  1. Well, here's my story of the tale of two patches. Before 4.0.2: Content was really easy. Even doing the Heroic Star Fortress missions solo, with basic 208 gear on both my Guardian and Assassin I never dropped before 75% health. However, leveling my Marauder, even with overpowered companions and full 192 gear, I still died a lot or almost did even with a healing companion. Marauders and Sentinels have always been really squishy, and I didn't feel that they had enough DPS to solo heroics since it seems a lot of their abilities got nerf'd. Moving on to my overpower sage. Never played my sage after I got him to 50. Somehow, he was the easiest to solo content with. I ran through a heroic area and agro'd 4 groups, just to see how much I could handle. Did not die. Serious? After 4.0.2: Did not think that the 75% nerf was really needed. I did agree that companions did need to be balanced, but not a nerf like this. First thing I did: Solo'd Star Fortress mission. I did it on my assassin twice, because she is the more squishy of my max level characters. I did almost die a lot, and even had to use some of my "oh ****" abilities, but in the end, it was easier then when I did this with other players later on. My Marauder had the worst time after this patch. I was still catching him up with the story, even though he was already max level. Could not kill Revan. Between his annoying stuns, and big bursts of damage, my marauder could not be kept alive by my companion. Died 7 times. Only reason I was able to complete is I stocked up on stimpacks, buff packs, and used Heroic moment twice. The struggle was real. When I got to Ziost, after every pull I would have to sit and heal, and this is with healing comp. I also noticed that the companions do what they did pre-4.0. They like to start attacking, when I really just need them to heal. I don't need Jesasa to run up and hit the mob with her saber a couple times. I needed her to sit back there and heal. Pre-4.0 that was the biggest issue. Companions would start attacking mobs and just stop healing. With my Marauder, it became easier to just use a tank than healing comp, though I would still almost die each time. My marauder was my first toon, I know him the best. I should have no problems with the companions he has. Yet I struggled through the missions. Recap: Jedi Guardian Level: 65 Gear: Mostly 208 Difficulty: Low-Medium Sith Assassin Level: 65 Gear: Mostly 208 Difficulty: Very Low-Low Sith Marauder Level: 65 Gear: Mostly 208 Difficulty: Medium-Very High Jedi Sage Level: 53 Gear: Some 166 Difficulty: None existent Conclusion: I still don't agree with the companions being nerf'd as they did. I may not have struggled, but it's because I never really have with this game. I used to two man Hardmodes with my buddy and the ****** Pre-4.0 comps. It was hard, very hard, but do-able. But what I see is that other players are struggling a lot. You should never build a game around the best of the best players. There should still be challenging content, but that content should be built around the average player, not the best. I don't think that the companions should go back to how they were 4.0, but you should definitely buff them, and then do some hard thinking about the major game changes you make in the future. Professional game designers, and a team that has been working on a game for 4 years, should know better, and shouldn't have to turn to the community to start to think "Maybe we messed up?"
  2. But what if you just hate the Cathar? So, what, I'm just supposed to buy it to get new species?
  3. Is it just me, or are players getting fed up with all the bugs. I've played a lot of MMOs, and so far, there has only been one other MMO where they have just refused to fix bugs, and that was the failed Star Wars Galaxies. I honestly think that we should start a petition or something to get them to finally fix all these bugs, and I'm talking about the ones that have been in since launch, like vanish not working, speeder mounts auto dismount in combat, and what not. If you are with me, speak up.
  4. They're not saying that they don't know what the saber is for, they're saying it should be used for more than just a stat stick.
  5. I second this as well. It really ticked me off when I got on Makeb, and saw that everyone had the same story as me. I know it was a cheap token expansion, but they could've put a little bit more time and effort and made some changes to it, at least add in some variety. Enough of my mini rant, I do want them to do more class specific stuff. Everything they're doing now is class neutral, which really destroys the uniqueness of each class. I play this game, because my Knight is completely different from my Sage, or my Trooper, or so on. Not so that they're the same, with different abilities. I really do hope that they stop the class neutrallity that they seem to be pushing now. Especially with the new FPs they're coming out with.
  6. Not going to read all the posts to see if anyone already said this, but think back to the movies. Did Palpatine stand there shooting lightning at Yoda and Mace the whole time? No, he threw in saber attacks, and mixed them in with his lightnings. Sorc/Sage should get something like that. Even like a ranged master strike, where you leap into melee, then leap back out, like what Palpatine did. I think that would be cool.
  7. This is the only game I know of that removed old gear, because they were too lazy to create new vendors for the new gear. Serious, they need to bring back the old Tionese and BM gear, or at least allow the old blue sets to be modable as well.
  8. I am soooo tired of recolored armor. Why not come out with new armor? Like, actual new armor. Especially with the new dye system, these sets are nothing special other then they glow a little. *Sigh*
  9. I shall agree as well. I liked most of the Tionese gear, and the former PvP gear as well. Now, you can no longer get either
  10. No, my subscription is what is paying to fix the game, not the cartel market. If you guys knew anything about business, then you would know that Bioware has already made back all their money from launch, and has been gaining profit this whole time. Cartel market is just a cash cow, like same day DLC's. If you make it, then just put it in the game, don't charge extra. Now, I can see F2P having to pay for it, but again, I pay a monthly fee, and then on top of it, I need to pay an addition $10 for content that should already be added. That's not right. Also, I shouldn't have to pay additional money to pay for them fixing bugs. Do I have to do that in single player games? Or how about other MMO's, like Rift, Tera, or WoW? The monthly fee is so that you get constant updates, and fixes to your problems in the game. Not to have the same issues hounding you from day one to keep doing it 3 years later, and then have them say," We need you to pay more, so that we can fix the glitches." Yes, I do. And I'll tell you why. Because they only ever come out with one thing at a time. When was the last time they came out with new content, new cartel gear, and new pvp stuff all at the same time? Honestly, if I cared enough to look it up, I'm sure I would find it's been way too long ago. Again, as I said before, I love this game, they just need to stop being so lazy, or else even people like me, who would happily give $15 a month to play a broken MMO (And with the amount of glitches STILL not fixed, you can't say it's not broken).
  11. I would just like to honestly know what it is these devs do. Because there's bugs that have been in this game since launch (Like the famous HK glitch in Foundry) and then the new glitchs that occur almost every patch that just never get fixed. I'm waiting to log on one day and just find that I can't log on because the game is just broken. They keep coming out with new armor, and new emotes, and nothing that even matters, except to get money. Last I checked, this was an MMO, not some stupid APP on a smart phone. They just need to come out with new content faster, in all aspects. PvP, PvE, Quests, everything. When the game first launched, and for the year afterwards, it was okay, because they were catching their stride. Now it's just sad. I just want them to do something, rather than come out with new cartel crap.
  12. I partially agree with OP, though not wholesomely. I believe that they really didn't come out with enough content with RoTHC to really call it an xpansion. I played this game from launch, and before this I played WoW, from launch. Now, I'm not going to compare the two too much, but when I reach maximum level and they only thing I can do is raid or PvP, then it get's rather boring, especially for a game that prizes itself on a unique questing system (And by that I mean fully voice acted, with an interactive questline.) I love this game, and it pains me when I read that for their new xpansion, they're not coming out with any new FP's, and instead just reusing old ones. Old ones I didn't even like. Granted, yeah it was only a 10 buck xpansion, but you can still expect them to come out with ALL NEW CONTENT, instead of reusing old content. Not to mention having Section X STILL be the main daily area. But enough of that, onto 2.1. I like that they're finally coming out with the Cathar, and barber shop. Should I pay for it? NO! I pay $15 a month, and I paid for the xpansion, why do I need to pay more? Seriously? Again, don't want to, but bringing it to WoW. When they came out with the barber shop, did they charge you real life money for it? No. It was like 5 gold to change your hair. Nothing, that's pretty much what it was. I don't think they need new content for 2.1, except for maybe new quests, because the fact that I finished every Makeb quest chain in a day is just pathetic. I already have 3 level 55's, and I don't spend hours upon hours playing this.
  13. I don't know if many will agree with this, but I love my ancestor's mask, I thought that that was an awesome touch to the inquisitor story, but I would like it if the mask didn't take down my hood. Because I like the mask, but it takes town the hood, and just doesn't match with most of my armor pieces, considering all the ones I have have hoods.
  14. Again, dunno how many times I need to say this, I'm saying that the other sets should carry the bonus over. I'm not saying it does, or anything else. I'm saying it should. Not that complex.
  15. Well, I haven't most of the campaign gear yet, kinda just started playing again. But honestly, I think it should work for all levels of the PvE sets. And I'm being kicked before we even start any pulls, so I doubt it's because I'm messing up. These are also all instances I've done before, like LI, and the such. Besides that, I'm pretty sure I can pull my weight as a dps, seeing as how Campaign geared tanks can't really hold agro off me, even after I use my agro dump.
  16. Not sure you understood what I was saying. What I'm saying is that the PvE gear should work like the PvP gear does with armorings. If it does, then it doesn't show up for me, since I have all my armorings in from my columi sets. Also, if you're just looking at health, how would that help out a dps? Unless you were talking about PvP areas, I don't see how that would tell you whether they have the gear to do the instance or not.
  17. Okay, I would like to make a suggestion that you do the same thing with the PvE sets that you did with PvP sets. I'm tired of being kicked from groups because I'm supposedly "Terrible" because I don't have a "full set of Columi/Rakata gear". I have a full set, I just don't wear it, because I like the way my character looks without it better. So, what I do, is I take out all the mods from my sets and put it into my other gear. Then, I join an instance and get kicked for being "bad" and told to go join a guild. This is really making the experience of this game not worth the $15 a month. I really hope you guys do something about this.
  18. I also found out rather recently, that you also can't add in children to people that are married. For example, let's say I have my warrior married to my Agent, I can't have them have a kid together. Why not? This is another reason as to why they need to add in multiple choices for characters in the family tree.
  19. I've been messing around a lot with the Legacy Family Tree lately, and I found, that although it is a really good idea, there's still a lot to be done. When I first heard of this coming out, I could only imagine all the possibilities. Then, when it finally did, I was really disappointed. There's so little that you can actually do with the Family Tree. As I've already seen, people talk about saying they would like Companions to be able to be added in, and I would like that. I think the main thing that I would like to see is the ability to add someone in multiple spots. For instance, I would want my councilor to be rivals with my warrior, but then for my warriors son to be allies with my councilor. Or my warrior to be enemies with one of his ally's ally. Another idea I thought would be cool, but I don't know if this can actually be done, is that depending on your relationship with your other characters, certain companions will come in at different parts of your journey. Like, going back to the previous example, my councilor that's enemies with my warrior may have to fight one of my warriors companions in a stage of before your character gets them, or after if they're an ally/family member. How cool would it be if when you're at Taris or something, and Lieutenant Pierce shows up? You, of course, couldn't kill them, but it would really make it seem like doing all the things in your family tree isn't just for some SnGs. My last idea is that it would be also if you could put in character bios, and create parents, or other non-character family members/companions. Like, I don't want to level up 20 characters, but it would be cool if I could have a huge family tree based on a family member creator that's added in. That's really all I had. Hope you guys consider these.
