  1. Just so. I get schematics all the time (slicing 290 now). Just a couple of hours ago I got two purple schematics for starship parts (require cybertech 370).
  2. At this point it's a bit late to change how server infrastructure works in TOR.
  3. It's not that the butt is large, it's just the effect of the tight belt on the fabric of the robe.
  4. I found Valdis easy, the next boss (end boss for Tatooine) in the class storyline gave me much more trouble. If you can't beat Valdis even with stimpacks, medikits, call of the force, your other cooldowns, and proper use of interrupts, just come back when you've geared up a bit and gained a level or two. Or bring a friend. At 25 you should be able to just about solo him without Kira dying. At 27 you will faceroll him. If you're on Peragus Mining Facility and have trouble with Valdis, drop me a line and I'll come help.
  5. I've put up around ten items over the last couple of days and eight of them sold within hours, netting me around 25k. Right now there isn't much competition yet though.
  6. The items you get from archaeology are used in artifice to construct item modifications (which you can put into purple and orange gear). You can also make lightsaber crystals and shield generators / focii. After picking up artifice, check with the artifice trainer once in a while as you advance your skill - he'll have new recipes for you.
  7. Leveled it in beta and I seem to remember that the number of points you get goes up with the mission level.
  8. If you mean your companions, then no. Your companions can only use the skills that you select yourself. You can drop any skill at any time, losing all progress you made leveling it, in order to learn a different skill.
  9. I did see such slots in critical success items that I crafted (in my case on shield generators via artifice).
  10. And I strongly feel that the restrictions should stay in order to maintain the "iconic" look. Seems like we're at an impasse, huh.
  11. Try visiting your artifice trainer and picking up more recipes.
  12. If you really want to be self-sustained on both sides, you'll have to roll six toons on one server and six toons of the opposite facion on another server.
  13. No. And in other games you also mostly either cannot do this or have to pay ludicrous amounts of money to transfer your character. It may be disappointing but that's how they made it.
  14. You can use diplomacy to go from one extreme to the other, but it will take time and credits.
  15. From what I've seen of Sage and Inquisitor up to level 25, the items that drop are hooded shirt + skirt. If they also get an overcoat, that's great. I haven't run into one yet that wasn't medium or heavy but there probably are some - Kira starts with a light overcoat after all. Problem with our coats is they are short-sleeved, but you can't have everything I suppose. I gotta find a customizeable skirt so that I can get that look down too
  16. Neutral-restricted gear is not currently in the game, but Bioware supposedly announced that it will be done at some point post launch.
  17. Like others mentioned, there are customizable robes you can pick up very early on (I got my first around level 12) that are rated as heavy armor but look just like the traditional Jedi robes from the movies/KOTOR. There's not a speck of armor look to them, and you can upgrade these forever and be as viable as someone who gets entire sets from raids. There are also matching customizeable armor for other slots. So far I've found pants and bracers from the same "set" as my robes (Battle Expulsor), and I'm sure there's more items with the same look. If you want a single-saber, traditional Jedi look, you'll want to roll Jedi Guardian. The Sage robes look more like skirts - they look fine but don't evoke the feeling you get from the movies.
  18. Have you tried pressing the spacebar yet?
  19. The light/dark restriction on the original saber (and probably others) comes from the crystal. Just put in a yellow crystal into the original saber and you'll be able to use it again. To elaborate: green/blue are reserved for light side, red for dark side.
  20. September 24th, got in in the latest wave. Let me just say that I am quite happy and it was unexpected - I figured I'd be in on Friday morning or thereabouts. Back to playing now.
  21. Amazon Germany has also started shipping, my SE and GTC shipped around an hour ago and will be here on Friday. I hope Amazon USA gets the message soon so that our American friends can also play without interruption.
  22. Bioware wants you to play all the storylines. So it's almost a given that you can roll at least eight alts. Worst case, you roll four on one server and four on another.
  23. The same thing happened to me the first time I rolled Need in WoW, all those years ago. Fortunately, people pointed out the issue to me and we got on fine after that. I'd also like to point out that just because someone does not equip an item he pressed Need on right away it does not follow that he does not need it. I tend to equip items I Need on only after the instance or in case of a wipe, because it's just too hectic looking for it among all the trash in my crowded inventory during an instance, especially while simultaneously DPSing AND healing, as was the case in TOR so far.
  24. The server tracker is bugged, SR mentioned as much earlier. European servers are supposedly up and have been all day.
