  1. Ah, classic response of someone who knows they're wrong. Expertise is everything in pvp. Without it, you're dead, unless you're lucky enough to fight someone who's also without it. Pvp is only skill based when expertise levels are virtually equal.
  2. You are aware that even if it's only 10%, that translates to a difference of 20% between you and a non-pvp geared character? You do 10% more, they do 10% less. Tell you what, go put on your best pve gear and go do some wz's. Then come back and cry about how OP full bm gear is.
  3. Lol, what have you been smoking? Even if all main stats were the same, (which they're not, full bm has adds at least 2000 more hps, not to mention about 200 additional points to main stat) expertise alone adds at least a 10% bonus in pvp. It's not limited to just that though, if you get a 10% bonus to all damage, your target gets all damage reduced by 10%, so this translates to a (at least) 20% difference in damage output. Now adding all of this together, with skill levels being equal, someone in full BM gear will be maybe at 40% health when he's done curbstomping a one day old 50.
  4. Yep, it's almost useless. For everything you can make, you can buy a better one with commendations. Perhaps the only exception is purple barrels. However, by the time you can make them, the next level of barrels are available. Even the highest level barrels are quickly outclassed by running a couple HMs.
  5. See! Proof that the "Text Crit" ability is way overpowerd. NERF THIS
  6. Wrong. You completely missed the point, or you aren't very familiar with typical pvp. First, it's the second time I've had this happen to just me. Second, as most pvp players know, as soon as a strategy, tactic, or class becomes an "I win" button, it will be adopted by the masses. In this case, it will probably be limited to premades. Which helps. Lastly, I still stand by my argument that if 4 of the same type (tank, dps, healer) results in victory, there is a balance problem. You won't achieve victory regularly with 4 tanks or 4 dps's, but the 4 healer combo was devestating.
  7. I second this motion. On top of fixing the daily bug where you don't get credit for a win. I just finally broke a 14 game losing streak, only to not get credit. ARGH
  8. Tell me about it. I just finished a Voidstar, and the pubs had 4 healers. We didn't kill a single one. Even when we targetted and focus fired them, cc's, interupts, we couldn't stop them. At the end of the match they had over 1 million points in heals. My thinking is, if stacking four of any class in a wz is an "I win" button, there's something wrong with the balance.
  9. I'm with these other guys, there has to be something you're doing wrong. Counting only solo stuff, I couldn't have died more than 10 times on my way to 50. I complained regularly about how easy the game is. Only other thing I can think of to add is don't time your attacks based on the animations. You probably already new this, but some people don't. I used Mako the whole time also.
  10. Ahh, 'the best laid plans'. Sorry, but I've seen the two side strategy work too well. The problem that you're forgetting to add into your strategy is that people die. Now, return to defend the middle. By the time your there, the battle is over. Not true for the sides. The point is, you don't have to kill all of the enemy to hold the sides, you just have to keep them from re-taking it.
  11. I sympathize with the melee classes. As ranged dps, I only have to worry about LOS and my rotation. Melee have to keep track of that and make sure they're in close range at all times. Something should be done about that. I liked DAOCs 'stick' command, made it easy for both classes. However, if you put a minimum range on our hardest hitting abilities, ranged will get dominated in pvp. As a merc, keeping someone at more than 5 meters would be next to impossible. I've got one knockback that's on a fairly quick timer, but it only knocks back about 8 meters. Throw in the 1.5 gcd, and the melee is back on me before I've even clicked the next button. Stuns are almost useless, between the resolve bar, and everyone having a cc breaker. Even if I get a full 4 seconds in, throw in 1.5 gcd, and I'll be lucky to get one tracer off. Also, getting rid of auto-lock would be a bad idea too. Most melee players would be able to exploit this pretty easy. Just turn on autorun and spin around in circles spammng their best melee attacks. Try keeping someone like that in front of you for 1.5 seconds, can't be done.
  12. The problem, I believe, is that you can't get expertise until 50. This baffled me when I went to buy some lvl 40 gear. I couldn't find any with expertise on it. Why??? This makes no sense. Unless I'm missing something somewhere. Which is possible. I could've missed a vendor somewhere.
  13. I can't remember how I did it, but the quest isn't broke. I remember I was confused for a while about what to do next. Maybe read the quest details if you haven't already.
  14. Best argument I've heard yet to explain the difference. Still, 15 to 0 is a pretty big difference to be just animation and sound effects.
  15. As I said before, since you say there are 2 to 3 times more empire than republic, then there are 2 to 3 times more empire players to complain about it, therefore balancing out the total number of complaints. There should not be a 15 to 0 ratio, no matter what. I'm not arguing about other abilities, just amount of whining.
