  1. I like that! Five stars for you!
  2. Thats not the point, read again. Besides I don't have a problem with healers. I don't expect to kill a healer alone. While I'm attacking a healer and thereby forcing him to heal himself another player will die due to the lack of healing. Though I think its quite a big oversight in system design that healing gets more powerful with expertise while damage basically stays the same, if players are on the same expertise level.
  3. THIS IS NOT A WHINE ABOUT HEALERS BEING TOO POWERFUL. This thread is about healers getting more powerful with expertise, while damage dealers don't. Simple math. Lets assume a 4vs4 fight, with a healer on both sides is balanced with 0 expertise. PvP works as intended. Now, some weeks later, all players gained 400 expertise through gear, which is equal to: +8.68% damage +8.68% damage reduction +8.68% healing Formula: PvP Damage Bonus % = 20 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.2 ) )^( ( Expertise / max(Level,20) ) / 0.72 ) ) Source: http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Thread-SWTOR-formula-list So damage dealers gain 8.68% damage, which is counteracted by the 8.68% damage reduction. Damage doesn't change from 0 to 400 expertise, if the attacking player and his victim gained 400 expertise. BUT healers gain 8.68% healing compared to 0 expertise. In other words, healing gets more and more powerful with expertise while damage and therefor time to kill stays the same. Assuming that PvP combat at 0 expertise is balanced, healers will be 8.68% too powerful at 400 expertise. Simple solution: remove the +healing bonus from expertise.
  4. I don't need superior gear to win. Quite the opposite actually, I enjoy beating an equally geared opponent a lot more than roflstomping a fresh 50 in greens. Its Player versus Player and not Gear vs Gear. If you want to autowin by gear advantage I'd suggest World of Warcraft.
  5. Im pretty confident you'll gain more experience by leveling. Especially since you have to take the required travel time into account, since you have to get to your ship and back to where you've been questin to do space combat. About the lore complaint: With the exception of Taris and Balmorra, why shouldn't the ship be able to pick up the player anywhere on the planet? Besides, lore hast to take second place behind gameplay. Lightsabers would onehit everything otherwise, doesn't sound like a fun game
  6. Lets be honest. Space combat isn't really that thrilling. Its not bad either but surely not challenging, even on higher levels. Though its perfect as a gap filler: Waiting for a crew mission to finish -> 5min space mission Waiting for the tank to join your group -> 5min space mission Waiting for the warzone invite -> 5min space mission The problem is, you have to go to your ship to start space combat. Instead of having to be on your ship to start a space mission players should be able to start them (and the corresponding quest) from everywhere. This should make space combat a lot more interesting and accesible. In addition it might be worth considering to increase experience and credit rewards. What do you think?
  7. Thats quite a powerful rig you got. You should be able to play every directX 11 game with 60 fps, SWTOR should run at 90 or above. So I guess warzone performance is still bad.
  8. 50 fps is stell 10 fps short of smooth gameplay. Whats your framerate in your ship? What kind of computer do you have?
  9. Please let us know after you played a few warzones on PTR. I'd like to know but can't be arsed to level again.
  10. Anyone got to test if the problem persists on PTR?
  11. Server merges are needed for german servers aswell. Ignore those stupid suits, its not a fail to merge servers but rather a requirement to keep the customers stuck on low population servers. SWTORs population will raise with the deployment of patch 1.2. I also got some unused characters :/
  12. Its less about wanting to reopen the inventory but rather about that opening the inventory should have NO PERFORMANCE IMPACT. That it does decrease performance is a hint towards a bug.
  13. Thanks. Some guys even posted screenshots of their graphic card load. Its similar to CPU and RAM usuage. Despite low fps the graphic card remains mostly unused.
  14. This is a repost from a closed thread My SWTOR performance story I had performance problems with SWTOR in warzones and at the fleet since day one. Despite other games like Batman Arkham City (DX11) and Battlefield 3 (DX11) running smoothly. My computer: CPU: i7 950 @ 3,07 GHz RAM: 6 GB HDD: 120 GB SSD Graphic card: Geforce GTX 470 Mainboard: Asus P6T SE Watch Battlefield 3 Videos recorded on my computer: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fiesbertt/videos Tried the following to improve SWTORs performance: Moved SWTOR from my slow big HDD to my small fast SSD Reinstalled drivers Installed DirectX 9.0c runtime ( http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 ) Disassembled, cleaned and reassembled my computer Reinstalled the SWTOR client Reinstalled Windows 7 all drivers etc Tried out using ramdrive ( http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=154568 ) Granted, cleaning my computer actually yielded a huge performance increase of 10 fps, though I still have like 30-40 fps in warzones, which is 20-30 fps short for smooth gameplay. Its all claims so far, this is why I made some screenshots. Scenery - no combat Graphic high, CPU usuage less than 30% , 3,5 of 6 GB RAM used 90 fps or higher Desert 1 http://imageshack.us/f/545/desertl.png/ Desert 2 http://imageshack.us/f/815/desert2e.png/ Hanger http://imageshack.us/f/254/shipql.png/ So far, it looks legit. High framerate and low usuage of my computers ressources, perfect! PvE combat Graphic high, CPU usuage less than 42% , ~4,5 of 6 GB RAM used about 60 fps Belsavis PvE 1 http://imageshack.us/f/210/belsavispve3.png/ Belsavis PvE 2 http://imageshack.us/f/204/belsavispve2.png/ Belsavis PvE 3 http://imageshack.us/f/526/belsavispve1.png/ Barely 60 fps not even 50% CPU usuage and still 1,5 GB RAM free for use?! At least it runs smoothly so its okay I guess... PvP combat Graphics high, CPU usuage less than 42%,, ~4 of 6 GB RAM used about 40 fps Huttball preround http://imageshack.us/f/189/hutballview.png/ Huttball combat 1 http://imageshack.us/f/856/hutballbattle1.png/ Huttball combat 2 http://imageshack.us/f/826/hutballbattle2.png/ Huttball combat 3 http://imageshack.us/f/37/hutballview2.png/ Never more than 40 fps, less than 30% CPU usuage most of the time and barely half of my 6 GB RAM used. Seriously Well, MMOs were always kinda strange performance wise. Maybe I should try low settings to improve performance. Graphics very low, less than 30% CPU usuage, 4,3 of 6 GB RAM used Belsavis PvE ~60 fps http://imageshack.us/f/338/lowbelsavispve1.png/ Huttball preround http://imageshack.us/f/641/lowhutballview1.png/ !SAME PERFORMANCE AND RESOURCE USUAGE! Huttball 1 http://imageshack.us/f/338/lowhutballbattle3.png/ !SAME PERFORMANCE AND RESOURCE USUAGE! Huttbal 2 http://imageshack.us/f/855/lowhutballbattle2.png/ !SAME PERFORMANCE AND RESOURCE USUAGE! Huttball 3 http://imageshack.us/f/109/lowhutballbattle1.png/ !SAME PERFORMANCE AND RESOURCE USUAGE! I challenge you to explain this SWTOR performs worse than Battlefield 3 SWTOR doesn't utilize my computers ressources, even in low framerate situations SWTOR doesn't perform better on low graphic settings
  15. Nope, I prefer Player versus Player to Gear vs Gear. I'd say the difference between Champion and Battlemaster gear is fine, the difference between Centurion and Champion isn't. New 50s should be able to get a starter gear, quickly. So they stand a fighting chance. Veterans could get an edge but autowin based on gear? That plain sucks!
  16. You don't kill the healer. You're killing the guy that the healer can't heal while he is being tackled from you.
  17. Simple question: Why do warzones start if both teams aren't full? The warzone start should be delayed until both teams have 8 players or until a minute passes after it would have started. It just sucks to have warzones end early!
  18. Whats this about? Interrupt abilities of all classes are free except for the vanguard/sentinel/guardian: Costs ressources: Force Kick (Knight) http://www.torhead.com/ability/8HuNNaO/force-kick Riot Strike (Vanguard) http://www.torhead.com/ability/cplfaQq/riot-strike Doesn't cost ressources: Mind Snap (Consular) http://www.torhead.com/ability/2iMpaME/mind-snap Distraction (Smuggler) http://www.torhead.com/ability/8KL54XT/distraction Interrupt abilities should be free for all classes, not just Consulars and Smugglers. This sucks.
  19. That guard medals are easier to obtain than healing or damage medals is out of the question. Problems with the medal system are a whole different topic. I consider the unnecessary cumbersome implementation of the guard mechanic a topic if its own, that isn't really related to how medals are distributed. Did you ever try to play as a tank in PvP? Its really frustrating with the current guard mechanic, because you can't do what your supposed to do many times, without having any influence on it, due to the way guard works right now.
  20. Hey, the guard mechanic is kind of cumbersome for PvP. The rules of the current guard mechanic: Only one guard can be present on a player Players guarding another player can't be guarded Guard stays on if the guarding player gets out of range Guard respects the global cooldown In PvP it happens a lot to me that I don't notice the "Player is already guarded" message or press guard a little too early so it doesn't get through, because its blocked by the GCD. I'd suggest the following adjustments to make guard less cumbersome: Make guard have a 1s cooldown instead on being on the GCD Allow players to have several guards present but only ONE transfers damage To prevent players from stealing guard medals, if several guards are in range the player should be protected by the oldest guard
