  1. Hey Jeff, I was directed here from reddit, thanks for taking the time to post that, I for one, really appreciate good customer service. I quit a couple of months after launch because I just did not have time to play, even though I LOVE playing. I restarted my sub a couple months ago because screw it, I just loved playing and even though I only play a few hours a month, $15 was worth it in my opinion. I'm very excited about F2P, even though i'll probably stay sub'd just 'cause, however in regards to Oceanic server but I disagree with your choice to see how F2P affects server populations THEN make a decision. If people login, and i'm talking mostly about people who played launch here, where there were 100's of people around, and you could easily do anything with other people, come back to a F2P server and it's just dead (like it is now, very disheartening) I think you'll find you will turn away too much of your potential customer base instantly. Rather than slowly re-building to launch levels of players, like I suspect will happen. My personal preferrence would be to put all Oceanic players on a PVP server, unless it's not fiscally feasable, in which case moving all Oceanic PVP players to the same US PVP server (Although I really hate the idea of 400ping instead of 40... It's like a dream come true to have such low ping) Thanks for taking the time to read this if you did! If you didn't... Well then you are not reading this so screw you!
  2. In WoW I was always a tank or healer. Currently i'm a healer. I'm happy to take the good with the bad, but for me, personally, I much prefered the expierance before the LFD instant-tool was implemented. I play aussie times on a server with little to no australian population (in otherwords I play at middnight-4-5am) I have only started and only get an hour or two to play at a time. I have had no trouble finding groups for stuff i'm doing. Also, while i'm here, I was a huge advocate for the LFD tool when it first got implemented into WoW, I thought it was great and used it extensivly, and loved it. Over time, the whole mindset of people deteriorated, and by the time it came around to cata, I hated dungeons so much that I quit. It, in my expierance and opinion only, destroyed the community feel that we had.
  3. I play a multiplayer game instead of a single-player game because of the interaction with other people, and I would use the word social to describe the interaction. To infer that I have no social contact and require it from a game, to me, seems like you are just dismissing my personal opinion as flawed because you have viewed me as some douche sitting at his computer with nothing else to do. It also, in my opinion, furthers my argument. The more anonymous people are, the less consequences people have, the less they care about their social or anti-social activity. If you knew me IRL, or were arguing with me in real life, there is no way you would have said that. I want interraction with other players from this game, I will forgoe convieniance and speed and instant gratification in order for a longer-lasting nicer community and a greater sense of delayed gratification. I personally feel no instant-dungeon-finder ala WoW is one way to help this along.
  4. To me, dungeons essentially went from being a great way to group together, and being involved with other people, to a random selection of avatars that could either play good or bad and I would not see or care about them again. Sometimes I got lucky and got good ones, sometimes bad ones, sometimes normal ones.
  5. Here is my response why I am against a tool exactly the same as current Dungeon Finder in WoW. When I originally played wow vanilla -> start of cata I loved the forced interraction, yes I had to spend 15minutes+ Forming a group and getting to the dungeon (sometimes more, sometimes less) but it FORCED interaction from other players. Why is this good? I learnt and kept playing with the people I enjoyed interacting with, and they did with me. At the start I was a noob, but then I got better, but how good I was didn't really affect how many people liked me, versus those that didn't. It forced interraction which created a community. Versus what happend with me a couple months into cata when I thought i'd come back. All my friends had left so i started leveling and dungeoning again, I would get instantly into a dungeon, sure that is a bonus on a limited time schedule, but the downside of it was people just did not give a stuff about it in the slightest, it was common for people just to drop out and a new player drop into the dungeon several times, especially if it was my first time tanking something. And even a very good tank like myself, if you ask "Should I know something about this boss" common response "just pull" you pull, die to a mechanic that you learn quickly after 1 wipe, but sometimes even the whole party will just leave because they can't be stuffed running back. Now maybe, maybe, some people prefer the whole just join and not give a stuff about the dungeon. Myself? I like to be challenged, and I like the idea of going in and doing something for the story and atmosphere and working together as a team (the whole reason I play an MMO as aside from a single player RPG, which I used to love). No insta-dungeons means people care about the run more, and they care about the people your doing it with, your forced to interract with people more, which builds your community as you go. That is my quick un-checked response. I'll Edit this if I get time, but at the moment i'm at work (aus)
  6. Thank you very much Bioware. I have only played a little, but I already love your game, and to be honest, even though i'd be a bit ticked about it, i'd happily re-roll a toon there if need be.
  7. it is kind of hard for them to tell each person which server to play on. That doesn't work. If you don't like ques, do what I did and roll a differant server for a while, after a couple months when it settles down i'll either re-roll on with my friends, they will get sick of the ques and join me, or we'll transfer. As a side note, hopefully aussie based servers come out by then and we can all reroll onto them.
  8. So far i'm loving it. I kinda hope they don't bring in the ability to make 3rd party add-ons. I used and loved alot of them in WoW, but some of them really destroyed the game for me.
