun.
  4. Combat Sentinel. That will get your motor oil going for keybinds.
  5. Specifics on the rewards need to be addressed, or it will almost be like wasting time... wait... what the heck am I doing right now. Anyways I loved competitive ranked 4's PVP, it's fast, fun, and exciting for the whole family! Get a team together today/voice comms/synergy and try it out! Defiantly made me a better PVP'er. That way you can stay with the ever changing meta on a weekly basis!

  7. I never noticed the lag until we had few ranked matches that happened on both side of the bridge, not the bridge itself, but the upper level the bridge connects too. Both time that we have fought there has caused massive lag for some of my players, and a little bit for me. Seems like where the bridge connects on either side is when the frames being to drop. Check it out!
  8. I wouldn't say that. I can honestly say that Arena play has upgraded my play. It's faster, more dynamic, and quick thinking. I like Arena play. But no support or Dev posts in the PVP forums is just sad.
  9. That's the thing though, It's rare to get a good night of teams queing. We qued up lastnight and we played Infinite Darkness 8 times in a row and went even games with them, that was fun as hell. But that was it. There also seems to be a problem with the matchmaking. High elo teams are constantly being paired against low elo teams in consecutive order. There seems to be a lot of refining that needs to be done with the Elo system and pairing. As it stands now, we just need more to expand upon in the ground game of PVP. We waited for a year and half for Season One. And all they did was implement it w/ a decent web based leaderboard (which also needs a few tweaks/features, nothing major but could use more work) We need some PVP class balance here! The Meta cannot be just Operative/Scoundrel healers being viable! I feel sorry for this poor healing sorcs because they get absolutely torn apart once their bubble is gone! Hybrid Classes are way too strong! Beatable but are clearly at an advantage in lower skilled play! Please let us complete our Daily/Weekly through ranked! This would slightly increase the want to do ranked! Maybe develop a system to reward players who did the best that week. Would garner more people to get on if rewards were on a weekly basis. Cross-server ques.
  10. Name: Raizur Class: Sentinel Server: POT5 Guild: Backpacks Ever since the announcement of Ranked Arena's coming to The Old Republic I was excited. For me Arena game play is fast paced, cut throat, and 1 mistake can mean getting globaled (a term used when someone goes poof!). I feel that structured arena play makes you play your class at least 5 times better. I'm serious, the coordination is not rocket science, but to pull it off beautifully is an art. But ranked 4's arena play is dying across all servers. It was a big hit when it was first released to us for about 2 weeks. You could face at least 10 different teams at the time, it was great. And while we got beat by a couple dominating teams over and over again, my group on the Republic has stuck through it. We never quit because of rating, or because we thought our skill was lower. Getting better was what we were striving for day in and day out, trying to find the right synergy with Republic members was hard since I transferred from Bastion (formerly Stryke/Azeal of Don't Panic). Republic on this server always seemed to struggle against the lop sided 63% Imperials. It was EXTREMELY rare that we ever face another Republic team 2 weeks out of the gate for ranked 4's. And as time went on a couple Imperial groups started to take the lead by a large margin. This led to Elo hell for most groups. Ton's of Imperials groups quit, because another couple groups were pounding them into the ground. Elo rating and huge ego' were being smashed. And for the past 2 weeks que's have been getting longer, and longer and... you guessed it LONGER. Ranked Arena's will suffer the fate of RWZ's very soon. Our team continually tries to que almost every night we can around 8PM CST. But there is no one to play anymore. It makes me sad because I really liked this game. But PVP has been pooped on by Bioware for far too long. - We need balance changes in quicker succession - More huttball maps - A huttball league of it's own - Spectating - Get rid of bolster for ranked and have a gear check - Return of the unnecessary removal of 8v8's - Some damn love over here! PVP'ers are being neglected! TL;DR - Ranked is dying once again. Not quick enough balance changes, being neglected and pooped on.
  11. Love Cathar.. wish I didn't buy with in-game credits already if I knew it was going to be free.
  12. CC in this game isn't hard to realize what is and what isn't. Why am I posting. Oh right, I know why. Dat sig
  13. I would love to be able to sit in my starship in whatever planet/fleet I am currently parked at and be able to partake in their general chat as well! I would rather sit in my ship, than on fleet to chat in General Chat.
  14. The message is clear. But god damn was this recorded with a potato.
  15. I'll take my Zen, Leap, Precision Slash, BladeRush, Masterstrike root, Blade Storm (HOPES TO GOD OPPORTUNE ATTACK PROCS ) any day over the lumbering spec that is smash monkey. Literally the most boring spec to play and you can read them like a book if you aren't being focused. The thing with smash, coupled with the PowerTech's/Vanguards AOE slow ability is devastating. We still need time in arena for play styles to evolve and counter each other. Smash is OP if only you don't know how to defend against it properly (and sometimes you just can't), root/snare the **** out of them. Yes their Zealous leap will break CC, but just snare them again and stay within 5-9m of them. Watch them walk towards you. But what do I know. I play a Sentinel.

    PvP Videos!!!

http://www.twitch.tv/stalzy Server: Pot5 Raizur - 55 Sentinel Combat PVP Starts usually around 8PM CST (when my child goes to bed, ha!). I try to interact with the chat as much as possible inbetween SoloQ and Wz's. Doing a Game giveaway tonight (did one on Wednesday) that involves games such as Deadspace 3, Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor etc. (Activated through steam or origin). Will be streaming in about 2 hours as of this post! Come check it out and have some fun.
  17. I'm currently a combat Sentinel I leap to you, hit my precision slash (off GDC ability) which I usually follow up with a Master strike and blade storm, your relic procs during my leap/or precision slash, "Well F me, I cannot attack you and you've effectively shut down my burst without using a single skill". I think, "Shizzz thats alright, I'll go beat on this guy after I've used Zealous strike to build up some focus - time to spam blade rush and dump all that focus". Well that's relic procs now too. Well don't I look like an idiot not being able to attack anyone for anywhere between 5-10 seconds and you and your team mate never had to do a single thing! Ya.. it's not a big deal. BTW, it doesn't work with BOTH conq relics, it's the Obroan
  18. Exactly what this guy says. Since Focus usually generates you 100% force sweep crits every 20 seconds, pumping power would be a good idea to get max dmg. I use Strenght augments on my Combat Sentinel due to many abilities not have garunteed crit proc dmg. Therefore I believe it to be more beneficial for that spec of play.
  19. It's been god damn pre-season for over a year! I came back, excited for arena play, finally some balancing and Bioware taking a good look at PVP. But then all this is being brought up again, exploits out the arse. Gameplay mechanics STILL not fixed!!! I'm losing patience here
  20. Effort? You mean stacking double absorb relics, GG. You cannot step into an arena now without players double stacking the relic bug. It's messed up and I know they will fix it, but this is the type of bug that kills interest in PVP, especially right off the bat. How does this pass internal and external testing and go right to live? This bug is game breaking in Arean's. Invul every 28 seconds. Give me a break.
  21. Here is a great Combat Sentinel Spec. Depending on your gear and whatnot, you can put more or less into ACC in trade off for longer leap immobilization. Or if you want, you could swap out Defensive forms for Inflammation depending on what you want to do! http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501uRrRRrrdGzZMZbc.2 Provides great single target burst, controlling one's movement's, and fastness. Combat is the way to go for Ranked PVP.
