  1. EA is not new to the F2P market system by any means , but after several months its very obvious how new to it Bioware is. This is a list of changes that I believe would greatly enhance the experience. 1) Cartel Certification award change - These are a great idea in theory , but very poorly implemented with such a low drop rate. You could make it so that each pack had at least one cert in it , but you would still have people complaining that they have to open X number of packs to purchase a given item. My Idea is a 4 certification system - Armor , Weapons , Vehicles , Novelties. When you receive an item you do not desire you can trade it in at a special vendor in the new cartel area on fleet for a predetermined amount of specific certs that can be accumulated and traded for "more desirable" items within the group type. 2) Lock Boxes - These are a great way to encourage different types of gameplay and offer different rewards. Daily Areas , Flashpoints , Operations , and PvP could each offer unique BoL lock boxes. The keys could be sold on the Cartel Market for 100cc each , pack of 10 for 800cc , 25% chance of a key in small cartel packs , 50% chance in large cartel packs and are tradable. Each lock box could contain a set amount of cartel reputation , a random amount of Cartel Certifications , and a selection of items related in some way to the type of box. (IE you will not find an expertise color crystal in an operation lock box.) 3) Cartel Quests - Nar Shaddaa needs a revamp and the Cartel Market is a perfect vehicle. A series of unlock quests and dailies/weeklies could be put into place in a new area of Nar Shaddaa with all new vendors that offer seasonal items for a combination of cartel coins and credits. This area could also be combined with the Lock Box and/or Cartel Certification idea in various ways. (IE. a subscriber only weekly or monthly quest to attain BoL lockbox keys so they do not feel cheated or overly pressured to purchase additional cartel coins.) 4) Wheel of Desire - Cartel Packs are already a gamble in every sense of the word , you spend X amount of real money (sugar coating it by making people by digital currency doesn't make it any less of a gamble) in the hopes that you don't end up with another piece of junk. The Wheel of Desire could work just like roulette , purchase a bet on the wheel on various tiers with each tier costing more than the last , but only one bet per player per round. Tier 1- Specific Items - the cheapest bet , each item in the current cartel packs can be bet upon - the wheel lands on your item an you win it , simple as that. Tier 2- Grouped Items - Each round the item table is randomized into 6 groups - the wheel lands on your group and you win one of the items at random Tier 3- Category Items - You bet on a category - Armor , Weapons , Vehicles , Novelties (pets/toys/color crystals) - the wheel lands on an item from within your category and you win that item. Tier 4- 50/50 Draw- Armor/Novelties and Weapons/Vehicles are grouped together - wheel lands on your category and you win the prize.
  2. I actually think it should be the other way around , Mods should crit an augmentation slot. They could introduce a new kind of mod augment that has positive and negative modifiers. IE a Might armoring augment could have +10 str -5 End. I have many ideas to fix the crafting game but Bioware doesnt seem to want to focus on fixing all of the professions they have broken since lauch.
  3. Purchasing ranked comms only requires valor rank 40 - and if leveling with PvP this is extreemly easy to obtain. My level 43 alt aready has almost 3k ranked comms and will very likely be fully comm capped when he hits 50. Im going to have to agree tho that they should not allow purchases before 50. With a little effort i could have a full set of WH with a few EWH peices by the time i hit 50 if i was allowed to purchase the gear now. You remove that soft cap and you might as well stop the comm system all together. To expoit the system i would meerly need to create lowbie alts , farm comms , buy gear , place mods into legacy gear , mail to main, rinse repeat. Its just way too easy to get excess comms in lowbie pvp.
  4. This would defeat the purpose of the F2P element , which is EA/Bioware making money off of people who dont like subscriptions for one reason or another.
  5. This is highly unlikely scenario. There will always be new tiers of gear and people will always want them. The idea that people would use a buff to get their WH gear set in 15 matches instead of 20 and then for some reason quit the game is not very well thought out. Someone who wants to gear up and unsub is going to do it regardless of whether there is a comm bonus or not. In fact those players as significantly less likely to purchase the buff since they have already decided they are canceling their accounts.
  6. Tionese is more than adequate for starting out in HMs and early SM ops. The MK-2 recruit gear is already adequate enough to handle them. By offering end game gear , even mid tier like Rakata , you are essentially giving people a reason to play less. Whether you are a subscriber or Free to Play member EA/Bioware do not want to give any more reasons to play any one area of the game less unless there is an equal reason to play more available.
  7. I didn't consolidate my idea because I feel that it stands on its own. Do you consolidate all of your trolls into one thread? Scrolling through your back posts you only appear to actually take part in a discussion in a positive or meaningful way about 25% of the time. If you have an on topic opinion about this line of thought feel free to contribute , otherwise you have said your piece so go troll someone else.
  8. I got 10 molecular stabilizers from a cartel pack I received for free with my monthly allotment and your concerned that grinding WH gear can result in people crafting end game gear. You are aware than a player wearing EWH gear can still perform fairly well in an operation? You have always been able to RE PvP mods and receive some of the core materials that would have gone into crafting said item and that shouldn't change now.
  9. Bioware has stated on numerous occasions that they are new to the F2P model and there will be many revisions based on player feedback. I spent quite some time on the test center and playing the game with two bars legitimately made the later portions of the game feel unplayable. I don't agree that limiting a player to two characters was a bad thing and believe they could have made slot unlocks another micro transaction , but also understand that its very easy to just create another account so that's an up hill battle. Nothing within my proposed idea would come anywhere near negating the need or market for a subscription based component. And if you ready my whole post then you would have seen the part about off setting any potential losses due to the change by offering a tangible bonus in warzones to subscribers and people with weekly passes. As it stands there is a 100% worthless WZ buff in the cartel market , the Valor Buff. Aside from Valor rank 40 which is incredibly easy to obtain its a completely useless system unless you want the titles (which F2P members have to pay to display). Your disagreement seems to stem entirely from your distaste for the fact that the game went F2P and not whether this change would make the F2P model more stable. Like it or not F2P is here to stay , and I have no doubt that F2P members and subscribers alike will continue to pump dollar after dollar into the cartel market.
  10. I do subscribe , this is a greater good idea not a "I want more for free" idea. By opening up the gates on playing PvP matches you decrease the wait time for all players to find matches. By restricting their rewards like the flashpoint system you also insure F2P players cant gear up quickly without paying $ one way or another.
  11. I understand the need to use PvP as another avenue of revenue but I feel that their current model is self defeating. I believe that they should remove the cap on how many warzones a F2P member can play and change it to how many warzones a F2P member can earn commendations, credits , and experience. They could allow valor rank to continue leveling without too much issue since there are no tangible rewards for valor rank except the option to buy a few high priced toys and the ability to purchase ranked warzone comms. To offset the potential loss in revenue from players who are content earning fewer commendations they could also offer a commendation bonus buff in the cartel market much like the valor buff. This reward buff should boost bonus commendations from medals earned up to 10 and grant the bonus up to 12 medals per match. I believe that this simple change could bring some much needed revitalization to PvP.
  12. When will we see end game functionality added to other planets? Specifically the capital planets.
  13. Everyone has at least one thing that screams "this isnt starwarsy enough for me". Now as huge of a SW fan as i am , im also a huge MMO fan and can be extreemly forgiving when it comes to system limitations. Fleet Stations arent just "not starwarsy enough" for me , they legitimatly feel like lazy additions. For a Level 50 player the Fleet is your home away from....i guess its just your home since none of the planets in the game offer up that feeling. If i want to spend all my free time haning around a space station ill go back to STO. Fleet Stations should be removed entriely and "moved" to a new area on the capital planets. These areas should be larger than republic fleet but be more organized than the capital citys found in games like WoW. Also the addition of a PvP waiting room instance and a direct shuttle to Ilum's surface would be nice.
  14. Heres a secret guys , with the proper gear all companions are created equal with the exception of C2-N2. Personlay i use either Kira or Scourge for everything but they are the ones i currently have fully geared to level. Doc/Scourge/T7 = slow and steady but allow to jump from fight to fight and Kira/Rusk = Fast kills but require out of combat healing between heavy fights. The right gear is key... my advice is to pick your favorite humanoid and gear them up with the centurion commendations.
  15. Its entierly possible that a future update will include crafted tradable mounts and pets (also a currently unusable GTN menu) for the cybertech crew skill. These features are probably somewhere in the middle of the item priority stack , while it would make cybertech a more profitable profession the benifits are purely cosmetic.
  16. By now most of you have read the total BS statment made by stephen reid about server queues. They have stated they will open more servers but not increase the server caps. Thier logic about stagering sever releases isnt just flawed its plain stupidity. By offering fewer servers for prerealse they have made it frustrating and nearly impossible for large groups of people like friends and guilds to happily play on the same server together without abandoning many hours of playtime invested into a character. About half of our pre-established guild have spent a combined thousands of hours playing so far, but what about everyone who isnt in yet? As it stands we either have to abandon our toons or live with the decision to start playing in pre-release and suffer the inevitable queue of our constantly FULL server. Mabey some people will change servers on thier own fruition , but I for one will not pay an additional dime unless the currently full server issue is addressed properly. What i am suggesting is that they offer ALL pre-release players a free character transfer to the server of thier choosing if they do not intend to increase the population cap.
