  1. I just returned to try out the new season and noticed all my characters been moved to a single server, which is good in that respect as I wasn't able to with the original launch server populations were rather....limited. But the way TOR is done with character names with them being server bound, this limits players greatly in naming characters. In short, all the good names are taken and those character names that you liked were on the server you moved to, you were out of luck. So really would like to see TOR have names account limited like in other MMOs than server limited as with TOR.
  2. Wish I saw this post when I made mine, but I had the same thoughts.
  3. I think the title already did it, but if you got some advice I like to hear it. Because I've just spent my entire savings fighting this guy. And it's beyond frustrating.
  4. I'm currently on Dromuund Kaas on the way to fight the Emperor, and I'm stuck with T7 as a Companion. The thing is, I hardly spent my time keeping him upgraded since I perferred Kira and later Doc since his grabbling ability is rather annoying. So I suggest that you give T7 a buff to level 50 during the fight or give Jedi players a heads up that T7 is going to be needed and they should spend their leveling up focuing on him. Or that you give T7 buff rewards as secondary to the preferred compansion as so you are not at a disadvantage in the final fight (even if the enemies are weak). As for that grappling ability, be nice if we could turn that off.
  5. I really don't want to be negative, but that video really didn't wow me. Space Combat is still nothing but a rail shooter, which this was one of the major areas people wanted to see changed. And I like the Cathar being added, but many by now have already filled all 8 slots or will with the 1.3 server transfers. No qualms with the HK-47 companion. But the new content looks like something that will be burnt up within a week or two, and what I would like is long-term replayability without a senseless grinding like we got at high-end for the top quality gear. Also, I seen no mention of improvements for the drastically lacking PvP system. I'm sorry, but this just isn't enough to keep me around as an ongoing subscriber and not enough for my friends and comrades to return. I really hope that will change in the near future, but for now, I say may the Force be with you!
  6. I just watched the video and I'm having problems loading it. And my internet connection seems to be working okay in speed tests and on other internet sites. But what I gathered from the bits of voice, I'm glad character transfers are coming in, but is transfers a 1 time deal? For example you decided to go to one server and a friend went to your server? And what is this going to do with the Legacy System? If you move two or more characters from one Server with Legacy 10 to a Server with a Legacy 5, what gets priority? The one already established on that server? What of the experience from the previous server, is the experienced lost, along with the money you put into it? And what is the rules regarding characters with the same name? They out of luck or will you be able to change their name when you move them over? And what is the transfers going to be a limited time offer or permanent? Anyhow, while this seems to help out with the near impossiblity of finding groups for Flashpoints, the rest isn't really piqueing my interest in continuing my subscription. I love the stories, the music, and the art. But to me it seems TOR would've been best as a Single Player game than an MMO.
  7. I appologize if this ends up being a rant, because I just went through an ordeal. I returned not too long ago in trying out Season 1.2, and ever since I came back, I could NEVER find anyone interested in doing any of the Heroic Missions. Now I'm continuing with my original character that was still level 17 when I stopped playing and decided to play again. And found a person LFG for Hammer Station on the Republic Side. Me and him group and after like an hour of waiting, we got enough people to do Hammer Station, highest was Level 20 and the lowest was 15. The only healer was the smuggler who barely could keep up since he was mostly speced as a DPS. We get all the way to the end, and needless to say after 2 hours, we couldn't kill the boss and the group gave up. I myself have spent almost my entire savings on repairs, stims, and med packs. So this failure has left me being not very happy as a player. Now granted it's been 6 months since the original release and there been plenty of time for tweeks, but I feel that these flashpoints and these heroic missions need to be redone. Right now, until my suscription has ran out, I don't think I'm ever doing another flashpoint or heroic mission ever again.
  8. The most fun I've ever had in MMO PvP was in Everquest when we competed against other guilds for the rights to dungeons and Boss Spawns. If you were on the other side and wanted it, you had to be stealthy and fast. But with TOR, I like you can go hunting on PvP planets and can do it when you want to. However if you do go hunting, theres a high possibility you will run into someone on the opposite side doing PvE. And not sure about you, but most PvPers I know think it's a lame type of PvP to take advantage of others who are in battle with PvE mobs or weaked from PvE battle. So I could see them having high-end dungeons on each side that has unique drops that would encourage people to camp and fight over. Or perhaps a neutral objective between the two teritories that both sides can go for.
  9. I finally am hitting endgame and I'm very disappointed that Space Combat is nothing but a copy and paste of the first space missions with nothing but harder mobs and dependance on missile spam. Everything from Sullust Interception and onwards seemed like it wasn't worth playing, even if it meant no longer getting Fleet Commendations. I really would like to see TOR's space to be actual space combat someday, but until then I'm no longer interested in playing this railshooter space combat.
  10. I'm never doing this lousy space mission ever again, it's just a terrible copy and paste of another mission with nothing but spam missile fire.
  11. Yes, there is a problem with Cloaking in PvP. On Alderaan I found a 31 Jedi Shadow PvPing a 29 Imperial Officer who jumped on the guy while engaged in PvE. I was passing by on my 41 Juggernaught at the time and beat the Jedi to near death, he cloaked and retreated. Felt like a cheap victory how it's so easy to cloak and run without any consequences. Which makes me go into PvP kills in itself as a second suggestion: If you get killed in PvP without any PvE flags (being engaged in combat with NPCs) you should have to respawn at your base or wait 10-15 minutes to respawn than get up within 2 minutes. Because it ends up being lousy PvP where people get up and continue PvPing. As for my third suggestion - NPC Healers - needs nerfed. As I type this, I'm on Hoth battling Level 39 Buccaneers and they were healing one another and inspite having 5 levels on them, it was just going nowhere fast. In fact, I got the general impression these White Maw NPCs are mis-conns since they do so much damage for level 39-40 and not being Elite nor in a Heroic area. And due to the small populations, you cant even find groups to do these Heroic Missions, so you have to level higher and come back later if you want to experience them.
  12. I just ran into a Level 30 Jedi Shadow PvPing a lower level Imperial Officer, and I interceeded with my Level 41 Juggernaught. I nearly killed the Shadow, but he cloaked and completely disappeared. I've ran into Shadows before during the PvP fights on Tatooine and find their ability to cloak and recloak, along with speed boosts is rather overpowering. So think as one of many suggestions for PvP balance, I suggest that their cloaks be "adjusted" to be something that cant be an I-WIN button in getting in and our of PvP without consequences.
  13. I'm a newly resubscribed player in trying out 1.2 and want to ask if there is going to be somekind of balancing to PvP? For instance, somekind of level banding that prevents Level 50s from griefing lower level players or somekind of system during warzones that brings everyone to the same level as so higher levels on one side doesn't have a level advantage over the other. Or getting rid of the PvP gear so that casual PvPers or PvEers would have somekind of chance against those who spend the majority of their time PvPing?
  14. I like to also ask that the event be extended, because I really didn't know about you unlocking more event missions until today! And it makes me feel like I'm being punished for not being a hardcore player. If they won't extend the event, then i hope they give us another way to finish getting these armor pieces. I myself still lack the bracer and chest pieces.
  15. In general it was a rather good event. A good story with good interaction that got you involved in the story. But the things I didn't like about the Event was that it was mainly designed for Level 50s, who could do the entire event and reap all the rewards and codex unlocks, but guys like me in the 30 only could do limited ammounts and guys under 30 were out of luck. Another thing was the way event information was spread and how to participate in the event. The stations had the news information, but wasn't sure at first if I had to access a special shuttle or go to the zone itself (which was the later), and having to find where to go on the planet to initialize the events (which you have to literally stumble on). And for me the only way to get the grasp of the event was through spoiler sites explaning what to do. While the missions 1 though 4 was relatively linked to one another, number 5 really was a "what to do" kind of mission since there was no saying "okay go here after you read the TV screen" or "here is the general location for parts of the ship". Then there was the PvP factor. While there was a sort of truce going on my PvP server where people left others alone, there were still times people fought over control of the Jawa, which made me wonder why they didn't really put more thought into the PvP aspect where possible griefing would be minimalized. So hopefully these things will be improved in future events.
  16. Waited 1 hour for that .................. Tatooine balloon and stayed up all night. Missed the stupid second holocron. Then when the balloon gets back, I get killed by a lousy level 45 camper who just wantes to grief people. No wonder people are tired of the crappy PVP so thank you very much Bioware for wasting my time in staying up all night to be griefed. You should be thinking about the casual player who only has a short time to play. These holocrons need to be redone where they can't be camped easily. You need to put in level banding on these worlds.
  17. I just spent 1 hour on Tatooine waiting for that stupid balloon to carry me on a 40 minute ride, and staying up in the middle of the night to do so. It's incredibly inconvenient for casual players to WASTE their time in such a manner.
  18. I agree, my Sith Jug is constantly CCed and his hits are weak. Meanwhile gun-classes can shoot us at will from a range. They need to balance.
  19. I give TOR PvP a 2. I really love the idea of Huttball, in that it gave a new twist to PvP. But I really hate how in warzones you have higher levels mixed with lower levels. PvP should be tiered. I feel class balance is off. While it's true some people can really make some classes shine, in general people are just at a disadvantage. I hate the idea of expertise since it imbalances PvP more so than the problem with proper gear. Open PvP was baddly implemented where players on the opposite side can gank others while in PvE, which is the worst aspect of PvP, IMHO. Should be out in the open field before you get to the PvE areas or areas where NPCs don't aggro. Open PvP should matter. And the one thing I hate the most about PvP in TOR is that it's too easy to exploit the line of sight where people go for your back in knowing you can't attack, and leave you highly vulnerable.
  20. I would like some advice in how to PVP in TOR. For starters, I'm not new to PvP since I've PvPed in MMOs since Everquest and did in other MMOs like STO. But for some reason I'm getting easily defeated 1 on 1 by by level 14s as a level 30 and it's just beyond humiliating. It's like I cannot even land a single hit on them. I notice people move all the time which makes it hard to hit as a meleer like my Sith Jug, and not sure if thats my problem, or what. So I could use some expert advice.
  21. Seen plenty of PvP battles where the Sith Lord got his Aft Plating handed to him by the Smuggler half his level. I think you want to go balance this.
  22. I have to agree that the lag is extremely horrible when it comes to these PvP zones. I have a video card good enough to play at maximum settings in all TOR's competitors. Just a few moments ago, I played in the Aldarran War zone and it was so terrible, I was easily defeated 1 on 1 against a Level 11 on my Level 21 Sith Juggernaught. It's unbelievebly embarassing, especially since I've been PvPing in MMOs since 1999 with Everquest. And right now it's very much out of the question to buy a high-end machine to play PvP. So for now, I think I'm going to subscribe after the Free Trial is over.
  23. I just played in the Alderaan War zone and the video lag is so severe I am getting easily defeated 1 on 1 by level 11s on my level 21 Sith Juggernaught. It's extremely embarassing. I'm not a novice when it comes to PvP, I've been playing it since 99 in Everquest. But this video lag is so horrendous that I'm at a severe disadvantage that I do look like a novice. And given this economic situation, it's out of the question to buy a high-end machine to play TOR. So unfortunately, until I can afford a high-end machine I have to pass up PvP zones in TOR.
  24. Okay, I finally completed it after 15 tries and my mouse button finger is not happy right now. Have to see about keybinding in space. I'm sorry if I made seemed like a newb, but I tried the Fleet Actions with just 0 equipment. But after completing a couple FAs I earned enough to buy more gear and pretty much equipped with the Base Gear.
