  1. No; Darth Vader is the greatest to happen to Star Wars. That's my point; it's a misunderstood love for pre-Hayden Christensen Vader and the longing to have that back. Of course, it's ruined now. My real point is, I suppose: Star Wars giveth, and then Star Wars brutally ruins - and it isn't just GL anymore.
  2. I first played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in the summer of 2006 on the original Xbox. Obviously, I was late to the party. The only reason I did so was because of the recommendation of it from a very good friend of mine who was the biggest Revan fanboy I had known and will ever know. To be honest? I played the first five minutes and got bored (Taris seems to have that effect). I tried it again two years later, AFTER playing through KOTOR II. KOTOR II was such a fantastic game, that I felt that it's predecessor had to have something that I'd missed. So I played through KOTOR I at last, and I discovered the world of Revan fanboyism. I loved his story so much, and I couldn't really explain why. Some time later, after getting into the culture of Star Wars prequel criticism, I realized the answer: When we all saw the OT and were introduced to to Darth Vader's backstory from an anecdotal perspective, we had assumed that Anakin Skywalker had been a military leader who had been turned to the dark side through the horrors of war, not through the fear of losing his wife in childbirth. When the prequel trilogy contradicted this assumed origin, we felt cheated. Revan offered the equivalent of the Vader backstory that we'd all wanted. He was a heroic and charismatic Jedi Knight who had been turned to the dark side (at least before Kreia's explanation and SWTOR's contradiction of Revan's supposed backstory) by the horrors of war. In short, Revan offered us, at the time of KOTOR I's release, the Darth Vader that we all remembered from our childhoods. But now, of course, TOR has changed all of that - hence the Revan fanboys' disillusionment with the Revan from the novel and TOR's story.
  3. This is exactly what Lucasarts did with KOTOR II. However, Bioware actually listens to the players; and since this is an mmo, they can release patches and add features, etc. Obsidian wanted to fix KOTOR II but Lucasarts wouldn't let them. This game is not a failure; but it certainly isn't complete either.
  4. Personally, I believe them when they say it's a considerable task. However, Bioware has shown a great deal of support for the playerbase so far (such as the addition of a DPS option for Guardians). I honestly believe that they are working on it. I'm sure they realize that it's annoying to have your hood down and never see your hair. These forums have some of the whiniest, most impatient, and most bratty people I've ever seen. Give 'em a break, people; this is not the only issue that they have to work on.
  5. IMO, the consular's voice sounds like Dr. Ronald Chevalier, the sci-fi author from Gentleman Broncos.
  6. When asked about the "Hue to Chest" option in this weeks Q&A, their answer was: "The new and vastly improved ‘Hue to Chest’ system launches with Game Update 1.2 and there are more customization and quality of life improvements along those lines hot on its heels." I'm thinking those "Quality of Life" improvements involve such things as a hood toggle of some sort.
  7. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this, but can we expect anything in the form of a hood toggle for gear or perhaps more hood-down gear? As has been mentioned, several of the models exist in-game already. Also, any word on dyes or something similar? I'm very picky about colour coordination . Though the match chest piece option's return would also be satisfactory.
  8. There is always the distant possibility that they are actually working on a hood toggle, which, if it's as complicated as it's being made out to be, it might take a while.
