  1. Pretty sure they have gotten rid of this exploit now. I transferred a toon from an APAC server with a level 32 legacy and on the US server there's no legacy at all. I think now you have to have a legacy on the destination server and/or the toon you transfer must have completed enough of it's story to have been able to start a legacy or something like that.
  2. No. Anyway, the whole cartel coins for appearance change is ridiculous. There should at least be some in-game barber shop type thing where cosmetic changes use in-game currency. On a positive note, at least there appeared to be some additions to customisations like hair and such. That kind of stuff should be more regular.
  3. Not really a neutral effect IMO. We're not exactly leaking subs like we used to be, and the ones we're losing now are mostly because our servers are getting killed. So I'm pretty sure if we had 1 local server the population of APAC players would increase from there, which would be a positive effect.
  4. I was thinking RotHC presents a perfect opportunity to introduce a new playable faction, one at war with the other two. Perhaps a class based around the regulators or Hutt lieutenants or whatnot? Anyway, probably won't ever see it happen but it'd be pretty cool.
  5. It's a pretty stupid way of labelling them but anyway, it just goes to show that on that server there is a relatively high ratio of active players to players who rolled on that server then. And there's definitely more than 200 people across all the planets when it's listed as Heavy. Dunno where whoever said that got that figure from. Even so, mildly better pop while retaining our low latency (+community) is still the best solution in my and the majority of everyone else's opinions. Fact is there are plenty of people who would gladly sacrifice the greater population of an NA server just to stay on the servers even as they are now... So the whole "all 3 servers merged still has lower population than an NA server" is kinda moot.

  7. So true. Possibly the most expensive development cycle in gaming and they didn't bother to advertise at all over here. Such a shame considering this game has lower latency for us than any other MMO out there.
  8. No, the US servers are NOT better for all Oceanic players. People keep going on about how much less population a local server would still have after merging than a US server. But that's obviously not the only variable to consider. None of these people are considering other priorities or compromising population for elements of the game they're underrating such as high end ops where a quick response can determine if the whole group wipes or not. A large portion of those remaining at least on Master D are competitive PvP'ers, most of whom would feel the game is no longer worth playing at all once they can't be assured of doing the best they could in a single warzone. I still think that all three servers together would give us a plenty enjoyable experience. Sure, the population would still be far less than a US server, but certainly it would be enough to attract other players from the APAC region (especially those who rolled on the US for even a mildly better population) let alone give us enough population to have a decent APAC server especially compared to what we've been playing with since numbers hit bottom so long ago. I play on the least populated server in the game and I along with plenty of others feel it's more playable than a US server. That's without the added population of the other two much more populated APAC servers.
  9. True true true. I've always felt that all the APAC servers together would make for a plenty enjoyable population. I have more fun on Master Dar'Nala than I do on any of the NA servers, even without joining up with all the other APAC players, many of whom would already have rolled on the NA West Coast. It's as simple as that.
  10. It won't be the same as WoW's Oceanic servers because at least in those everyone was in the same boat. Competing in PvP especially will at the very least be a total drag for APAC players on NA servers.

The move to North American servers better delivers on our ultimate goal of providing the best play experience, with the most possible players, long term." - Eric Musco If they decided not to merge the three APAC servers into one primarily because it was not financially viable, then why is it unreasonable to feel the above statement is dishonest? That is what people have been complaining about the whole time. And once again, yes - companies are there to make money. That is reality. So is people not liking it when they feel screwed over. Why you seem to be taking the normal and expectable reactions of APAC players to the announcement so personally is beyond me.

I don't think they were arguing against the logic behind inferring financial considerations as much as they were saying that it reasonable to expect that when companies are dishonest, people will complain. That's as reasonable to expect as it is to expect companies are only interesting making profit. When people feel they have been lied to, they'll often complain. Yes, they almost certainly are only attempting to salvage whatever subs they can from this. Doesn't change the fact APAC players consider it dishonest. It seems you think it's unreasonable for people to be unhappy with reality. Ironically, thinking that is actually almost more unreasonable than thinking companies can be interested in more than just making profit.

  17. Exactly. I'd feel better if they told us keeping an APAC server/s wasn't viable which is why we've gotten the "solution" we have, rather than saying that they're moving us to NA servers for what they deem will be a better gaming experience. The latter makes it seem as if we could have actually gotten what the vast majority of us want but won't get because Bioware is retarded. If now, they were to suddenly listen to all of these complaints and decide to merge the APAC servers into 1 (I'm on Master Dar'Nala but I'd prefer to go to an APAC PvE server than a NA PvP server and I think about 90% of all APAC subs would also have that preference no matter what their play style is) then imagine how much better people would feel about the game, Bioware and EA, even for the APAC people who'd decide to keep playing after the merges take place. Please, just do it. If it isn't viable, put us out of our misery and say so.
  18. Nar, I'd also say the look of the pub fleet is more appealing to me, but I guess the imp side is always going to look less 'nice'.
  19. Yeah, exactly right. Planets like Hoth and Tatooine I accept, yeah. But for EVERY planet to be the same thing repeating itself in front of the player gives no satisfaction to wanderlust. Each area is the same feel and look in a planet. Compared to other MMOs, for me in this game there have been so few "ooh, wow" moments from seeing some amazing world design as it's revealed as I walk over a hill or from out of some cave or tunnel, and I reckon it's one of the major things this game lacks that could really make it fulfill its potential.
  20. Taris was an awesome planet in KotOR. In this game it has the same problem as most of the other planets, you run around a map all sprawled out in front of you with big obstacles like the base of a tower or a giant tree or cliff to make adventuring more linear -i.e. The problem is there's no depth to the world; everything is on this one level and the player can't explore higher levels of what was a multi-leveled planet without being transported into another instance. Like Coruscant and Nar Shadaa look amazing, but don't feel as amazing as they should because it doesn't feel like you're adventuring in an actual city, but just separate levels sprawled out in front of the player; maybe take an elevator to get to another level, occasionally go down/up a ramp but that adds nothing as the upper level is just a block above the lower level which doesn't run under the upper level anyway! The game needs more mezzanine levels and intertwining pathways in the same instance but at different heights. To be THAT guy, I'll reference Orgrimmar as a city that always had a good sense of depth and density and business because of the way that area was designed.
  21. Agreed. Fleets need an overhaul. Might be one of the things I most want to see improved. I'm craving an original, unique hub for the game.
  22. Nothing in this game comes close to the Taris of Knights of the Old Republic. That was one of the funnest locations in all of gaming.
  23. Ha I was thinking the other day why don't they do something like this? Like an option to create a toon that doesn't go off to WZs/ops just to create a greater sense of a player-created universe where it's not just a bunch of warriors running around a fleet. Even if it just ends up being like a mini-game; it could give the game a greater sense of depth and variety. I was actually thinking what if they made a class based on the Hutt Crime Lord. Roll as a gangster (which could be an actual normal class capable of WZ/op combat unless you put in the following option): possible race is the Hutt (lol) and you basically have a story about building your own crime empire. I'd roll one of those!
