I agree with ya , if someone wants to trade real money for monopoly money, more power to the fools. Their money, their free to do with it as they wish. How does the Envy aspect work though ? Since it doesn't matter how much real money anyone has , as all can be bought with monopoly money, and monolpoly money is easily accrued and completly worthless and etheral, how does one envy worthless and fake unless one is completly delusional ?

I do believe the time frame set for SWG was between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and while my memory is a bit hazy and it was almost 10 years ago the items you mentioned where introduced with either the Rage of the Wookies exp. or Mustafar Exp.

From what i've read EA bought Bioware 1 year AFTER Bioware signed the contract with LA to produce this game. At that time no publisher for the game had been determined and EA had not invested 1 penny into development costs. So i don't believe that would have any bearing on length of contract.

Nothing spent so far and considering i have yet to spend any my sub gets me i doubt i'll need to. Sitting on about 6k.

How safe is SWTOR from Disney ? Thats a tough question. Currently i believe SWTOR is but a blip on their radar when viewing the LA property. Depending on future events this blip may turn into a blob. I think many can agree that Disney prides itself on being a family friendly organization and will go to GREAT lengths to protect that reputation. I also believe that Disney will go to those same lenghts to protect what it considers its property. According to George Lucas it was that protectiveness that made him choose Disney for the sale, i'm sure 4.6 billion dollars didn't hurt much either. With that in mind lets consider one of the upcomming features in SWTOR, SGR's. ( That is IF it's still comming, last offical word i read was in Hickman's State of the game #2, has anyone heard from Hickman since ? ) Whether your ok with this addition or against or like me just don't care, take a moment and put yourself in Disney's shoes. 1) Considering the MOVIES and only the MOVIES, there is NO sexuality in Star Wars. Yes there was a budding romance between a man and a woman ( Han and Leia ) in the first trilogy. There was the romance between Anakin and padme in the second ( although that was just a vehicle for the fall of Anakin and birth of Luke and Leia or the worst written love story ever, you choose ) Other than those 4 people everyone else is asexual. SEXUALITY is not a Star Wars theme. Again put yourself in Disney's shoes, are you OK with others redefining YOUR property. 2) The backlash over SGR's. We've already witnessed one article about the new planet. Once the planet goes live, there will be more. Count on it. Your Disney, are you OK with having to deal with this, considering it was someone elses decision to implement it in the first place. What place do SGR's have in Star Wars. Thats just one topic, there are others currently in game that question the Starwarsiness of this game and i don't feel like writting a book on the subject and i consider them minor ( although what might be minor to me may mean alot to Disney ) For future reference when asking, How Safe is SWTOR from Disney. Interesting theory. Here's mine; The people who are against this idea view the game begining when their character is fully logged in. They may participate in raids and warzones but that not the whole game, just part of it. People who are for this idea are typically refered to as "endgammers", leveling is a vehicle to get to where the game "really" begins. My theory anyway.

I disagree, there is P2W in this game its just not overtly obivious. I can buy BIS gear on the GTN-----That costs credits I can buy high value merchandise of the Cartel Market with RL cash. I then sell merchandise on the GTN for credits, i'm not earning credits by playing the game, i'm just exchanging one form of currency for another-----I now buy BIS gear. i take back all the times i referred to the developement team as brain dead, the're brilliant. they allowed us to do it to ourselves.

Op, have you checked out The Repopulation. I'm very excited about this up and commer. No i have no expectations of it being a "WoW killer" . I doubt it will generate the number of players currently playing SWToR, but i'm not looking for the next big thing, just something i will enjoy. If interested check out their site. On another note, its ok that SWToR be SWToR, its not a bad game just not my cup of tea and thats ok too.

With that in mind one could make the resonable assumption that "Lazy people lack the desire to work or put forth effort". But the reverse is not necessarlly true. One could "lack the desire to do something" and it could have nothing to do with Laziness. they could simply not be interested in said act. The term "lack of desire" is subjective where as Lazy is much easier to define. Again my bad for the attempt at levity. Looking at this from a serious point of view, Its currently not in game and people who want it will just have to deal with it, and if its ever implemented the people who are against it with have to deal with that. And thats something i think thats interesting about thing currently going on in the game. When i log on and head to a starter planet, its not unusual to see 180 on Cor ( i only play Rep ) an say 2 instances of taris with 80 or so on both and talking to people in general its new folks checking out the different playstyles of the characters, why the numbers drop off on later worlds i don't know, but people are testing the waters and trying to learn. Thats what i would want to see. Wanting to learn shows interest, the more intrest someone has the longer they'll stay. As i said in another post, i'm ok with forgiving a mistake or 2 but at some point i feel ya gotta draw a line in the sand and say no your out of free passes. As for the Cartel Market, thats supposed to be for cosmetic and fluff items, if Joe truely made a mistake and wants to change AC's i don't think its right to charge him for a fix. I am neither an eltist gamer or that horrible a human being, although there are plenty of RL people who would diagree with the latter.

Read my post above the one you quoted, where i state i have no problem with a one time per character switch, even though its something i would never use. Oh and since your only concern is how "Joe the Noob" is feeling lets let Joe ( you don't mind if i just call him Joe, do you ? ) buy End game crystals from the CM, its what Joe wants and it will keep him happy while providing more money for EA, so they'll re-invest into their own business which is what a "good " company does anyway. Endgame gear, Joe wants it , Joe wants it on the Market NOW. Lets not disappoint Joe. Joe might have a hissy fit and tell his friends. You don't need to come to the forums for information about what role a "Tank" plays, there a whole world of internet out there. Here a freebe JOE, google tank in MMORPG, Google DPS in MMORPG and if thats too hard have the person that turn the computer on for you give it a try.

Seriously, how often i wished the Guild i was in could do something, i don't know, guild like, besides run OP's and flashpoint. Whatever did happen to the days where you logged in to an MMO to live in an ever persistant virtual world ( and not Second life, that Adult island scares me- no i don't want to be fisted, i'm just checking out the art gallery, LOL. ) Well at leat there games on the horizon to look towards.

Only truely limited by the minds behind it. Hindsight being 20/20 a hybred design would have made this the game to end all games (IMO). The budget they had, the time they had to do it in, a fan base salavating at the mouth, the star don't line up like that often.
