  1. I have a better idea. You are only allowed to roll one character ever, the character should have your real name and gender, and they should do ID checks to enforce this rule. You get owned playing your JK so you jump on your GS, and that's NOT how war works, after all.
  2. Mixing them makes no sense unless they add an option to show DS corruption on the companion.
  3. What are you guys on about? The price is fine. Doesn't anyone remember the $72 monocle in a certain other game? -_- And yes, I bought the white/white and the black/black dyes. Some to use, some for resale. And IMHO the prices are reasonable and in line with the demand for them.
  4. I'd pay $60 for an expansion with new voiced class stories. But realistically, those are very expensive to produce, and very fast to consume, so not likely to happen anytime soon if ever.
  5. Since I just spent about 2 million credits on upgrades, most of which will become obsolete the moment they increase the level cap to 60, I for one am glad that this event is still a ways off
  6. I have them all on the highest settings and it doesn't lag for me. Your case will depend on your hardware, so just try it out. Lowering shader complexity should help if you have an older graphics card with not too many shader units, lowering texture quality should help if you are limited by video RAM. Shadows are generally expensive so getting rid of those should provide some good results, too.
  7. You'd get early access to the Gunship, plus a paint job for it, if you were subbed on the 1st. For the other subscriber-only perks you only need to be subbed now. Better get ready to learn how to fly scouts effectively, I hear they are good at killing Gunships. If you can't fly it at least you can enjoy pew pew'ing it.
  8. Neither do the Limited/Digital Deluxe Edition items. But it's still nice to have them in collections. This would be nice as well, either in collections or via legacy unlock (like HK-51).
  9. I can get behind anything that reduces queue times (apart from x-server queues) but that interface looks atrocious. The idea sounds interesting though.
  10. I'd like them to take the "scaling area difficulty to number of group members" feature from the GSI quests and apply it to a wider variety of scenarios, ie I want end-game soloable content with gear progression (maybe gear with presence stats on it, so that ops elitists don't QQ too much about it). Inb4 "do u kno whut 2nd M in MMO iz". I'd also like for them to expand your starship with more customization options (ie player "housing" stuff). Also, Pazaak. And sitting on chairs on fleet
  11. Bioware. You get to take four companions with you on your Starfighter (who can be some of the Class Story companions unlocked by your characters, or some of the new GS-only companions). Where they fit is anyone's guess (I'm guessing there's an Anywhere Door in the back of the Starfighter), but the idea is they provide passive/active bonuses.
  12. My PUGs usually last at least until the first wipe. If we wipe for any reason, either the tank or the healer often quit, regardless of whose fault it was. Occasionally you meet more serious players who will discuss the wipe and once we agree on a better approach we can clear the content. But the first scenario is just as if not more likely in PUGs. If you want to play with people who normally won't randomly quit, you should consider joining a guild.
  13. That's the point the OP is making. They look like they're for solo use but they house a crew of 5.
  14. To the OP, if you are nervous about the state of the game, you should keep your eye on http://investor.ea.com/results.cfm as EA being a public company talks about SWTOR in their quarterly reports. His question is perfectly valid given the number of MMOs that have been shutting down recently. If EA will start continually running losses on SWTOR operation they will shut it down.
  15. I don't think the hybrid approach will yield good results. If you want to DPS, you should spec into vigilance, which has all the good DPS talents. The defense tree is for tanking, you are just gimping yourself. Edit: and if you want to stay with Soresu and defense tree, I'd get defense gear (ie guardian instead of might mods/armoring/etc) and commit to tanking.
  16. So, the OP was perhaps too forceful about the issue, but all you guys saying "who cares" and "troll" and "nonexistent issue" are just as bad. As someone who does watch these cutscenes and who does care and want them to look good, let me chime in. I have what I consider a decent rig (can run Rome II on Extreme without any drop in framerate, for instance), and always updated drivers, and I am seeing the same issues the OP is seeing. In particular: 1) when approaching planets, during the fade-to-black, the planet will disappear but the halo will stay behind for a second. 2) there is sometimes some pop-in during takeoff, for instance on Republic Taris the ship appears out of thin air instead of coming out of the spaceport. Not quite related but when loading the hangar on Fleet, the ship pops in when I am three meters from the hatch, which is rather psychedelic... You may or may not experience these things but they shouldn't happen for anyone on recent hardware, really. Do these stop me from enjoying the game? No. Would I greatly prefer if these things worked properly? Hell yes! This is a legitimate issue that Bioware should address at some point. As a subscriber and CC shopper, I am paying them for my Star Wars fantasy, and my Star Wars fantasy does not include disappearing planets and invisible ships
  17. They can't sell you custom skins and ship unlocks for CC if you use your own ship, so they'd be limiting their potential revenue stream. The depth of the game would also suffer. GS in its current iteration looks quite complex, a single ship wouldn't handle all those roles (mass, acceleration, handling sound like they are very different between the various ships).
  18. They had something like this in GW2 recently. Not sure if it's on their cash shop also or not, but I logged in last week and found that all my characters received a free "advance to level 20" token. Granted, their previous game had this from the start. Recently there is more and more pressure to go casual and offer instant gratification, that's just what the MMO market wants, and that's where the money is. Those of us who think that progression should be earned by investing time to do it, and that going from 1 to 55 with the click of a button obliterates and cheapens the meaning of 55, are sadly in the minority. I won't be surprised at all if Bioware introduces some form of paid progression in the future, beyond the XP boosters they have now.
  19. They are basically humans with fancy heads and they have the basic model for it in the game already. Unlike the Twilek there's no problem with weird hair since the head is rigid. Although I can see BW taking the easy route by adding another variation of blue/green/purple hmans, too... As for why no more, I feel that there's a pretty good selection already. I'm afraid they'll go down a bad road and add weird unnecessary things like Jawas to appeal to the crowd who plays dwarves/gnomes/halflings in certain other more traditional MMOs.
  20. The reason it failed has probably less to do with the size of it and more to do with the fact that we used to go around together with the other faction, grinding the objectives for mutual profit instead of actually fighting each other. And back then (at launch) the population was much higher and Ilum was the "endgame area" so there were many more people there, of course.
  21. What I want - no more races. What I think we might get next - Kel Dor. They are basically already in the game, just need to add some customization options. And if you hide the ears, most helmets will probably fit.
  22. It's still fine in PVE, same as two years ago. I PVP like twice a year, so can't comment on that side, but I imagine it's comparable to other classes.
  23. It's not like there are that many servers. In Europe we have a grand total of one English-speaking PVE server. In the USA there are like what, three? So, there is really no point in implementing it with the restriction of "same server type", and allowing cross-server FP/WZ queues to mix server types is just a recipe for disaster (PVE vs PVP people, language barriers in Europe, many tears collected and ragequit posts to follow...). Developer time and budgets are limited, they are better spent on new content, balancing, fixing bugs, etc. As for dual spec, it's a nice QoL feature but hardly critical. The servers won't suddenly be flooded with more people tomorrow just because of that.
  24. Seeing that my post was used as the basis for the necro made me smile But I've seen thread necros spanning four years and more, you guys ain't seen nothing yet!
  25. Here's my Jedi Guardian in his full Battle Expulsor set. Although it's about as simple as heavy armor robes can get, this set doesn't seem to be popular - at least, I hardly ever see anyone wear it. Maybe because the pieces are a bit on the expensive side. The lightsaber is the original self-constructed one, I've grown attached to it - it's been my trusty companion from Tython to Makeb. http://imgur.com/a/JCps6
