  1. That's not been my experience. The Developers are trying to answer a question about DCD's in SWTOR. They're approach is seriously flawed... So providing feedback, as was requested, and help shape how BIOWARE answers that question is both important and necessary. What won't happen is that BIOWARE simply does a 180 and gives up on attempting to answer this question - so in that, nothing anyone says about leaving everything as is, will change their move to answer it - anyone who thinks otherwise is being delusional. So dissuading them from attempting to answer this question is not the point - it is to help shape the answer, from the people who actually play the game - us. In this way, these threads and these posts are important. My personal experience has been posts do matter, and the Devs do listen.
  2. "More Choice"... Being lied to EA style. Feels great don't it? _embarrassed : At least for PVP (and I'm an Unranked novice - full disclosure), with the damage output in the game currently, even if DCD's were pruned across all Classes and Disciplines, people are going to die so fast and sent to respawn that people will be stuck behind the 30 second penalty barrier en mass. Warzone matches will be less fun, and the meta will likely shift to max DPS classes like Powertech Advanced Prototype (AP) and Sorcerer Lightning etc and just steamroll. So is BIOWARE EA going to set up a Match Making system where you can't have 8 Powertech APs on a single team after they prune all these DCD's? Because current Warzone Que seems pretty random to just fill 16 players of any classes? ... While we don't know all the details of the combat mechanics they want to change - it doesn't sound like their overhaul of DCD's really takes into account the domino affect this is going to have on how PVP plays. And they may end up evolving a the game into a new meta that they wish they hadn't - and will panic and start nerfing class damage output because of a lack of any true Match Making for PVP.
  3. Thanks for swinging by Ashley! No idea how long this thread will last, but as they say... where's there smoke there's fire, I'm certain there are so many people that never look at or post on the forums that would agree - new or old cinematic designers - we all have that one moment where the Cut Scene just clinches the immersive experience, and locks in that emotional connection with our character. This here: https://imgur.com/a/Z3Db937 is my Main, that the Cinematic Team and Story Team, Voice Acting (hell I wish I knew all the departments but just have to settle with BIOWARE) just nailed the Sith Inquisitor Class. Coming from Star Wars Galaxies as a Master Commando in that game, I started on the forums and then joined the live game when it launched (sadly wasn't chosen for Beta Testing). My first character was a Trooper, but the moment I decided, hey making a Darth Talon character would be fun and Force Lightning is always Cool... Dual Sabers FTW! Became a immersive journey and a favorite character. (Of which I've invested way way more money into than I would ever care to admit) And the clinch for all of it for me, was the Cinematics - that interactive movie that just sucks you right into the moment. So thank you, each and everyone - and hopefully more people will be inspired to post their own favorite cut scene experience and boost the dev teams moral if its ever waning. Cheers
  4. You can always pretend it didn't happen w/ no tongue... but +tongue you've crossed a line and forever will it dominate your destiny!
  5. Was that image PTS or Live? If live that's a good find lol for an NPC that is just scenery haha - wp.
  6. Pulls out /whale emjoi... *(TL;DR - Nobody's addicted to SWTOR, push them hard enough and watch revenue evaporate - Oh and Some Executive at EA clearly just ranked up to Dark Side VI by insisting on this 'change') ... As an older gamer with wife and several kids... You know if my entertainment becomes hostile to my game play experience, then I just don't pay for that experience. I was heavily invested in World of Warships for years as my PVP (Strategy) entertainment, and then the developer made the game so hostile to my personal entertainment, and I uninstalled and left... haven't been back. I've got better things to do with my time than to fight to have a pleasant experience with your product/service. In fact I remember vividly, receiving a emailed survey asking why I left - and I thought, oh boy someone misses my wallet - so I took their little survey and blasted them whenever there was a comments section. At the end of the day, no matter what Bioware EA does this is 'my' metric for deciding to help fund the profitability of SWTOR or not. I'm a Star Wars fan, not a SWTOR fan - I can bide my time if pushed away until another company does a better job in the Star Wars MMOG space. I won't rage quit, or make hollow threats. I love my characters and I love my experiences to date in this game. But if the game becomes Hostile to my sense of personal entertainment, then my wallet is closed. I have most everything I want after 10 years of playing and can go to Preferred Status and just play story content... SWTOR micro-transactions aren't nearly as necessary as other games that go out of their way to make F2P extremely painful. If EA wants to ruin the mechanics I enjoy, then I'll just set SWTOR to the side and go ride my Ducati Monster 1200S - RL still exists, One last note: This Global Pandemic having happened, this is the WRONG time to be @#$#@'ing with peoples game. Some people are on the verge of getting evicted once the eviction moratorium ends, there are probably people that sooth any mental/emotional distress by playing this game --- and NOW you want to radically alter it? Some Executive at EA clearly just ranked up to Dark Side VI
  7. And the Fleets of the Factions? Seems to me they got it right, and kept the social MMO part to a size that allowed players to see each other and interact rather than be km's apart.
  8. The ability to lock an item(s) to protect it so that it can not accidentally be disintegrated for tech fragments. Particularly for items like Permanent Stims and Adrenals. Just seems like a smart thing?
  9. What about this solution: We already have PVP to PVE Open world status toggle... Just add a POS toggle for those that can't handle the current toolbar?! Spare the rest of us and #Problems_Solved!
  10. I thought this thread was a discussion about Combat Styles negatives or positives? Not Mynock waving whose got better Cred vis-a-vis Star Wars Fandom. I'm still down on the Negative Column. The Daniel Erickson interview reference was surprisingly a good find and substantive post. If we can draw anything from that reference interview, its that this change is NOT being done with our best interests or the health of the game in mind. As I read it, Erickson's revelations confirm everything opponents to Combat Styles are saying.
  11. Good! Blast 'em But for those that come here: Make 'em learn - They aren't in Azeroth anymore. THIS IS @#$@#!()*% STAR WARS... where you Kiss your Sister, and Han Shot First!
  12. Getting a Flirt Option with Malgus during Onslaught - yeah I wasn't passing that up. Kinda sad that looks like an unrequited track to no where between my female PC and Malgus... oh well.
  13. Adding the "Yavin Temple Chandelier" ceiling Decoration, casts an unnatural thick linear shadow across the floor from one wall to another wall in a straight line - very noticeable! And this unnatural thick shadow moves according to the "Rotation" setting of the decoration ceiling light; in addition to its normal triangle lighting/shadow effect. It's so noticeable and an eye sore that I had to take the Chandelier down. Image for Bug report here: https://imgur.com/90FSFpZ --------------- *Update Same for "Suspended Sith Crystal" but 1000x worse! Seems there is an inherent backlighting from the stronghold ceiling itself that is casting a shadow on the ceiling object, but magnified a lot!!
  14. That's a BIG assumption about not offending. I personally know 2 women that play SWTOR that don't mind slave bikini for RP purposes, but are creeped out by some of the companion costumes outfited by other players. But this is about something no one sees, unless invited. I still think it would be fine, and there would be only a tiny fraction of a percent of players that try and purposely abuse something like this.
  15. Like how certain players try to make their companions as naked as possible for zero practical value (at least use a slave or dancers outfit for visual RP value)? Trust the players - game is 10 years old and the setting is private.
  16. Is Le'Crime. Why after 10 years and only 2 REALLY Good Twi'lek friendly head pieces, are the only headbands for Twi'leks part of the Character Creation/ Image Designer Station? I noticed with NPC Companion Dazh Ranos that her default headband 'auto tunes' for any attempt to place a 'Darkside' oriented item in the head slot on the character sheet (not always but a lot), and in doing so I was able to get this beautiful golden headband. If the headbands could auto-correct for Twi'lek PC and NPC characters, to go under/over/or encompass the Lekku of PC Twi'leks or Twi'lek NPCs like Vette or Paxton Rall - this is long overdue for the poor Twi'leks of SWTOR. Free the Lekku!
  17. I'm biased that Sith Inquisitor is the best story among the 4 Imperial Faction Class stories - sure is miles better than Consular imo.
  18. Unrelenting Interceptor (Decoration) is Not a Solid Object in Vaiken Stronghold - You can run right through it.
  19. I bought mine off the GTN. That's what system censored words are for. And it is in a private player stronghold - if someone lets others in and shows off some stupid of offensive named thing that the censor didn't or couldn't catch, then that's what the Reporting system is for. What's there to be afraid of in something that isn't for the Open World portion of the game? Don't be afraid of player agency... its good for MMO's
  20. My Main is an Inquisitor Class: I have this Urn in my Stronghold that's item name is "Sith Lord Remains" and it needs to say "Darth Thanaton" on it. Dev's you more than anyone should get this reference, from when Inquisitor ambushes Thanaton in his personal chambers in the Sith Enclave in Kass City, and the dialogue that takes place - to then the events of the Kaggath and it's outcome. The ability to give player agency to add tags or even customizable "lore" markers that generate next to the object that's been tagged would be a cool little story-esque addition to SWTOR. The ability to show why my Urn is different from anyone else's would be the best.
  21. Sad to see that the beautiful M35-Shadow is too small. I primarily bought this speeder as a decoration to go in the new Vaiken Spacedock Stronghold; but it is so small that it simply doesn't work as a decoration piece in the shuttle bay. If it had been closer to the size of the Unrelenting Interceptor, I think that would have been much better. This is a subjective opinion, but one I hope you'll take into consideration - as there is no way of knowing the actual decoration size until you buy it (particularly if no one else has bought it before you and you see them using it) As much as I don't like the idea of spending another 1800 Cartel Coins, it would be nice to see an M36 - Shadow II style Dropship that is large enough to be a proper decoration/speeder akin to the sizes of the Zakuul Dropships and the Unrelenting Interceptor for the Vaiken Spacedock Stronghold: Shuttle Bay.
  22. Medical Droid Decoration Vendor items do not scale with Character Level (or even Legacy Level). This makes for a almost useless Decoration Vendor. Should be updated to hold current non-crafted Stims and Adreinals.
  23. Like the Title says - if you've got that memorable moment, or emotional reaction from a cutscene, come over to this thread on the Story and Lore forums and post a message to Dev Ashley Ruhl. (or start your own thread idc either way) ------------------------- (Also: https://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9959549&postcount=1 ) I'm with the keep Ashley employed crowd; even more so I'm now part of the keep Ashely Ruhl VERY BUSY fan club! And initiate this fan thread, for all those that have loved and adored the work of a Dev that we may have never even heard of previously. When I rolled a new Inquisitor 10 years ago, I didn't know the amazing interactive Star Wars movie that was in store for me. When last month I re-rolled my same inquisitor spec and character design, but with my final outfit look (which didn't exist as a Cartel Market set at the time), I recorded the moments that were defining... Moments Dev AshelyRuhl made possible. So imo some fan love is in order, and here's to another 10 years and a robust budget to help keep Ashely VERY Busy. ---------------------- Please read Ashley's Dev Blog here: https://www.swtor.com/info/news/article/20210722 to get up to speed (if you haven't already) And please post your fan sentiments, show her some love and appreciation, and share your memorable and or inspirational moments in SWTOR Cut Scenes! And hopefully Ashley will swing buy every now and again to read her fan posts. (or this thread will die a horrible fiery death via a Mod delete button - but we'll try to make this thing - there's a lot of lovers of story out there in our community) So here goes nothing... Clicking: "Submit New Thread" And let's hopefully show Bioware EA our enthusiasm for MORE STORY!
