  1. this, but surely no one believes any of the BW/EA lies anymore, if at some point in the future something the player base wants makes it into the game please dont kid yourself that it had anything to so with the player base wanting it.
  2. I dont know about more science fiction (sic-fi) but I would like to see more Star Wars content. Why is it that the whole galaxy is devoid of life and movement save for the odd NPC wandering along the same path every day? I see walkers and ships grounded and not once do I see them move. The game seriously needs to be brought to life. I dont mind the ancient race or forgotten race so much but it would be nice to have the war actually, you know, be a war.
  3. Seems like there is still almost no fact about Makeb, other than its coming in the spring, will raise cap to 55 and most likely not include class story arc content, right? Im curious about the level cap and gearing. Entry to the 'next' planet for the planetary story arc is usually level based and green/blue gearing. So level 50 to 51 on Makeb, if it follows the established route would be doable in green and blue 50's, except everyone is in gear way way higher than that! I am not sure they can (not that they won't) raise the entry gear bar to some high percentile of current end game gear, in other words say you would need Campaign gear. Which would then become obsolete in the levelling process from 51 to 55. Or will they leave the gearing alone with maybe some minor tweaks by maybe allowing some new higher end mods? My fearful suspicion is they introduce a new stat and Makeb content revolves around the new stat, as we have seen in some other games, LoTRO for example. So level 50 to 51 would be do able in your level 50 green/blue and a breeze in your fuly augmented Dread Guard, but by the end of 51 you would have found gear with the new stat and level 52 will be very hard without, level 53 impossible. New FP's or OP's in HM would need the new stat. LoTRo got rid of it after a few years, but it does have the cheap hack idea to it and it would make Makeb need new gear/mods without the result then being over powered against old content. Have not seen much on Makeb, there isn't much. Anyone got any thoughts? I've just really come back to the game after being away since mid 2012 and gearing up is what Im loking at now, hence thinking about how Makeb might impact that.

I dont see how this f2p model is supposed to entice players back, any ex-player who is looking to return but has been put off by the sub is not going to come back to this highly restricted and limited sub set of the game, are they? http://www.swtor.com/free/features is about as vague and un-informative as BW get, do we assume that the full set of f2p restrictions are to apply to returning players too or only to new sign ups? Lotro had an additional f2p option where existing players returning did not lose anything, sure they didnt get a full set of character slots but they didn't get ONE only, they could use any items they had, yes they were locked out of some content without the appropriate purchase but it allowed anyone to come back, get back into the game and either buy access or resub. It worked. I cant see how this is going to work at all. At best its a free trial of the 1-50 levelling experience, after that its sub or quit, you have no where near enough access to the game in f2p to have any sort of enjoyable game play experience IMHO. And isn't that the point? to create a free access path that will let people experience the game and want to buy access or a sub? so why create a path with so many gates over some pretty petty things too? the 1 to 50 experience is pretty good, generally accepted to be the games strength, its got almost nothing to do with the level 50 experience at all, many many times people have remarked that they are two games grafted onto each other. Sorry BW, but I don't think you have grasped the point of this at all.
  6. amazing to me that the art is still such crap and every new outfit/armor released is worse tan the last and hardly anyone thinks its even acceptable let alone Star Wars like. At launch I, like many others, assumed things would improve I would like to know why they have not?
  7. there is no space project, I would expect there to be some more missions and maybe some expansion of the current on rails mini game, but it wont be much. They clearly don't have the development effort to spend on anything much and have stated time and time again that the biggest thing they have been working on is Legacy. Given that is true and the laughable state of legacy, the constant delays and removal of content I cant see how they could deliver a space game that wont be just an extension of the current rails shooter.
  8. I think there are some useful things that could be done but any of them would make war zones pops slower. 1. Dont match me with folks on my ignore list 2. Create a few more brackets and adjust the rewards accordingly, lvl50 BM only bracket and recruit bracket for example, thse would be by choice and once queued gear would be locked, so even a war hero can queue for recruit so long as they wear recruit. 3. quitters lose comms, say 70 for 1st quit, and the rising by 10 every time, reset daily (with daily quests) - dont like this as you cant do it to any quiiter only those who choose to quit rather than get dc'ed but its easy to dc yourself 4. RATE everyone in every war zone, same basic principles as ranked war zones but this is ONLY for team matching then match based on this rating (unless playing ranked war zones then use that rating instead) I think he current team builder is simply a random picker based on you being in the queue, its takes nothing else into account at all people want to play war zones against similar geared and skilled players but have the choice to pay up at a higher level too, right now the match making is just too dumb which leads to people quitting when a loss is inevitable and its no fun as the 'team' is anything but or you arriving to find 3 guys in green lvl49 crap with not even a single item of recruit gear
  9. another why the hell isn't this simple problem simply fixed thread. Come on BW there are plenty of ways to make this easier for everyone and require very little effort on your part. 1, Add keybinds for 'Incoming right/left/grass/snow/mid/east/west/south' - you get the idea 2. Make the node have a left click action to call incoming to that node 3. Show a 'node under attack' whenever opposing faction is in combat at a capped node 4. Add a pause button to allow the numb of fingers to type out an 'incoming' message into the right channel Im sure 2 hours brainstorming would produce any number of perfectly viable simple solutions
  10. amazing to me that this debate is still raging and BW are oblivious to the lunacy of their system. They HAVE created a system that, despite pointless costs and some ill poor design choices, allows you to modify gear extensively. The initial itemisation is off in quite a few places but the basic mechanics of the gear STAT system are good. However, as a system to allow for diversity in the way people look its next to useless, useless being the system they started with. Every other game has better appearance systems and I'm sorry but arguments against a proper appearance system are just ridiculous. This game is full of half designed systems that were never fully integrated, slowly but steadily its coming together and if it keeps going it will be something to be really happy with, but trying to beat the GOOD FOR STATS gear system into a GOOD FOR APPEARANCE gear system is just a waste of time, for the love of your own developers sanity add the appearance tab, develop the complexity and depth of the STAT system and everyone can be happy.

As there was no whole picture view of the transfer process upfront, I and others have transferred as transfers became available, now it looks increasingly like The Red Eclipse is going to tbe the only EU PVE destination and I now have no free slots. My higher levels have not been allowed to transfer from their server yet, if they can today and its to The Red Eclipse then either I delete characters to make room (if I had known I would not have transferred them) or I dont transfer my high levels toons. FFS BW can you get nothing right? This was your last chance and everyone was over the moon you finally (3 months too late) got around to transfers, but you have not thought it through have you, the cap of destination servers needs to be much bigger, logically it needs to be 8 times the number of orgin servers transferring in or do you expect people to HAVE TO DELETE TOONS!

  13. dumb requirement is dumb, lots of people will have a server full of 1 faction as at launch there was no cross faction mail etc only neutral GTN on Nar Shaddaa, which was dead. I think having a quest that requires some cross faction work to get HK is fair enough, its an MMO, why not, you know, make it so you can do it with another PLAYER! #ffs #fail
  14. it is great news but I think BW would agree the time for action was BEFORE the servers became ghost towns and they lost 100's of 1000's of subs, not after. Lets be thankful its coming and get back to there not being a population issue
  15. Cathar will be unlocked by having 4 republic classes and 4 imperial classes at max legacy bonus, there will be no new character slot
  16. wouldn't expect to see any level cap rise till later this year, guessing around Nov/Dec. Given you need BM to trade for WH why do you think you will get any new PvP gear if you haven't got the WH to trade? (I hate this concept but its what we have so far, bad idea imo) until BW hire PR with the ability to speak intelligently about facts that they are willing to be held to its all just speculation for fun anyway
  17. what makes you think the cost of entry to the new op or fp or war zone wont be the current end game sets? you'll need all the current crap to get into the new crap, or you'll need it to stand a chance against the level 51 mob on makeb in order to level up - whole thing sounds like a good idea but it isn't, that said we have a headline and nothing else to go on so speculate it will be like the other game you like or the other game you dont, we simply do not know and with BW's track record I am confident neither do they

  20. great, thanks for the introduction, now if you could be so good as to go and find out answers to the burning issues the playing and paying community are faced with and get some positive and definitive information posted, no one has any time left for vague, ambiguous, contradictory or downright incorrect stories about how something is being worked on and there may be more news soon.
  21. OMG! perhaps BW could get its communication team together and fire the *********** lot of them, this represents the third different story in as many weeks. Does anyone in BW have a definitive line on ranked warzones and how it relates to the 1.3 timetable. Its gone past the point where any pvp'er actually cares much any more but it would be good to see that BW can actually manage a simple clear accurate communication that ALL BW staff can echo and that actually addresses the questions and concerns of the paying community, lest those left stop paying from sheer frustration
  22. simply change the loot mechanic, right now its some half assed attempt at a 19th century mechanism that everyone says is not working very well in anything other than 'perfect' groups, the horse is dead, stop beating it, get a new horse. In any group there are different classes maybe more than 1 of each maybe none of certain classes. All loot (assume all for sake of this) is linked to some mob (boss x drops columini gloves, though it matters not) In stead of allowing anyone to roll anything on need/greed/pass have a group leader option to set better rules. Class item can only be rolled need by that class, for me, if there are 3 operatives drop 3 items for them. Simply put this needs some simple and sensible design, people want to run FP's and OP's for fun and loot, ninja's should be held back by game mechanics but create rule sets that everyone can agree with up front when they join the group. A little smart design and use of BoE/BoP etc can resolve almost all of this.
  23. Can you clarify in detail the working of the ranked and non ranked PVP, in particular the latest info that says ranked will be for 8man premades ONLY. The PvP community has remained patient waiting for this and we really need some concrete information now
  24. at this point who cares about 1.3 its got nothing in it. Transfers, Ranked PvP, LFG, then pointless legacy if you must. No one is going to be here for 1.3 at this rate
