  1. 3570k is way overkill for this game, and in many respects is worse for gaming than the 2500k (2500k is a much better overclocker, allowing higher speeds). The rig doesn't need to be top of the line to play this game, what the op originally linked is totally fine, I agree though a 6850 would perform better along with a i3-2120/i5-2500k
  2. Run it..? Or run it well? I have an i5-2500k/6850oc'ed and can run it on ultra with shadows turned down. However I only get 20-30 fps on fleet (at full capacity) but in average areas i usually run high 40s to low 60s... if you have the budget i would recommend a 6850 configuration. with an intel precessor... i3-2120 was my original choice (deal at Microcenter allowed me to boost up my CPU). This does not mean you should skimp on other parts though... Places where you can save money... Case, Thermaltake v3 Black Edition is an AMAZING case for cheap Ram, any 4gbX2 will be sufficient really, timings arent a big deal for this game CPU/Mobo w/ a microcenter close a 6850 only costs ~120-140$ newegg usually has the best prices (it's worth it) Really though, build what makes you happy, and what is in your budget.
  3. Ladies and Gents. This post will not put the devs on a pedestal, it will not tear them down. Frankly, I'm disappointed in the whole system. I understand the frustration in some of us, especially the long time 50s. We want new content, we want it quickly, and frankly some are disappointed. The Community Team is in a tight spot right now, they relay what they are told, when they are told to. What can they really relay when they aren't being told anything? Please. One person tell me that. The response by the individuals on the forums, by the paying subscribers, is horrendous. I enjoy this game. We ALL enjoy this game to some extent. Yes, the devs have let us down, that is NOT the fault of the Community Team. The Community Team is here to appease US. Treating them like it is their fault our content is not arriving will get us nowhere. Sadly it has come to the point that the fans have no faith in the dev team, some have no faith in EA, most are struggling with both. But blaming the Community Team, calling them spineless, destroying their confidence, continuously beating them to a pulp with rude comments and derogatory remarks... DOES NOTHING but make the game as a whole worse off. I know we are all disappointed that the dev team constantly tells us "monthly content updates, bug fixes, rebalancing" and it fails to happen. We SHOULD NOT be taking it out on the Community Team... The first few pages of this thread disgust me, I find the sheer audacity of people to be baffling. How many of you really think that attacking the Community Team is going to get you anything? Yes, they can go and say to the dev team "yeah... fans are super pissed..." But it hasn't worked in the past, and I highly doubt that will change at the drop of a hat. If you are discontent with the game by all means, make yourself heard... But is it asking to much for dignity to be upheld? Complete lack of respect for a person is what i just saw, how can any of you even call yourself human after a display like that? You took a positive, optimistic post by the Community Team and tore it to shreds because it wasn't "exactly" the response you were looking for. The response of the team was professional, even for the extreme remarks thrown around, I for one stand up for the team... because The Community Team are the heroes the community needs, but not the ones we deserve right now. So we flame them. Because they can take it. Because they aren't heroes. They are silent guardians, watchful protectors. Jedi Knights.
  4. whats the 5830? i havent heard it considered before? EDIT: either way i opted to go down to the 6790, not because its a better card but because its a little cheaper, i may still go back up to the 550Ti though EDIT 2: oh and this is all techniquely approx 420$ (have to add windows 7)
  5. yes changed mobos as well but i chose a 550 ti, is there any other gfx card mayb for less that would perform as well if not better? and will a radeon work with an intel build?
  6. so i switched to the i3-2100 but couldnt find the 1100T motherboard you speak of, it did bring the price down so im gonna move to an nvidia card, what would you recommend to keep it under 550$ (approx 140 to spend on gpu)
  7. Im trying to keep it under or around 500, what about the new build i edited the previous post with? EDIT: ive heard the extreme3 series is actually pretty good...?
  8. what would you recommend for a cpu? EDIT: new build 4gb gskill ram 2 sticks 1333MHz amd fx-4100 raidmax hybrid 630W psu Sapphire 6770 ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ Rosewill Challenger mid-tower case w/ three fans included HDD and dvd drive not included, i can salvage them from an old computer until HDDs come down in price will end up at 503$ (520$ with dvd drive) after rebates
  9. It will become more populated in the social hubs as people start to get their first level 50's as well, not only that, but people are right about the instancing, the game will probably be instance the first few months at least
  10. i could build a better rig for ~500... the point is the OP got ripped off big time and should return the damn computer haha, quick question for all the computer savvy people here, is this a decent rig? Sapphire 6770 FX-4100 GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AM3+ mobo 1TB HDD Rosewill microatx mid tower case + 450W PSU 1 stick corsair 4 gb DDR3 1333MHz ram dvd drive approx 500$ after rebates EDIT: major concern is PSU and RAM speed... and gpu upgrade maybe?
  11. thats great... at least you had a pc to play on for early access haha, i got in first day, dont have a comp that can run it... and ive been legitimately sick the whole time of early access... im just hopin christmas is good so i can build a cheapo one for ~ 450-500$ haha
  12. only thing i would be worried about is the processor only going 1.5GHz... i havent read up on Turbo CORE so i dont know if it is sustained or just burst for an hour or two but if you can sustain the boost then maybe, you need a minimum of 2GHz processor speed to play EDIT: other than that i think that is an ok laptop... someone please correct me if i am wrong.
  13. ok so i have a really crappy HP pavilion A000 as my old gaming rig (i cant even find specs easily without digging around on the internet for the better part of an hour), i was wondering if i could salvage ANY parts from this hunk of junk (planning on slavaging HDD because it is basically new) because even salvaging the case could bring down the cost of my build (on a really tight budget). Its been killing me this past week not being able to play when i got in first day... EDIT: ok i came up with this like 20 mins after posting, help appreciated Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD AMD FX-4100 CPU GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P Corsair 4gb 240 pin RAM Rosewill MicroATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with 1x 120mm Fan, 450W Power Supply Bundle= 295$ SAPPHIRE 100328L Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 110$ Sony DVD-ROM 18$ Windows 7 OEM 100$ Total ~ 523$ (all parts from Newegg)
