  1. I tried two guilds from begerencolony.org and in both, there was a 3 or 4:1 ratio of the newbie RP'er who doesn't even know the foundation of RP basics (like what God Modding is) and veteran RP'ers. I kind of have that whole "Fool me once, shame on you" thing going since I tried 2 different guilds. Was I just having bad luck in both of those guilds? *Special Note: Some may say that if I join a guild, I should help teach those new RP'ers and show them the ropes. But if this is a well established guild, then others should have taught them way before me, not like 4:1 odds... that tells me that it really is left all up to me to teach the entire guild how to RP properly.. and I am not looking to be a professor.
  2. It feels like RP on this server (and on this game, I should say) is simply plagued with people who are new to RP. I know that opening line makes me sound like an elitist, but I am not; believe me. There is a difference between an elitist who throws a fit when everything isn't top tier standards and a normal veteran RP'er who is tired of RP'ing with people, day in and day out, who don't even know the basic foundation of RP. Now, one may say "Why not teach them, help them become better." Which is easier said than done when it is practically the entire server. There are some RP vets still out there like myself, but I have a strong feeling that most of them simply abandoned ship at the influx of the new players and over-all increase of newbies to RP. So basically, the purpose of this post is that I wanted someone to prove me wrong and show me proof that there is still good RP to be had with people who understand that RP is not a single player game where your character is the focus point of the entire world. Or know the VERY basic terms of RP like what a "Mary Sue" is. Is there a place for my veteran RP characters, or should I simply move on from SWTOR for my RP needs?
  3. I have to unfortunately agree. I am not saying "This game is bad!" (It is actually pretty sad I had to point this out as it seems some folks have trouble reading between the lines, no matter how blatant you make it), I am just saying that I, like many other people find there is nothing to do. Even the RP here seems too bland for me. It is all personal preference, but let me tell you... when I start feeling like I rather play the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer more than this game, something... somewhere went terribly wrong.
  4. I think he worded it in a bad way... but here is what I think of the situation. As a clicker, you can be as good as anyone depending on the personal skill level of the clicker. But, if you take those same personal player skills and use keybinds instead of mouse clicks, you will notice just how much better you can be. So in other words, you shouldn't limit yourself because you notice you are playing on par, or you are ranking in top "x" in WZ's... Because plain and simple, key binds are quicker, easier (once you get used to them), and allow your character to move around a lot easier/free.
  5. I play a Vanguard who is mostly melee. I have gap closers and good interrupts and I know how to use them. I have a grappling hook that pulls my enemy to me, I know how to use it. I am consistently around the number one spot in WZ's, or I usually get MVP votes if I am not because my efforts are seen. Whether you believe what I say or not, I care not. I am just letting you know that melee is fine in this game if you know what you are doing. This whole thing was in vanilla SWG as well. I remember when people were saying "omg, ranged is so OP! Melle can't do anything!"... then everyone found out that Teras Kasi was god-like.
  6. I do... I play a Republic Trooper vs the widely... and I mean -WIDELY- over played Empire classes. I do just fine at the current situation. On top of that, I also play the Vanguard.. oh, you know, the version of our class that suffers from animation delay and still broken full auto. Look, seriously, I mean this in the most non-offensive and sincere way as possible: Once you get more experienced in pvp, you will understand what many people in this thread are talking about.
  7. Does anyone know where I can get lvl 56 enhancements that have Power and Crit on them? I searched through all the other classes pvp vendors and found not 1 piece of gear that had these stats. Is it through PVE? if so, what? I exhausted my resources trying to search, so I just decided to ask here.

  9. There is a difference between open world PVP and what you described in the OP. What you described was not PVP, it wasn't player vs player. It was players + World Boss, vs Players. Is it against the ToS? I don't know, it doesn't sound like it... especially with BioWare's lax rules (IE we don't give a crap about naming policies on RP servers!). But it would sure ruin reputations on your server, where your guild is known as the cowards who are too scared to fight fair. ... -OR- you can argue this point and say you may be known as the griefer guild, but then that doesn't help your argument.
  10. Post Deleted, double post... strange
  11. Are said healers being shielded by a tank? Or if they are consulars or inquisitors, then they have shields that are kind of god-like.
  12. Damn, this is really terrible. The whole reason I focused mainly on pvp in this game is because I work odd hours at my job. And the server I am on, not a single guild runs Operations that late at night. So either way, I am screwed by a pigeon hole (so to speak). Can't do Operations because of my job... can't be the best/min-max at pvp because I can't do operations.
  13. I refer to the secondary stats, usually the Enhancement slot. Almost all of them have End, Acc, Pow. I do not want Acc in my gear. Is there any place I could get lvl 50+ enhancements that have more pvp friendly stats. Like end, crit, surge?
  14. Nice break down. I will plan to give it a shot very soon just to get a feel for it. Who knows, I might feel that Iron Fist is a thousand times more effective for me. But can I ask you, personally.. why do you prefer Iron Fist over Parakeet and/or all the other specs?
  15. I have yet to try out Iron Fist. But I love Parakeet so much at the moment that I am having issues letting it go. Iron fist does look attractive, especially the shorter interrupt cooldown. But with parakeet, you get free HIB's like crazy and also you get a 30 yard DoT that does pretty nice damage (more than gut?). I guess I should give it a try soon. Iron Fist vs Parakeet is basically Utility vs DPS?
