  1. As a "for the record" kind of thing, you're wrong. I play Focus Guardian and was in Alderaan with a sage healer, and we held a turret against two, then three, then five players for long enough for me to get through three aoe taunts before reinforcements showed up and we smashed them. Heals are fine, you just can't spam heal only... you have to actually play intelligently.

    No, he's not.

What you're effectively saying is that your healer was taking up to at times 80% reduced damage and he didn't have a problem keeping either of you up before you received backup.

Well gee golly willickers, ya don't say?

  2. I'm merely trying ascertain whether its my class that lacks at the top end of the spectrum or the Healer archetype in general.

It's not (just) your class - I'd say it's the archetype in general but I honestly don't believe Trooper/BH healers lack for very much. The only thing they lack for is a battle rez and in terms of the grand scheme of PvP that's neither here nor there.

Currently r60 Sorc healer and the ability to burst sorc healers down is crazy.

Static Barrier/Force Armor only adsorbs ~3100 dmg even when talented to adsorb 20% more. This is on a 20 second (17 with 2set bonus) cd.

One shock/project crit from a properly geared assassin/shadow will remove that. Buffed with Recklessness and or Voltaic it will do even more. Everyone wants to talk about our utility, but against certain classes it's negated very easily. To use Assassins/Shadows again; they can do everything we can do utility wise, except for shield - and as I said one crit and that's down.

After shield is down you're being crit for 3-4k every attack and against any half-brained opponent your Dark Infusion (big ct heal) is being interrupted. Any DPS class outside of Juggernaught/Guardian DPS (which are getting a buff btw) WILL take you down.

Its the class. You don't have the survivability or ammo conservation commandos have or the raw output that sages have.

Raw output? Yes we are able to put out some big heals but please keep in mind several things: alacrity is pretty much worthless so only crit heals are really making any impact in pvp healing stat wise, our big heals require 2 things: 1 .to remain stationary 2. A cast time which is easily interruptable.

Under pressure from one competent DPS and Sorc/Op healers will fall.

  3. I expect your forum presence to diminish after this statement. Any more after this will just make you look like an ex-boyfriend who just can't let go and move on with his life.

I have 23 days left before my sub ends.

I can do whatever I want. Expect my forum presence to diminish then.

  4. Games been out a month, but was developed for 6 years. Get your head out of your rear.

    Fixed.

For 6 years of development time, with as huge a staff, with as many resources as they had - this game is vastly disappointing.

I've cancelled as well. No, I'm not lying or bluffing.

  5. Perhaps, these same people, should do something other than RUSH to the carrot, get as many as they can, and enjoy the ride?

Ah no. That's not possible.

    RUSH?

It's been a month and a half now...no rushing involved.

  6. #11: Merc commendations are useful and plentifully had in TOR's robust, energetic, frantic, exciting and easily found World PvP...ohwait

#12: There aren't silly things like unpassable deathfilled exhaustion areas, or unusable elevators cutting you off from enemy faction areas.

#13: The PVP gearing process in TOR is worthwhile and dynamic. PvP gear looks different and like work was actually put into them.

#14: The combat system is SO smooth and SO responsive!

    #15: Because GW2 isn't out yet.

  7. It is official that in February there is the "press beta" phase and in March/April they will do an open beta. My guess is it will be released to E3. They won't close the servers much longer than one month after open beta.

    Good news!

    Thank you for the info!

    hahahahahaha

    GW2

    hahahahahaha

Yeah, I'm sure ArenaNet will be laughing too....all the way to the bank as they will find themselves consistently beating SWTOR in sales, comparison reviews, metacritic scores, actual potential for ESport play (not just pipedream wishes like TOR's devs) and technical capability.

This game cannot handle 20 (TWENTY) people on a screen at once; GW2 is making maps to encompass HUNDREDS in an area at once.

Laugh it up now biodrone. Will be crying soon.

  8. Why not save space and just ask for instant travel on demand?

Now one is asking for that. Stop deliberately summarising people's arguments and twisting them into something they aren't asking for.

    Docking bays are useless.

    Orbital Stations are useless.

    Elevator after elevator is useless.

Why have useless things in the game?

These things serve no purpose, only to frustrate a portion of the playerbase.

I completely agree with the OP and BW needs to think of smarter )and more group friendly) ways to integrate time sinks into the game.

  9. how about READING a thread before barging in to slap an irrelevant series of posts next time ?

i spent a sole hour circling the zones. i spent more than 30 minutes, trying to enter two different caves from the hints given in the thread i linked.

find me the non-pvp, non 'bash your head 2 times pointlessly into level 50 champions' way.

the latter is not supposed to happen by the way. it is apparent that those level 50 champions are standing in front of a zone entrance for a level 35 quest, so that the level 35 character should NOT enter from there.

How about you stop freaking out?

    God.

Shut up. How about you actually take the quest tracker instead of reading something in a weird thread and starting up your own thread about something that you didn't EVEN experience.

    Shut. Up.

  10. Ur in all purplez my friend and u sacked a lot of time and u miss social life so bioware is bad company cuz 1 month old mmo is not perfect wat do??

Do you know how EASY it is to get purple gear in TOR?

This is completely unrelated to my OP but the itemization in TOR is horrid. There are merely 3 tiers of gear in TOR for PvE and PvP, all incredibly easy to get, that all look alike and once you get T2: Columi/Champion, the T3 stuff: Rakata/Battlemaster isn't a very huge stat boost.

You really don't know what you're talking about so you choose to defend BW (a company that really doesn't care about you personally) and you choose to attack me personally (saying I have no life and attacking my social life).

You are the epitome of gentlemenship and I applaud you good sir.

  11. roots not being on resolve is silly yea i agree, but resolve immune ball runners is only the teams fault.. dont just look at the ball runner and cc him, get to a good advantage point and use a strategy to knock him down, but seeing as how your innverse id say you have no problem at that.

my main point was healing isnt to OP dps isnt to OP people cry on these forums and i've never expirienced any of these problems as a merc healer.

Where in my post was I claiming about classes being OP? It isn't there, at all.

As far as resolve immune ball carriers? The most annoying thing about that is when you ARE a competent PvP player, so you save your stun for the firepit, but alas when you DO stun them - the game's visual unresponsiveness showed them in the center of the fire pit but 2 seconds later they flash to the other side.

This stuff ruins matches - it aggravates players, it causes them to quit and unsub.

  12. After all the so called beta testing you would think much of this would have been reported and fixed.

However, all MMO companies are guilty of taking the short cut of relying on outside testers to provide honest input and it just does not happen.

More often than not, people beta test so that when the games comes out they know how to exploit the system.

    IMHO

Nice post sir, but you're wrong.

We DID beta test! We tested the **** out of TOR. Want to know what happened?

Essentially Ohlen and Zoeller told us that our feedback didn't matter. Even though they read it and acknowledged it, it was useless to them because they had the almighty all-powerful metrics. Apparently those metrics couldn't tell them they were building a sham of a pvp system - but there ya go.

  13. L2play

On a serios note, its an MMO, tweaking gameplay and performance really doesnt kick in for about 6 months, sorry your to compulsive to wait.

Oh and srry u dont have FULL SHINY PURPLES 1 month into the game, how are you dealing with this OMGWTFBBQ debacle.

I actually am in all purples tool. I don't mind a pvp gear grind. An RNG system isn't a grind, it's idiotic.

  14. Let me count the ways:

    - RNG Gear system: I'm halfway to rank 59 and I still don't have a full champ set.

    - Open World PvP is a sad, pathetic diseased puppy that's so pitiful you can't even bring yourself to put it down. Thanks for making the primary form of PvP on PvP Servers experienced through queuing for warzones! While we're at it, thanks for making the only (serious) form of PvP progression gained through queuing for warzones! You were lying out of your *** Zoeller when you said we could earn rewards through either - but that's ok because I'm a biodrone and love how you'tell-it-like-it-is!'

    - Sucky Engine: Even if your game design supported open world PvP, the game itself wouldn't allow it - put 20 people on the screen doing anything and your game, i.e. fps and combat responsiveness - falls to pieces.

    - Merc Commendations: An obvious and blatant time sink grind that's utterly useless. Why in the hell are we even allowed to trade these back for Warzone commendations? What was your design plan here?

    - No PvP gear differentiation: So what the **** were you bragging about in all of those interviews saying how you have walls and walls and walls filled with different outfits and designs? You guys are morons.

    - CC Overload: "I'm 10ft from the goal line! I'm going to score and even the match for my team!"

    *takes a step* STUN!

    *Uses 2min cc break* STUN!

*waits 4 secs then tries to move* ROOT!

*Cleanse - shield, Heal* ROOT, INTERRUPT, SLOW!

*Cleanse - Pop PvP heal - literally on the goal line steps* GRAPPLED INTO FIRE! Dead!

*Rezzes to watch resolve bar draining over character portrait with a growing yet sinking feeling of utter disdain for TOR*

OR (and this is my favorite)

"I'm guarding the right turret by myself. They're hitting mid with everything they've got and we need everyone else there."

*Waiting expectantly, ready to call inc!* MINDTRAP

*AHA! There's a shadow nearby! I'm going to wait to use my break until they de-stealth and try and take the point then dot them* Extremely short fight - VANISH - DOT DOESN'T BREAK STEALTH

*I know they're here somewhere so I call inc* MINDTRAP - FULL RESOLVE - CC BREAK DOWN, CAPS POINT BECAUSE THERE ARE PVP MEZZES (even AOE ones) IN THIS GAME THAT LAST LONG ENOUGH TO TAKE ENTIRE OBJ

While we're on the subject of CC. Let's stop a second and talk about how your resolve system is utterly and totally borked. At times I will be able to Electrocute a player, and their resolve won't fill, allowing me to whirlwind/knockback them again after - and other times I can Electrocute a 0/1000 resolve player and their meter will go to full instantly.

MY *********** GOD WHICH THE HELL IS IT?!!!! Pick ONE and STAY with it! Either one stun gives full resolve or it doesn't!

    Where was I?

    - Valor/Medal System for healers: Did any of you playtest this? It's k, no need to answer...we already know what it is.

    - Oh and Here's a BIG one - VISUAL UNRESPONSIVENESS: I'm not quite sure what the technical details behind this one are, but it's HUGE and it's ANNOYING! You see a player running over a fire pit and want to make him pay for his folly with a stun?

WRONG! With you scratching your head wondering why he takes no dmg, then 2 seconds later appears on the other side of the fire trap, out of harms way. Or how about this, constantly watching players on edges (which huttball has a ton of) fall/knocked off them only to have them appear on the edge again in 2 seconds!

Or how about being unable to effectively hunt/heal/protect/whatever ballcarriers or other players in WZs because to you they're rubberbanding in place but in reality 50m away?

    - Ilum Bugs: So I just killed this Jedi for the first time today 1v1 and got no valor whatsoever. Now multiple that times 15. Good times.

    - Getting to 8 Seconds only to get interrupted: What the timer NEEDS to say is 8.5 seconds. Because that's how long it *really* takes.

Your PvP is a sad, pathetic JOKE and is entirely frustrating to engage in for any elongated length of time.

In short: Yes this is a qq post, yes I'm frustrated, pissed off and angry. No I am not quitting (today) and No you can't have my stuff.

  15. As soon as I'd finished downloading patch 1.1 and logged into the game, I elected to kick off my SWTOR day in the usual manner by flying my daily batches of space missions - only to discover, to my chagrin, that I'm now running into some new and extremely annoying hindrances.

    1) I'm getting FPS stutter in space, something that's never previously been a problem. It's most noticeable with high obstacle density in play and is making nabbing every last incoming fighter a real pain in the rear, aside from being thoroughly jarring and disruptive all on its own. I experience the stutter even with AA disabled.

    2) I've disconnected twice already today, both times while running Cartel Listening Station on my Sniper alt, roughly in the same spot (approximately halfway through). I've never disconnected in space before.

    3) Most strikingly, in Nez Peron Sweep, ditto on my alt, my lasers occasionally simply cut out! They continue to fire, strike their targets, yet deal absolutely no damage. My missiles continue to function as per spec, the mission proceeds normally, I have no lag whatsoever, yet, periodically, my lasers decide to go on strike. This usually lasts for about 40 seconds before mercifully reverting to normal and happens at variable times during the Sweep. I'm really not too tickled by my losing 40% of my health on this trivial mission that shouldn't even drop my shields.

All told, space combat, previously one of my favorite aspects of the game, has metamorphosed into a hideous fingernail-biting font of irritation! Are any of you experiencing similar issues, and, if so, have you any possible explanations, ideally ones based on some easily correctable hardware problem of my own?

If these issues are indeed directly caused by the patch, as I must reflexively suspect, I sure do hope a fix is in the works.

Have had issues with the Space Mission where we have to destroy the mines Imperial side, with blasters intermittently dealing no dmg.

Wasted 6+ minutes twice doing that.
