  1. I understand the logic behind your thoughts. But I feel I do more damage in balance and can also cc more often/efficiently, and you have to admit that sever force is a jem to have in warzones to defend caps. Here is my build. I have force technique skills for pve, which is also another benefit for me since I don't like the tank role in pve and the reason why my balance points aren't wasted since I play both pvp and pve. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601McMZZcrfRrRkrfz.1 For someone who strickly do pvp, it would be harder to justify yes since you'd waste one point in balance and not have really anywhere else to put the rest on since it wouldn't be very beneficial.
  2. Hots aren't worth much if people can burst through you like paper. Personally I have more success in combat technique AoE breach debuffing, being harder to kill, while guarding the enemy's targets and mitigating damage, enabling healers to keep the whole team alive longer in return. It is a better group pvp and team oriented technique in my opinion and experience. If you call it useless it obviously doesn't match your play style, but don't presume things applies to everyone. I'll be balance as long as my tree is called "balance". I still benefit from enough of it (things mentioned above and FIB, stronger project+melee symbiosis, and more/faster cc) to justify its use vs KC. And most importantly, it's the one I have the most fun with
  3. I use it because it gives me and my team better results. I find it to be much more versatile and usefull for a lot of reasons. For duels I would probably use force technique though. To me, balance is range and melee efficiency, not burst and dots.
  4. I'm all stalker in combat technique. Works great.
  5. Would be better if we could simply ignore opposite faction chat/emote text by default in preferences. That way kids can still feel like big boys on the interwebz, and mature people can have a better time pvping. Win win.
  6. It's indeed based on diplomacy more. I liked being part of the grand political scheme of things, however, I feel that the story was more tailored to sages than shadows. As a Shadow, I almost never felt like some sort of Republic information agent, it was always about healing and helping the weaker.
  7. Who am I?: Lead development tester. What class did I pick?: Jedi Consular /Shadow /Balance Why?: Because it's versatile and has a lot of tools at its disposal. Now give me more pants please..
  8. Sever Force is at the top of my talent tree.
  9. They will just modify the ship's collision to prevent climbing. It's a 5 minute fix and should be in the next patch if BW was alerted/busted for thinking players wouldn't find it.
  10. I can only conclude that the OP failed his science class.
  11. I support penalties. Personaly I'm not doing another warzone until it's there. If you want to do whatever you want without having to think about others, mmo's or multi player games aren't for you.
  12. I like this idea. You also team with the empire once in one of the consular's main quest. Although on the republic side, for Jedis, it would be difficult to justify them fighting each other on the role playing side of things since there is only one leadership (council). I'm willing to ignore this if it can fix pvp balance though.
  13. If you play an FPS game and the devs made the shotgun you're using auto-aiming after a patch, it's obviously a mistake, but you wouldn't expect to be banned from using it. It would just be a total auto-aiming fest until it's patched. All you can do is be angry or laugh about their mistake.
